Chapter 1348: Chapter 1350: Taking Care of the Little Wife_1

What Sangta held in his hand was the severed hand that had been chopped off from Jin Jing’s arm!

There wasn’t a drop of fresh blood at the cut of the severed hand, and it even had a greenish hue, looking almost like a fake hand meant to scare people. However, Bai Ruozhu had excellent vision, and even from a distance, she could see clearly that it was indeed a real human hand, and moreover, a right hand.

She quickly came to her senses, her eyes widening as she asked, "Is it Jin Jing’s hand?"

Sangta showed a look of admiration, "You’re worthy of the woman I have set my eyes on. Any other woman would have probably started crying by now."

"Are you looking for death?" Jiang Yichun, dissatisfied, charged over and started fighting with Sangta again.

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth twitched, and she said angrily, "Prince Sangta, just how much do you hate me to do something like this?"

The sovereign, upon hearing this, also silently thought that what Sangta described as "the woman I have set my eyes on" was just to mess with Bai Ruozhu. Otherwise, who would give a severed hand as a gift to a woman they liked...

While fighting with Jiang Yichun, Sangta said, "I came sincerely to give a gift. Are you going to accept it or not?"

"No! Take it away immediately!" Bai Ruozhu yelled angrily.

A smug look crossed Jiang Yichun’s face, thinking that this barbarian still lacked subtlety in coveting his woman. To send a gift that could almost anger someone to death, unlike him, who always gifted things that touched his lady’s heart.

Sangta was not angered, but he did not engage Jiang Yichun with full effort either. Instead, he threw the severed hand towards Bai Ruozhu, shouting, "I’m giving it to you, so just keep it. I can’t be bothered to deal with that ice-cold face. I’m out of here!"

After saying that, he quickly ran off, even without bidding farewell to the sovereign.

Bai Ruozhu almost got hit by the severed hand he threw over, but it was only by dodging to the side that the hand landed on the ground.

The sovereign’s mouth twitched, and he couldn’t believe for the life of him that Sangta meant what he said about fancying Lin Zhu. Only a ghost would believe that!

Jiang Yichun jumped to Bai Ruozhu’s side and wrapped his arms around her slender waist, saying, "Don’t worry, I’ll have someone throw it to the dogs."

"Don’t!" Bai Ruozhu exclaimed, "Don’t let the dogs get killed by it, that’s animal cruelty. I’ll think of a way to burn it instead."

The sovereign, looking at the severed hand and seeing how this couple looked at it unflinchingly, felt uncomfortable all over and hurriedly said, "Then you two discuss it. I have state affairs to attend to and must leave now."

The couple respectfully saw the sovereign off, and no sooner had he left than Bai Ruozhu said, "Is that Sangta insane or what, he even scared the sovereign pale."

The sovereign stumbled, unable to resist touching his own face. Was his face really that pale? Did he show cowardice?

Jiang Yichun, however, pressed Bai Ruozhu against a nearby pillar, his face disgruntled as he said, "Wife, do you take too much pleasure in talking about how Jin Jing fancies me?"

Without missing a beat, Bai Ruozhu replied, "I’m stating facts. If she doesn’t fancy you, does she fancy me? It’s not like we’re in a romantic sitcom."

"You’re still not allowed to say it! Always mentioning being fancied by that kind of woman, your husband here feels very embarrassed," he ground his teeth, looking like the big bad wolf ready to pounce on the innocent rabbit, "And today, you even dared to say that I attract troublemakers like Tao Hua. When have I ever provoked her?"

Bai Ruozhu suddenly had a bad premonition and hastily said with a forced smile, "Right, right, you didn’t provoke her. It’s all her being besotted and too persistent, nothing to do with you."

"Hmph, it’s too late to talk about this now," Jiang Yichun sneered, suddenly scooped her up in his arms, and, in front of Jianqi and the others, strode towards the Rest Room.

"Ahhh, what are you doing, you’re so embarrassing in broad daylight!" Bai Ruozhu glanced at Muyu’s mischievous grin and her face flushed red all the way to her neck in an instant.

He didn’t stop walking, holding her tightly with both arms, no matter how much she resisted, it was useless, "It doesn’t matter, there are no outsiders anyway."

"But that disgusting hand is still there, shouldn’t we deal with that hand first?" Bai Ruozhu desperately grasped for an excuse.

Jiang Yichun chuckled mischievously, "No worries, just let Muyu keep an eye on it."

Muyu was already petrified at the side, why was it always him? Chenfeng laughed and patted him on the shoulder, whispering, "Keep a close eye on it, don’t let it escape, I’m going to have a meal first."

Muyu wanted to cry but had no tears. The master had already carried the madam into the room, and who knows how long they would be up to antics, was he really supposed to keep company with this disgusting severed hand?

God, he also wanted a woman, not a woman’s severed hand...

The unexpected assassination attempt in the Holy Hall today had scared Jiang Yichun terribly, and with the jealousy caused by Sangta Prince’s recent visit, he was especially crazy today. Bai Ruozhu’s resistance was futile, she could only let him have his way, and eventually, she was lost in his tenderness and fervor...

...

Jin Jing didn’t want to find Honglian, nor did she dare to seek her out. Her mission for the day had failed, and she didn’t yet know what punishment she would receive. But with one hand gone and in so much pain she could barely walk, she had no choice but to return to Honglian, who was the only one who could relieve her pain.

When she entered Honglian’s room, she did not expect Honglian to be unexpectedly calm, not throwing things around or beating her at first sight.

Yet, it was precisely this calm demeanor from Honglian that filled her with greater fear. She was afraid that Honglian would simply write her off as a lost cause and let her die. Although she lived in agony and thought about death more than once, she didn’t truly want to die. She was not content, she hadn’t stolen that man over yet, why should she die? She suffered so much, she couldn’t let all her suffering be in vain!

Honglian’s lips curled upward, casting a casual glance at Jin Jing, and asked, "What, are you afraid? Afraid that I will kill you?"

Jin Jing shivered, and humbly pleaded, "Holy Maiden, I’m useless, please give me another chance."

Honglian sniffed, "It seems you’re quite badly injured."

Jin Jing trembled as she extended her severed hand, "I don’t know what Sangta used to chop off my hand in an instant, he even warned me not to touch Lin Zhu."

"He’s meddling too much, but since your assassination attempt failed, let Lin Zhu live for now, I have other uses for her," Honglian said, her eyes flashing with anger, but as she continued, she brightened, seemingly plotting something in her mind.

"Holy Maiden, I really can’t bear the pain anymore, please help me," Jin Jing begged without any concern for her dignity.

Honglian laughed, "What can I do? You should just eat more fresh flesh and blood, that’ll do you good. But make sure you’re not discovered, or else I can’t save you."

"How can you have no way to help? I’ve already become like this, can’t you make it more bearable for me?" Jin Jing said somewhat desperately.

Honglian sneered coldly, "Why should I make it bearable for you? When have I ever had it easy with you as my sister? Every time I see your face, and your stupidity that’s enough to make one sick, I wish I could kill you. But, I don’t want you to die that easily."
