Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 246: THE BLOOD GROUP

Chapter 246: THE BLOOD GROUP

Maren paced around in the hospital waiting room, her eyes fixed on the bloodied figures of Mattie and Stephan being wheeled into the emergency unit.

The beeping of machines and murmurs of hushed conversations filled the air as the medical team rushed to attend to the wounded pair.

Stephan men surround her as they are also in a state of shock, seeing their boss shot by the one he loved most.

Just then Tonia burst into the hospital, followed closely by Zach and Miles.

"What happened?" Tonia demanded, her voice trembling as she took in the scene before her, she grabbed Maren’s shirt.

"Mum... relax, she helped them, not hurt them," Miles told his mum as he pulled her hands off Mattie.

Then Zach moved forward himself, "Marek dear, can you explain what had transpired?"

Maren hesitated, unsure of how to explain the events that had led to this moment. When she was arguing with Landon not to go inside, they heard a gunshot from inside.

When she planned to go inside to see what had transpired Landon asked her not to hone, that it would be her cross to carry if anything occurred, she wanted to not go but had no choice since he wouldn’t bear hearing the news of anyone’s death.

"I had planned to reach out to her since she couldn’t be in the crowd for a while so to discuss the contract only for me to come across this," Maren lied not dating to mention a word about Landon but she wanted to fool Miles.

Toni’s eyes welled up with tears as she turned to Zach. "This is all your fault!" she accused, her voice rising. "If you hadn’t forced Mattie into this marriage, none of this would have happened!"

Zach looked stricken, his eyes downcast as he accepted the blame. He was so mad at his daughter that he had never cared about her well-being for the time being. He wanted her to learn a lesson not get hurt.

"I am sorry, Tonia. I never meant for things to go this far."

The sound of rushing footsteps echoed through the hallway as the Rays, Stephan’s family, arrived at the hospital.

"What’s going on?" Mr. Ray demanded, his face pale with worry as his eyes darted between the Adams.

Tonia turned on Stephan’s mother, her anger and fear boiling over. "Your son has been beating Mattie, and now she’s fighting for her life because of your stupid son!"

Mrs. Ray’s expression turned defensive, she never knew her son to be violent and is still in shock to find out this side of her son.

"Well, Mattie never complained about Stephan’s behavior before. We had no idea things were this bad."

Miles stepped forward, and he turned to Maren. "What exactly happened, Maren, can you tell us what you saw?"

Maren took a deep breath, trying to process the events of the evening.

"I...I think they were fighting like they usually do. But this time, it escalated. Mattie must have felt threatened, because of Stephan, so she shot at him for defense."

They all turned mute hearing this, as Maren also sighed with a guilt-filled face knowing that she had played a part in the events that had led to this moment.

"So the thing is that your daughter shot my son!" she yelled. "I will make you pay for this!"

But Tonia fired back, "My daughter must have been frustrated, she’s been living in hell with your son."

Mrs Ray, not also accepting Tonia’s accusation, replied Tonia and the two mothers began arguing, their voices rising in a heated exchange.

Zach and Mr. Ray, stood by, rolling their eyes in frustration.

Miles intervenes in the two parents’ fight, as he pulls his mum. "Let’s not argue about this now. We need to focus on Stephan and Mattie’s recovery."

Just then, the doctor rushed out of the emergency room, looking grim. They all rushed toward the doctor at once asking a series of questions.

"How Is my son? How is my daughter? They are doing fine, right? It isn’t that serious right?"

"I am sorry but I am only here to talk with Miss Mattie’s parents." Tonia quickly tapped her chest, "I am the one talking to me, I am her mum."

"I am afraid Mattie has lost the fetus, but we quickly need to save her by administering blood transfusions immediately."

Tonia rushed forward, her eyes welling up with tears. "I will donate blood for my daughter. She’s my child, I am sure our blood types match."

The doctor nodded, leading Tonia away to prepare for the blood donation. Then Zach butted in,

"Wait, we should both donate blood. If Mattie’s blood type doesn’t match with Tonia’s, we can use mine." the doctor nodded as he took them away.

Miles sighed tiredly, watching as the two parents were led away to donate blood. Maren approached him, concern etched on her face.

"What’s wrong, Miles?" she asked.

Miles hesitated, his eyes scanning the hospital corridor. "I don’t know...but I have a bad feeling about this."

Just then, Stephan was wheeled out of the emergency room, "Oh my poor baby!" Mrs Ray cried as she followed closely behind. "We will take him to the ICU," the doctor explained.

"Thank goodness the bullet didn’t pierce deep," he added, Mr. Ray let out a breath of relief along with Miles.

Then they both followed the doctor to his office, as they disappeared around the corner, Maren turned to Miles. "I’m going to call Astrid and fill her in on what’s happening."

Miles nodded, his eyes still scanning the corridor. "Go ahead."

Maren stepped aside to make the call, and just then, Tonia and Zach returned, looking worried.

Almost an hour later the doctor came forward, having a grim expression now putting the parent on edge.

"What’s taking so long? The blood transfusion should begin now." Tonia demanded.

The doctor hesitated, looking uncomfortable. "I am afraid neither of your blood types matches with Mattie’s."

Toni’s eyes widened in shock. "What are you talking about? I am her mother, I have been taking care of her since she was an infant, I carried her for nine months." she let out in a state of shock

Then the doctor explained further, "Mattie’s blood type is O positive, while both of you are A and AB. If you were to donate blood, it could be potentially life-threatening for Mattie."

Toni grabbed the doctor’s shirt, her voice shaking with rage. "That child is mine. How can her blood type not match with mine?"

The doctor bowed, apologizing. "I am afraid we will need to run some further tests, possibly a DNA test, to clarify the situation but for now we are after the blood transfusion." Zach on the other hand could only stay still not understanding what was happening.

Just then Maren stepped forward, her voice calm. "I am an O positive, I can donate blood for Mattie."

The doctor’s face lit up with relief. "Thank you, we will prepare for the blood transfusion immediately."

As the doctor rushed off, Tonia collapsed to the ground, shaking her head in denial. "No, this can’t be happening. Mattie is my child, I have been taking care of her since she was a baby."

Zach tried to comfort her, his voice soft. "We will handle this, Tonia. We just need to focus on Mattie’s recovery for now."

Just then, Miles and Zach received phone calls simultaneously. They exchanged a worried glance, answering their phones.

As they listened to the news, their faces fell. "The video of Stephan beating Mattie has been released online," Miles explained, his voice grim. "And it’s going viral."

The hospital corridor erupted into chaos, with reporters and camera crews rushing to get a statement from Adams’s family.
