Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 109: FAMILY BREAKFAST

Chapter 109: FAMILY BREAKFAST

Desmond’s face reddened with anger as he kicked his Julian. "I don’t want to see you near Adams’ daughter again, what exactly don’t you understand?" he thundered, his voice echoing through the room.

Julian’s eyes flashed in pain as he glared at his father.

"Dad, I can handle this," he protested, his voice laced with frustration.

But this irritated him more with a swift movement, he kicked Julian’s feet out from under him, sending him crashing to the ground. The loud thud echoed through the room.

"Fuck! Dad!" Julian yelped, rubbing his sore backside.

Desmond’s expression remained unyielding. "Stick to your wife, and everything will go smoothly," he spat, in anger. "I won’t let you jeopardize our family’s reputation."

Julian’s face contorted in desperation. "Dad, you can’t just hate Adams because of one mistake, you have been friends for years," he pleaded.

"I invested my time and resources into this project. And now, because of her recklessness, it’s all at risk." Julian is aware that his dad doesn’t butt into his relationship issue. Seeing his reaction proves that he is over with accepting Mattie.

"I will talk to Mattie about this," he let out a bit of frustration.

Desmond’s eyes narrowed. "Son, why didn’t you listen to me?" he demanded.

Julian’s voice cracked, the guilt present in his eyes.

"Dad, I was supposed to marry her before all this happened. She even had an accident and lost her memory. I can’t just abandon her."

Desmond grasped his head, his mind racing. "Are you telling me that despite the losses I have faced, you still want to communicate with the source of it all?" he asked incredulously.

Julian’s eyes dropped, his voice barely above a whisper. "She’s...different now, Dad. I promise I will make it right."

Desmond’s face twisted in disgust. "You’re blinded by your feelings, Julian. That girl will be your downfall."

"I won’t give up on her, Dad, Not now, not ever."

The air was thick with tension as Desmond’s anger struggled to consume him.

"Fine, I am no longer butting into your life, I think I have done my best as a father, don’t come to me when you lose Astrid and the regret kicks in,"

Desmond glanced around his room to see Mattie’s picture on his nightstand, he rolled his eyes and walked off leaving Julian in a state of turmoil.

Desmond got down the stairs to see Astrid and his wife getting along together in the dining room while Josh just kept eating his food.

He wasn’t partnering up with Josh because of Josh’s business or ideas but doing it for Astrid.

He had seen how much capability she had and he was ready to groom her and make her the best of herself.

"Already having breakfast without me?" Becky smiled, gesturing for her husband to sit beside her.

Astrid looked up and smiled gently "Oh... Mr..." her eyes met with Anecky, she had corrected her a few minutes ago to call them dad and mum since they were her husband’s parents.

Josh on the under hand wasn’t accepting the closeness between Astrid and the Logans.

He can’t help but ponder how she had won their heart easily despite how she had shown up in their lives.

"Dad, I should help you with.." She told him to help him serve his breakfast.

Desmond smiled watching her, "Josh you sure teach your daughter the basis of being a daughter," Josh let out a small smile.

"I am proud to have her as my daughter-in-law," Astrid glanced at Desmond with a smile she hadn’t gotten that kind of compliment before.

She is like a disgrace to her parents and her own family, "Thanks for that Dad," she let out.

Desmond was about to talk when Maren walked into the room, looking a bit tired but still radiant. It shows that the soup had helped her.

"Hey, what’s going on? Why wasn’t I invited to this meeting?" she asked, her bubbly personality filling the space.

Astrid immediately stood up, concern etched on her face. "Maren, how are you feeling? You still look a bit pale."

Maren waved her hand dismissively. "I am fine, just a minor cold. Don’t worry about me."

Desmond’s expression softened. "We are glad you’re here, Maren."

Josh shifted uncomfortably in his seat, swallowing hard.

And she smiled warmly. "It’s my pleasure to do so.".

Then Desmond glanced at Astrid, "I went through the contract and was impressed. You corrected it effortlessly."

"It’s nothing, sir, it’s my job," she replied excitedly.

"You seem to have a natural sense of architecture. It was effortless and perfect."

Then Desmond leaned forward, intrigued. "You must have had great guidance."

Astrid eyes sparkled. "My mum is a perfectionist when it comes to her architectural sense and even though I am just a high school dropout, I didn’t miss the opportunity to learn from her the little years I had shared with her."

Her tone changed and her face dropped at the thought of her mum still being in the hospital.

The table fell silent until Desmond broke the silence. "You must be close to your mum."

Astrid gaze met Josh’s, that knowing look passed between them.

Astrid’s attention then darted to weak Maren when she coughed.

"Are you sure you’re feeling okay?"

This time Julian’s parents exchanged a worried glance. "What is wrong?"Becky asked, her tone laced with worry.

"She’s been feeling under the weather lately," Astrid explained.

Desmond’s expression turned thoughtful. "Well make sure to take care of yourself"

"Yes, I will, thanks Mr. Logan" she responded and that was when Julian joined this table this time around.

"Maren, I can see you now live here. I hope you will be able to beat the time frame of the launch?"

"Of course sir, Astrid has been doing great with her diet and exercise." Maren praises recalling how she had pushed her past her limit in the morning.

"Time frame for what?" Julian asked curiously and Desmond refused to heave out a word leaving him and Josh confused.

"Son, your father wants her to be the face of the new airline he will be launching, she would also be the model we will be working with since her idea is also imbibed in the contract he has with her father."

"What?"

Julian barked out and Astrid felt sad at this, "Dad, that Mattie spot, she would.."

"I no longer work with Adams. I don’t understand why you are going to start another issue about this." He roared and everyone turned silent again seeing the anger smithing from him.

"Dad! Please we talk about this, Mattie..." Desmond hit the table stopping him from talking.

"It’s my airline, if you are not satisfied with it then you can give the position of your company to her."

After this nobody said anything and they just had their breakfast in a solemn silence.

It was time for Logan to leave and then,

Becky’s eyes sparkled as she gazed at Astrid, her expression filled with admiration.

"Darling, I can see Maren is doing an exceptional job," she said, with a big smile as she stared down at Astrid’s body.

Astrid face lit up with a warm smile as she looked at Astrid. "Haven’t seen much difference, thanks for the praises, Mum," Astrid replied, her eyes cast downward, excitement radiating from her.

Then Becky’s expression turned serious, her voice filled with sincerity.

"You don’t have to force yourself to bend to society’s expectations," she said, pulling Astrid into a gentle embrace.

"Try to stand up for yourself when treated wrongfully, it doesn’t matter whose daughter that person is. You are Mrs. Logan, act like it to the world and never allow anyone to step on you."

Astrid’s gaze met Maren’s, and they exchanged a knowing glance. Maren’s lips curled into a subtle smile, her eyes shining with understanding.

As they shared the tender moment, Astrid’s thoughts drifted to the former maids who had worked for her.

The maid’s words echoed in her mind, saying "They might have turned over a new leaf, but Becky must have seen the beginning of their cruelty, fueled by Mattoe."

Becky’s voice broke the silence. "My birthday is next week, son. I want to see you there, no excuses."

Julian’s eyes narrowed slightly. "Maren, make sure she looks stunning, I won’t have anyone looking down on her as my wife."

Maren nodded, her expression thoughtful.

As they walked toward the car, Desmond turned to his son, his voice low and cautionary. "Be careful who you give your heart to, son. You don’t want to regret it."

Julian’s gaze lingered on his father’s serious expression before nodding curtly.

Desmond’s eyes lingered on his son, concern etched on his face. He knew Julian’s relationships and the potential dangers lurking in the shadows.

As they drove away, Astrid’s thoughts swirled with emotions. She knew she had found a true ally in Becky, and with Maren by her side, she felt a sense of belonging.
