Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 290: I LOVE YOU

Chapter 290: I LOVE YOU

It’s been two days in the hospital, and Julian was recovering daily after a series of tests.

The doctors said there was no problem, all he just had to do was get healed from the bullet wound. He no longer uses his brace but there are badges wrapped around his right arm and shoulder.

Ryan walked into the hospital room, Julian’s eyes fixed on his phone as he scrolled through the news feed on his phone.

Astrid had just left to get him dinner, in the Logan mansion since she thought it would be nice to cook with her.

Julian had called Ryan to come down to the hospital room the moment Astrid left. Using the opportunity of her absence to do some work research.

"How about the people who shot at me?" Julian asked, his eyes narrowing.

Ryan nodded, handing Julian his tablet.

"Someone gave an anonymous tip to Sir Miles. He says..." Ryan trailed off as Miles walked into the room, a smile on his face.

Miles moved towards Julian, patting his hair.

"Hey, buddy. Doing some job because your wife isn’t here?" he joked.

Julian rolled his eyes. "What about the anonymous tip?" he asked, his eyes locked on Miles.

Miles’ expression turned serious. "Well, I have been trying to look for who the sniper might have been. So it could lead to the person who wants you dead."

Julian’s eyes widened as Miles showed him a picture on the tablet.

It was a photo of Mattie paying a man, but the man’s face was blurred.

"We still haven’t been able to reach out to the man," Miles explained.

"Mayne now that you are awake, you can help us."

Julian sighed, handing the tablet back to Ryan.

"Tell me about what’s been happening in the company," he asked Ryan.

Just then, the door opened, and Astrid and Becky walked in. Astrid’s eyes scanned the room, her expression angry.

"What’s going on here?" Astrid asked, her voice firm as her eyes scanned their action. "Why is Ryan here?" She asked and Ryan looked at Julian, who shrugged.

"I asked him to come," Julian said, his voice cracking a bit.

Astrid’s eyes narrowed immediately, "You can’t work right now, Julian. You need to take care of yourself."

Becky moved towards her son, placing a hand on his shoulder. "It was a close call, sweetie. You need to focus on your recovery."

Julian rolled his eyes. "I need to know who shot me," he answered avoiding Astrid’s gaze.

Astrid cut him off. "It can only be Mattie there shouldn’t be any doubt, I am very sure."

Julian’s eyes snapped shut, and Astrid turned to Miles and Ryan.

"If you both want to know who the sniper is, then you should do the job among yourselves. Don’t disturb my husband for now."

Miles’ eyes creased as he tried to explain, but one glare from Astrid shut him up. Ryan nodded a small smile on his face.

"I hope you listen to your wife, boss," Ryan said, teasing Julian. "And not call me here again."

Julian rolled his eyes, sighing. "Fine, I won’t."

Astrid moved to the door, gesturing for Miles and Ryan to leave. "Out now! I don’t want to see you here again until he is strong enough."

As they walked out, Miles turned to Astrid, a small smile plastering his face.

"You are looking more skinny than usual. You should take care of yourself too."

Astrid smiled, a hint of annoyance in her voice. "I will now leave"

Miles placed a small kiss on her head, and Astrid smiled, her eyes softening.

As they left, Astrid stormed toward where Julian was sitting, "Love... what are you trying to do?" He asked stuttering a bit but his question was left hanging when she grabbed his ears, dragging his ears roughly.

"Hey Love... I am sorry... I... aww.." he groaned and

Becky turned to Julian and Astrid with a small smile.

"Well dear, I should leave you guys to yourself." Julian stared at her.

"Mum! You can’t just leave." Julian argued.

"I have full trust that Astrid can take care of you, so I will pass and hope you both enjoy your day."

Astrid tried to talk, but Becky cut her off. "I will leave you two alone."

Becky smiled and walked out, leaving Julian and Astrid alone.

Astrid eye moved to Julian who kept avoiding her gaze. "When did you regain consciousness?" she asked, her eyes narrowing.

"Two days ago."

"So what are you doing right now?" she asked and Julian tried looking down but she dragged his ears again.

Astrid stretched out her hand, Julian looked at her and she gestured at his phone.

Julian exhaled sharply and handed her his phone.

"I don’t want to see you with it anymore," she warned and let go of his ears as she dropped it on the bed.

Astrid sat down beside Julian, trying to help arrange his food. Julian looked at her, his eyes filled with concern.

"Where are you going to sleep?" Julian asked, his voice soft.

Astrid smiled, touching the bed. "I will sleep beside you, like I have been. I am used to it."

Julian’s expression changed, and he looked unhappy.

He stretched his left arm, which wasn’t bandaged, and caressed Astrid’s face with a small smile.

"I don’t want you sleeping like that," Julian said. "I should get discharged, so we can go home."

Astrid refused, shaking her head. "You need medical attention, Julian. You were shot, and we need to run tests to make sure you are okay."

Julian tried to argue with her, but Astrid stood firm.

"You will do what I say, and we won’t argue about it."

Julian couldn’t say anything and just nodded his head in agreement.

Astrid spooned some food into Julian’s mouth, the aroma of the dish wafting up to tease his senses.

The food was a special concoction, designed to help him recover from his injuries.

It was a delicate broth made with tender chunks of chicken, simmered in a rich and flavorful stock infused with the subtle sweetness of carrots and the earthy undertones of celery.

It was served with a side of soft, fluffy rice that had been cooked to perfection, each grain separate and distinct.

As Julian ate it, Astrid watched him, her eyes filled with expectation.

Julian stared at her for a while, a big smile on his face, before saying, "It’s delicious."

Astrid smiled proudly, feeding him another spoonful. "Yay!"

"I finally cooked after some months. I thought I had lost my touch, but I guess I haven’t."

As they ate, Julian’s eyes never left Astrid’s face. He was grateful for her care, and he knew he couldn’t have made it without her.

"I am sorry I put you through this," Julian said, his voice filled with regret.

Astrid’s expression softened, and she placed a hand on his cheek.

"You didn’t put me through anything, Julian. I am just glad you’re okay."

As the night wore on, Astrid started to doze off, her hands wrapped around Julian’s arm. Julian stared at her, a big smile on his face, recalling what his mom had said about how many days Astrid had spent by his side.

Just then, Ryan came in with some guards, carrying a bed.

They set it up beside Astrid, and Julian painfully stood up from his bed, "Boss, you want me to do it?" Ryan asked worriedly, staring at Julian as he wince in pain.

He shook his head, and then carried Astrid placing her on the new bed.

As he tried to leave, Astrid grabbed him, shaking her head. "Don’t leave me," she mumbled in her sleep.

Julian smiled, sitting down beside her despite his pain.

Astrid placed her head on his chest, and Julian wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.

Ryan looked worried, but Julian stopped him. "She’s been through pain for more than two weeks. This is the least I can do."

Ryan shook his head, smiling. "I never knew you could be this kind of lover boy, boss."

Julian smiled, looking at Astrid. "You have no idea, now leave before you lose this month’s salary."

Ryan smiles, "I am on my way boss." he bowed and left, leaving Julian and Astrid alone.

As they sat there, Julian felt a sense of peace wash over him.

Astrid stirred in her sleep, and Julian gently stroked her hair. He felt grateful for her love and care, and he knew he would do anything to make her happy.

As the night wore on, Julian’s pain started to fade, replaced by a sense of contentment.

Astrid’s eyes suddenly flickered open, and she looked up at Julian. "I am sorry I fell asleep," she said, her voice soft.

Julian smiled, his eyes filled with love. "You are tired, Astrid. You have been taking care of me for weeks."

Astrid’s expression softened, and she placed a hand on Julian’s cheek. "You brought in a bed," she mumbled and he nodded his head.

"Typical Julian.." she muttered, "Didn’t you miss how much I spoil you?"

"Ye... yeah... I do.." she slurred sleepily.

Julian’s heart swelled with love, and he wrapped his arms around Astrid, holding her close. "I love you, Astrid," he whispered.

Astrid’s eyes drooped closed tirelessly and she whispered back, "I love you too, Julian."
