The plan that Elaina and Adelaide made to make the mermaid a bit less wary until Adelaide can fully translate and practice her words and communicate with the mermaid without difficulty is a huge success. Thanks to the food Elaina made which is just a simple dish that was buffed thanks to the prerequisites of the blessing to activate, has enhanced the food a lot along with its flavor and quality. No matter how bad Elaina cooked it, it will still taste good, except that Elaina made sure to make it good.

In just a few minutes after they gave her the food, she devoured the food like nothing and even ate the bones which Elaina was shocked to find out but didn’t really say anything afterwards. Once the mermaid realize her plate is empty, she started gesturing and pointing on her plate. She even made some weird sounds that they still couldn’t understand which was then translated by Arthur.

"She said food is tasty. Want more of it."

Adelaide was worried at first but Elaina immediately calmed Ade’s fears as she have prepared enough as she already anticipated the mermaid to say something about it. And so, Elaina grab another filled plate and hand it again to the mermaid which cemented the little trust that the mermaid had to Elaina. It isn’t much but she knew that Mermaid will now trust her a little. All they needed to do now is to wait for Adelaide to finish what she tasked herself which sounds hard but she cannot help out.

And so, the incident involving the mermaid came to a soft end for now but it will come back in just a few days once Adelaide is done. Elaina believes in her daughter.

"[I have seen all the interactions you have with your daughter and based on how she works with her new memory, it seems that she is one of the few lucky people who was returned to the current cycle of life due to their contribution and as a gift, they can return to a new life. "Does that mean my daughter will be at risk of that thing as well?" Elaina asked.

"[I don’t think Adelaide will be in trouble even after she regained her past life. It seems her past life was fully fulfilled and she didn’t have any problems in the end. In short, she didn’t need anything to her past life that would cause her to start a revolt or something. It seems that her only needs right now is to start a new life and enjoy a life with a loving parent this time around. You don’t need to worry about her.]"

"Don’t scare me like that, God of Farming. I have enough misfortunes in the past and I don’t want more added to my list in this new year."

"[I am not scaring you like that, Elaina. I am just saying the truth. If fate really does this to help you then it must be totally drastic for it to act. So be prepared no matter what, Elaina.]

After that conversation, Elaina feel into deep thinking. If there was something that would make trouble in the future that fate itself decided to intervene and gave her two children some abilities for help and aid, then it must be big enough that it warrants them enough to regain their past life and also to gain abilities to understand foreign language.

"I don’t know what kind of things fate has in store for me but if that is the case, I will make sure to resolve this no matter what."

Luminiera Kingdom.

Things have changed ever since that Emperor Alfred became obsessed with continuing the businesses that Elaina left behind, the proceedings and ruling process were all now handled by Selena herself. It was like she became the new leader of the kingdom even though the king himself is still sitting in the throne.

As much as the kingdom’s elders wanted to intervene and have Emperor Alfred take his job seriously and stop with his victim blaming he has been doing for himself, they couldn’t change much of him which then resulted to them accepting that Selena might be their only hope in keeping the kingdom afloat. At first, the council is in doubt. After all, even though Selena is their former empress’s sister, she is far beyond what Elaina was capable of in terms of ruling. She is far too different and not someone that is great for the purpose of becoming the next empress.

But things have changed when the Head Priest of the Church decided to start helping out of her actions. Every time they try to ask him for advice, all he would say that he would trust Selena to do the work that would make the kingdom proud. At first, there are protests from them but the Head Priest would immediately start to give them lectures here and there that soon allowed them to realize their mistakes.

After these "lectures" those people not only became approving on Selena’s actions, they even endorse her as the new empress in the future saying that she will be the one who will surpass the ruling that her sister have done in the past. Many of the public doubts about it, but they could only take watch on what is happening.

And so, as a result, the kingdom continues to remain in the same ruling...just different this time as it soon turned to be a puppet ruling. Emperor Alfred who became devoid of emotion would soon wither away and be forgotten in the future.

Back to the Darcero Kingdom, back in the past few days, Elaina seems to have noticed Alyssa to be a bit more happy these past few days. She is even making Mier walk practice walking around after she got used to swimming. She can even spot Alyssa suddenly smiling which seems like she remembered something that would make her smile like that.

Elaina tried to recall if there are any incident in the past few days or past few months that would influence her but Elaina is drawing blank. Even if there was someone who visited, Julia would have already revealed it to her if there are indeed something that have broke through the barrier and yet, Julia didn’t report anything. In short, Elaina has no idea on why the girl was smiling much these past few days.

Even when she tried asking, she only got the response of I just remembered something.

So, as a result of this, Elaina decided to talk to the one who is close to Alyssa which is none other than the Harvest Goddess herself.

"That is what I am seeing so far which made me a bit suspicious. Did something happen to her these past few days? Why she became quite happy for some reason?" Elaina asked as she casts a line on the water to catch some fish.

"Ah, and here I thought you wouldn’t notice that due to the recent things that you have been having a problem before," the Harvest Goddess chuckled as she started eating the dish that Elaina made for her.

"There was indeed something?"

"Yes. Also, I am going to say this but Elaina, your cooking have improved a lot to the point that even I who don’t really need to "eat" actually gain an impulse to also "eat". Just how did you improve so much, Elaina?"

"Hahaha...but what lets go back to the previous topic, what is this something you are saying?" Elaina frowned.

"Shh...don’t tell or reveal this to Alyssa. She might not know this since she thought that I was always asleep at night. She didn’t realize that I can never really have any sleep unless I am short of energy and since I am overflowing of energy after your help, I can do things I have never done before. And one of them is to be able to spy Alyssa. And it seems that she has been having a forbidden meeting every night."
