Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 234: MORE ABOUT HER FATHER

Chapter 234: MORE ABOUT HER FATHER

Astrid’s world shattered as Josh’s words sank into her head. She fell to the ground, her mouth a Jr as they stared into Josh’s smirking face.

The pain piercing into her heart was like a thousand knives stabbing her repeatedly, each one seeping deeper and deeper into her soul.

"Why?" she whispered, her voice trembling with anguish, she tried to stabilize her lips as she slapped her hands around them.

"Why didn’t my mother tell me? Why did you keep this all to yourself? Why didn’t you just abandon me? Why?"

Josh burst out laughing, the sound sending more pain into her heart. Julian’s face darkened with anger, and he slapped Josh across the face, yelling, "Answer her question!"

Josh’s laughter died down, and he pored at Astrid with a look of astonishment.

"It’s better that way, Astrid," he sneered. "Maybe because your mother never wanted you to have the identity of a killer. Landon, your father, is a monster. He’s a ruthless killer who wouldn’t think twice before taking someone’s life." he leaned further to the fallen, hurting Astrid as he continued.

"Your mother, Elizabeth, was supposed to marry Zach Adam, but she cheated on him with Landon. The Adam family couldn’t bear the embarrassment, so they made Tonia marry Zach instead." he scoffed, having a teasing smile as if recalling the moment.

"Your mother felt embarrassed, her image tarnished, and she left for good without anyone knowing where she went."

Astrid’s mind whirled in shock, her thoughts racing at the devastating revelations from Josh.

Her father, a killer? Her mother’s secrets and lies? She would have been related to the Adam family from the beginning but her mum stopped it. Each new truth was a fresh blow to her, she didn’t think she would be able to take in more truth but still wanted to know more even though she knew it would only shatter her heart into pieces.

"But why?" Astrid whispered again, her voice cracking with pain. "Why did my mother leave me? Why did she keep this secret from me?"

Josh’s smirk returned, and he took a step closer to Astrid. "You want to know the truth, Astrid? Your mother left you because she was ashamed. Ashamed of what she had done, ashamed of who she had become. She didn’t want you to know the truth about your father, about her past. She wanted to protect you, but in doing so, she only hurt you more."

Astrid’s eyes filled with tears as she leered up at Josh. "You are lying," she whispered, her voice trembling with anger. "My mother would never do that. She loved me."

Josh’s laughter returned, "You are so naive, Astrid. You think you know your mother, but you don’t. You don’t know the truth about her, about your family. But I do. And I am the only one who can save you"

Astrid’s pain turned to anger, and she launched herself at Josh, but Julian caught her, holding her back. "Don’t, Astrid," he whispered. "He’s not worth it."

"You all are monsters!" "She cried out "You are no different from my so-called father."

Josh’s smile faltered, and for a moment, Astrid saw a glimmer of something else in his eyes. Something that looked almost like pain. But it was quickly replaced by his usual smirk.

"Maybe I am," he affirmed.

"But remember you are only living your current life because of me. You are not the daughter of a killer because of me. You should be thanking me, Astrid. You should be happy you are Daniel!"

Astrid shook her head, "No... I shouldn’t have been in this world! You should have just ended me! You didn’t like me, you should have just killed me instead of making me go through this pain."

She stood from the ground and then glanced at Julian, "Let him go, I will need him in the future." she pleaded with Julian.

"I should probably go home now." she asserted but Julian was ready, he needed to ask Josh some questions also.

"How about your dad?" Josh let out again, making her halt her track, "Do you want to see his picture? You don’t want to know more about him?" Josh teased her more. He had always enjoyed watching her suffer.

Astrid turned back to him, "You won! All I need is his graveyard... and a picture, then I will visit him myself." Astrid let out.

"For pictures I don’t have but for his graveyard, he never lived a life that would earn him one so accepted the fact that I will always be your father."

That was the last straw for Julian, he loomed over Josh, kicking him on his chest making the chair make an impact on the ground.

Ryan, like always, was quick to pull the chair back up, "What do you know about the attack on Astrid a few days ago?" he demanded.

Josh winced, still recovering from what blow he just received. "I don’t know anything," he answered.

Julian chuckled at this and squatted his grip on Josh’s leg tightened, twisting it cruelly.

"Ahh! Mother fucker! That hurt!" Josh cried out struggling but that wasn’t helping him a bit.

"You’re no longer my father-in-law, Josh. I can do whatever I want to you now, especially now that you hurt my wife."

Josh squirmed in distress, his face contorted in pain. "It... it wasn’t just me," he gasped. "Don’t focus on me alone!"

"Who is the second person!" Julian fired and Astrid could only avoid this brutal scene by backing then shutting her eyes.

Josh breathed out with every ounce of strength left in him, while Julian’s eyes narrowed. "I will get to the bottom of this, Josh. I will find out who else was involved, and if I do myself your suffering would increase." Josh looked down at him and snorted at this.

"I know there were two attackers, the one who was to kill and the one who came from another business."

Josh’s eyes darted wildly, but he wasn’t ready to talk. "I also found out that Mattie isn’t Tonia’s daughter, which means something must have happened between you and Tonia."

Josh’s face turned red with rage, "No! There’s nothing between me and Tonia! It’s just business!"

"So Tonia is the other person working with you?" Julian asked, his voice cold. Josh’s face crumpled as if he had just made a mistake while talking.

"No! That’s not what I meant!"

But the damage was done. Julian’s eyes flashed with understanding, and he nodded. "I have found some key evidence, Josh. It seems Tonia was involved in Astrid’s attack."

"Julian, we need to leave now." Astrid intervened immediately, she was tired already.

Julian’s gaze flicked to Astrid, and he nodded and moved toward her but stopped again.

"This house belongs to Elizabeth, and I received an anonymous message to bring you here. I will use you as bait, Josh, so I can’t seem to find the other attacker."

With that, Julian turned and walked away, Ryan looked down at Josh, "Release him," he ordered and the other guards rushed toward Josh.

"Find your way out of the mansion in a few minutes or you might even lose your life."

Ryan announced and also walked with the remaking guards following closely behind.

"Hey! You need to help me! I am your madam father! I can’t walk!"Josh was left screaming for help, but his cries were ignored. He struggled to his weak feet, stumbling out of the door.

As he walked out of the mansion, he was left in awe, the same mansion he had always wanted to get from Elizabeth. "I will be back for you!" He tried to move but fell to the ground because of his wobbling leg.

"Damn! That bitch! I will make sure to kill her myself!" he yelled about to stand up Josh’s eyes landed on a pair of feet. He looked up, his breath catching in his throat as he took hold of the figure.

"You..." he whispered, his eyes wide with fear.

And then, everything went black as a wooden plank came crashing down on his head.
