Chapter 82: Confrontation Drama

"Hello, Mother and Father. It seems we have met again."

The other people that her parents brought over also entered without even permission of Elaina to casually enter like that. She looked at them one by one and she recognized most of them. After all, they are part of the squadron tasked to protect her Mother and Father while they go on their ventures and business.

Elaina’s casual remark to her Father’s words seems to have hit some nerve as he started to get angry.

"Elaina, are you going to start disobeying us now? Don’t you know how much of an embarrassment you have been ever since you left the kingdom? You have shaken things up to the point that even the citizens are now not sure what is happening."

Casually shrugging, Elaina sighed. "And? Are you all just here to nag about it?"

"YOU HAVE ABANDONED YOUR DUTIES AS THE EMPRESS OF THE LUMINIERA KINGDOM, YOU INGRATE! DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND? YOUR DISAPPEARANCE ALONE IS ENOUGH TO SHAKE THE KINGDOM AND NOW YOU ARE ACTING LIKE THIS?"

"Ha. What a joke. I was just an empress. Nothing more, nothing less, Father. The one who has the real power over the things in the kingdom is none other than the Emperor himself. If my disappearance alone is enough to shake the kingdom, then perhaps crumbling that same kingdom is enough to destroy it completely. That alone proves that the Emperor himself is useless."

Hearing this, the minister who is listening on the side didn’t like what Elaina was implying.

"Hey watch what you are saying! How dare you disrespect the Emperor!"

But as soon as he opened he finished his sentence, a cold glare landed on him and he felt like he was about to melt just being stared at.

"So what? He is my husband. And I am technically still the Empress since we didn’t even have any sort of divorce. Are you even saying I am not qualified to criticize someone incompetent?"

The minister shuddered as he realized where he was wrong. What Elaina said is right. Since she didn’t have a divorce from the Emperor and she didn’t officially step down, she is still technically the Empress therefore, her status is much higher than him who is just a mere minister. In short, she does have the right to say that to her husband.

"You have gotten cheeky right now, my daughter," Elaina’s mother flaps through her fan with a sinister smile on her face.

"I am just telling the truth here. Anyway, that is beside the point right now. My question right now, is why are you all here and why did you all just knock down my gate without any care? I can even ask you a lot to leave for being trespassers who entered the premises without my permission."

"Oh really? Why would we be considered as trespassers when we are your parents? We can come in and come out anytime we want here!" her father remains smirking.

"Is that so? Because I can drag you all out of here and bar you all from entering anytime I want. And not only that but destroying the gate just like that can be considered as a break-in attempt in my property. Destroying it is also a separate manner."

"And why would we care about that matter? This place is shabby and besides, why would you care about this place when you are coming back with us?" her mother closed her fan and approached Elaina slowly as she caressed her hair.

"And who said I will be coming with you? I never said I was coming back. You can pressure me all you want but I am not going back."

Hearing this, her mother who was previously caressing her hair suddenly grabbed her hair tight and pulled it over causing Elaina to grit in pain.

"Whether you like it or not, you will be coming with us. And once you come back with us, you will be held in trial and judgment by the church for bearing twins. We don’t tolerate twin kids as they are harbingers of misfortune and evil in this world. So come back with us even if we drag you by force."

Elaina angrily shoved her mother aside causing the latter to stagger and fall to the ground.

"You piece of-!" Before her mother can stand, she is welcomed with a blade being aimed at her throat by Elaina who is glaring at her.

"I know you are my mother but this is going too far. You condemn your grandkids to die just for the sake of upholding the beliefs of a religion I am not even believing?!"

"Ungrateful brat! You should be grateful that the church would be willing to sacrifice your children to the gods so that they will be able to be cleansed from their sins!" Elaina’s father who was listening didn’t manage to hold back and tried to disarm Elaina but he was met with force as Elaina retaliated.

"Salvation? Do you think doing that will be salvation?! Salvation my *ss, if I would kill my future kids due to this sh*tty ritual, then I would rather go to hell and my soul be condemned as evil at this point. Leave while I am still holding back and I still have a shred of reason to not hurt you all for doing many things I shouldn’t have tolerated.

"You dare threaten us huh? Guards! Restrain my daughter! Priest! You know what to do and make sure to do it properly!"

The priest who was passively listening to them in the background sprang to action and activated his ability as white chains appeared out of nowhere and restricted Elaina’s movements. Elaina pulled around and she could tell that she couldn’t easily break free with just her strength alone. With the chains on her hands and feet in place, the guards move in to forcibly drag her by force. Troy who is watching in the background was about to go and rescue his sister when Elaina grinned.

"This is a pathetic attempt, Mother, Father. But I think you underestimate me. I already said before and I will keep on saying it now, leave!"

In a split second, Elaina pulled her sword out from the scabbard and immediately destroyed the chains binding her hands and legs. As soon as those chains were destroyed, the priest who was casting them puked out blood as the damage done to the chains was immediately transmitted to their body.

Elaina then proceeded to release her aura as she waved her sword to the ground which almost passed through the soldiers and barely into her Father’s face.

"If you are all eager to die, then come. I will not back down at all and I will protect this farm. Trespassers shall die, even if you are my Mother and Father. I will protect everything I love even if it means I am defying fate. No one will touch this farm, and no one will touch my unborn kids as well. Heed my warning, Mother, and Father. One more try like this, and I will not hesitate to ruin everything. Now, leave while I am still merciful."

Because the soldiers are paralyzed in fear, her Father pulled her Mother and angrily glared at Elaina. We are not done here, Elaina. If you think this is over, then you will regret it! We will make sure you will come back with us and you will have to sacrifice your kids for the greater good of this world!"

"LEAVE!"

Elaina tries to pull her sword once again which signals both her parents and the soldiers to leave. Elaina seethes at the thought of how even her parents would be more willing to kill their future grandkids just to "cleanse evil" even though it is not necessary.

"I dare to see you all try again tomorrow. The moment you all tried to do something to my kids, I swear the sun will no longer shine through your remaining days."
