Chapter 97: Fishing Competition Part 2

"Burp... Excuse me," Elaina couldn’t help but burp after eating a lot of food and she covered her mouth embarrassed after doing so.

Perhaps due to her sudden craving to eat, she has gorged herself to the point that she is satisfied, not realizing she has eaten quite a lot.

"My appetite has increased ever since I became pregnant. If I didn’t do any work on the farm, I am quite sure I would become fat immediately."

Elaina rubs her belly and she can tell it is growing steadily. She is not upset at going fat herself as she doesn’t care much about her figure. She is more worried that her kids might not be getting enough nutrition.

After filling her stomach to its fill, she bought the share for Julia and Princess Margaux and returned to the camp. She had to relax and wait for the upcoming fishing contest and she needed all the energy to prepare for the contest.

The beach is getting more crowded as more and more people come to celebrate the beach festival. The number of people walking around in their swimsuits is also increasing as well and for Elaina, this is something new an experience. She can feel the summer in the air already.

When she arrived, the two girls were already wearing their swimsuits. Julia is wearing her violet-colored swimsuit. She wears shorts over her underwear, making it a casual summer look. As for Princess Margaux, she has a more innocent frilly-type swimsuit instead of a casual one. It does fit Princess Margaux a lot but no one can tell that Princess Margaux is the princess if no one recognizes her. Her long hair is tied in a bun this time around, making her a bit more different than she usually looks.

"You guys have changed to your swimsuits," Elaina said as she put down the food that she bought for them.

"We will go for a swim later. It would be a waste of our swimsuits if we don’t even try to have a good swim," Julia smiled as she started to check on what Elaina bought.

Princess Margaux noticed the bracelet on Elaina’s arm and immediately recognized it.

"Miss Elaina, you joined the Fishing Competition?"

"Yeah. I saw the signups when I was looking for food and decided to join. It would be a waste to not join and experience fishing in the sea," Elaina smiled as she raised her arm with the bracelet.

"It looks crude," Julia inspected the bracelet.

"It was made like that since it was only used as a little alarm device to remind participants to get ready. It was done like that to ensure that no one would decide to sell it for money instead. No one would care to sell this somewhere if it wasn’t a valuable piece of jewelry so the common metal, Iron is instead used."

She now understands why it was like this and she can only say that it is indeed a smart move to combat thieves.

"Still, Miss Elaina, this will take a while, aren’t you going to be bored to death before you are done fishing?"

"Nah, I like fishing and I don’t mind waiting. You have seen me fish for quite a while back on the farm. So fishing in other places doesn’t change much aside from the scenery and the fish I am going to get."

"Hehe, if you didn’t run away from your husband Sis, you might not be enjoying this festival at all. Maybe me as well! I will be stuck in the kitchen all day without rest perhaps," Julia commented.

Elaina nodded as she agreed with Julia’s comment. If she hadn’t run away and decided to live in the Darcero Kingdom, experiencing new experiences would not be something she would have experienced at all. Perhaps Elaina should thank the debauchery of her husband and sister for this new experience.

She quickly shook her head. She will not thank both of them for ruining her marriage. This happened because she have chosen to escape instead of becoming a martyr for her husband. She is not grateful for them, instead, she would rather hope she would not see them again after the 1-year ban.

"Sis, we will go for a swim now. Are you going to stay here for a while?" Julia asked.

"Yeah. I will be waiting for the contest to begin. You guys can go and play but don’t go too far from the shore, alright? The monsters in the sea are still present and it’s not a good idea to just venture there while swimming."

"YES, YES!" Princess Margaux happily jumped in excitement before the two headed to the sea for a swim and joined countless others who also started to dip into the water.

As for Elaina, she pulled out her fishing rod and the bait supply she dug up before. The fishing rod is not that sturdy compared to what Lorenzo is selling but Elaina is fine with that. And it isn’t like she cares about winning, more like she cares more about fishing a lot of fish to satisfy her little hobby and also to open up the locked page.

She made a few preparations as well for carrying the fish. She bought her little storage bag to carry the two baskets she used for carrying fish whenever she fished on the stream. It might not be a good container but since it didn’t really matter, the basket would do just fine.

While Elaina continues her preparations, the bracelet starts to glow, showing that the fishing contest will soon begin and they are now calling the participants to go to the venue for the contest is about to begin.

"[Dear Elaina, good luck on the contest! We know you will win this one!]" the Goddess of Taming cheered on Elaina giving even a little emoticon of cheering on her little message.

"[I have seen your efforts in fishing. I can see why you are confident but please be careful out there. Just because you are getting comfy in fishing doesn’t mean it is fine to lower your guard. But I hope you indeed win on this one. If you have unlocked the fishing page, the God of Fishing himself would be the one going to be cheering for you but since you still haven’t, we will be watching the contest closely.]" The God of Farming didn’t cheer as much as the Goddess of Taming but he did cheer for Elaina’s success as well.

"Don’t worry. Even if I don’t win, I know I did my best."

Elaina put her sword on her hip in self-defense while fishing on the sea and her fishing tools: a fishing rod, a spare bobber, and her bait collection.

She can see a few people look at her with surprise as she readies her gear and although Elaina doesn’t understand it at first, Elaina doesn’t mind it and heads to the venue where the contestants are gathering. When she arrived at the area where the contestants were gathered, she immediately knew why the other people were looking at her.

All of the contestants aside from one buff woman are men. Elaina can also tell that these contestants are veterans of fishing as well based on their form and their aura alone. Which also means, she is competing against professionals in terms of fishing.

A few more fishermen joined the group after she mixed herself with the group and after a while, the two emcees of the contest started to talk using magic to increase the volume of their voices. They are standing on the big stage and with their appearance, is also the gathering of the people in front of the stage.

"Hello and welcome everyone to our annual opening of the Beach! We are officially in Beach Season now!" the male emcee hyped the crowd causing everyone to join in for the cheer.

"It is so good for everyone to join us at this festival every year and I can’t believe that both the tourists and locals are enjoying this festival every year without fail. I can even see a few new faces that I usually don’t see every summer event. Welcome both newcomers and veterans of this festival! It is so good for everyone to enjoy this event at long last!" the female emcee smiled brightly at the audience which caused to cheer the audience including the fishermen as well.

"For newcomers, we will reintroduce ourselves. Just call me A, your hyped summer boy," A, the male emcee then looked at his partner.

"And I am Z, the surfer of the beach, bringing you the latest update and also giving a live commentary to everything happening that involves the sea itself and the beach!"

"Indeed! And now, before our opening ceremony commences, we will first begin our first contest to ensure that the moment the competition is over, we can also move to the next part of the celebration as well."

"Yes indeed, Partner, I know everyone is excited as well. What would our fishermen snag on their lines this time around? Perhaps a great fish? Or perhaps an exotic one? Whatever it is, we will officially commence the Fishing Competition!"

Elaina steeled herself. Even if this is a friendly competition, she will not just not bother trying hard. She will try her best to beat the competitors fair and square and win the competition.
