Chapter 1092: Chapter 149: Unbearable to Look At, Simply Unbearable! (6500)_2

“Understood, sir!”

The crew member saluted without hesitation and went to carry out the orders. Although Master Gravie had an awkward status, that was only concerning the high council. For us ordinary people, an Alchemy Master who returned welcomed by the honor of the entire Federation was undoubtedly the highest authority.

What’s more, how could Master Gravie possibly harm them?

Catching these Magical Beasts wasn’t difficult. In fact, during the initial encounter of the ambush, some Magical Beasts had climbed onto the Siren ship. Most of them were repelled by the crew, but some were captured for analysis.

Very quickly, under the respectful guidance of the crew, Ian and Master Gravie arrived at the storage room on the second floor, where there were three quite intact and still somewhat active Magical Beasts’ corpses.

“…Pheromones… you’re planning to artificially synthesize pheromones to disrupt the cognition of these Magical Beasts?”

Master Gravie watched as Ian skillfully took out various tools and started dissecting the Magical Beasts, extracting various glands hidden within their flesh and organs.

Terra Beasts do not solely rely on pheromones for communication; Origin Quality also serves as a means of bearing information. But this instead gives Alchemists an opportunity—various confusing and aphrodisiac potions are concocted to disrupt the sensory systems of the Magical Beasts, and professional Alchemists are definitely proficient in this field.

He already understood Ian’s line of thought, but still furrowed his brows: “But that can only target wild beasts and First Energy Level Magical Beasts… The Second Energy Level ones already have souls and can resist instinctual impulses. And in the presence of Third Energy Level Beast Kings, as long as there is a Spirit Energy order from the Beast King, their clan’s Magical Beasts would fight even during mating season, and retreat immediately even when blinded by bloodlust.”

“Don’t worry.”

Ian’s knife twirled in his hand, nimbly extracting a gland the size of a fist from the scaled, bony flesh: “They won’t have any orders.”

A gleam of silvery-blue illuminated the young man’s eyes as he scanned this gland inside and out, turning his back on the master, his tone confident: “Even if there are orders, they absolutely won’t be able to convey them.”

“As long as it’s Spirit Energy, it’s impossible.”

“…Can this Imperial Alchemist be trusted?”

The storage room wasn’t just occupied by Ian and the master; the Siren’s first mate and several other Alchemists were also watching.

Using Magical Beasts’ bodies in this manner is no big deal, but Master Gravie is someone the captain emphasized must be taken special care of.

The Descendants of the Sea first mate looked suspiciously, whispering to the accompanying ship Alchemist nearby, “I heard you say this young man is quite famous, but being so young… why isn’t Master Gravie himself taking action?”

This suspicion couldn’t be blamed on him; the Siren’s current situation wasn’t as good as it appeared.

In the first wave of Sea Beast assaults, three of the Siren’s five propellers were destroyed. Upon inspection, it was found that someone had placed bait there to lure the Sea Beasts to attack.

In other words, the Siren has now lost much of its propulsion and can only remain stationary, passively responding to enemy attacks.

Though there remains backup power and Inscription Craftsmen are working overtime to repair, without Captain Elden’s return, they cannot shake off the pursuit of the Sea Beasts.

But Captain Elden has to hold off three Beast Kings. Whether he can hold them off is another question entirely. Even if he can, it means that at this critical moment, the Siren will completely lose its last artificial power source.

This news cannot spread. Should panic arise within the ship, the defense line will collapse, and then the Siren, which originally still had the power to fight back, would be easily taken by the Sea Beasts.

“Ian Silverpeak is the inventor of several of The Empire’s new warfare coatings and the hot new star in the Alchemy Field today!”

The on-board Alchemist appeared excited, almost reverently looking at Ian: “First mate, you’re not an Alchemist, so you don’t know. This young man you speak of has already made it to this year’s annual Alchemist list in the ‘Logos’—not the new talent list, but the annual list competing alongside all veteran Alchemy Masters!”

“Master Gravie must surely trust in Mr. Ian’s abilities. Due to age and lack of energy, that’s why he’s letting him take action!”

Master Gravie didn’t say much. He stood quietly to the side, watching Ian.

He observed Ian extracting all the glands from the three types of Magical Beasts. Then, using his portable alchemical setup, Ian refined key pheromone samples and began, right there with gathered materials, using the flesh of these Magical Beasts as raw materials, mass-producing pheromones with ‘Feeding’, ‘Mating’, and ‘Frenzy’ commands.

Initially, the master had a doubt that went unsaid… even if the Beast Kings don’t give orders, refining and concocting these Magical Beasts’ pheromones to create targeted fanatical and aphrodisiac potions takes quite a long time. Simply distinguishing which pheromone corresponds to which command is challenging enough, let alone confirming the experimental effects.

But when he saw Ian start the Alchemy process directly in the storage room, Master Gravie was shocked.

Too fast!

How should one describe Ian’s Alchemy speed? Artistic? Concise? Or perhaps pure?

There wasn’t the slightest unnecessary move; every step was the most correct and fastest choice. As a fellow Alchemist, Master Gravie knew this required not just exceptional skill and deep knowledge, but absolute ‘confidence’ in oneself!
