Chapter 334: Sailing Trip [III]

Mermaids.

Although they both lived in the sea, they are not to be confused with merfolk. Compared to merfolk people, they are someone that are closely resembling a fish due to their tail that replaces the feet that Merfolk people have. One might think that they are the same but they are not related in any way even in lineage or bloodlines. Their connection starts with them being the same races that can breath and live on water and breath on land as well and that ends with their connection.

Although they are called Mermaids in collective tale, they are categorized differently with males as the males are called Mermen. One thing that is quite distinct to mermaids is that they have beautiful voices and once they started to sing, listeners will be captivated by their song. And they are also the ones who help drowning sailors who gets shipwrecked and save them by putting them on the nearest shore where human civilization is near.

However, unlike the Merfolk who enjoy less to no discrimination from humans, Mermaids are not the same due to how they are closely related to one of the dangerous monsters for the sailors, the Sirens. After all, Sirens are the corrupted mermaids. Like their uncorrupted forms, sirens are capable of singing beautiful songs that would attract ships, boats and yachts to their location. However, once they are lured, they will not escape the fate of sinking into the deepest parts of the waters as they get taken in the process. They have taken countless of lives and as a result, mermaids are being ostracized by many even though they should be hating on the sirens more than mermaids.

Adelaide is looking at the mermaid who seemed to be sinking bit by bit. She didn’t understand it at first, but soon enough, she soon realized and pieced everything on what she was seeing. She saw the witch who is also looking at the sinking mermaid and she quickly pointed on it.

"Please help her!"

Hearing this, the witch smiled and with a wave in her hands, water starts to split open like it was being sliced. Slowly, the water slowly disappear and the body of the mermaid appeared before them. With another wave, the body of the mermaid is enveloped into a ball of water and slowly lifted it up the air, leaving the water. Once the mermaid is out of the water, the water that split apart joined once again, reforming to its former shape.

As for the mermaid, she was taken up above and then slowly descends to the deck of the yacht. Julia who is seeing it was not expecting to see a mermaid before her and had a shocked expression.

"Girl with fish tail!" Arthur pointed at the unconscious mermaid, still seeing it for the first time.

Adelaide looked at the body of the mermaid and spotted a few large wounds on her abdomen and thigh, near the part where her legs and tail meet. They are quite deep and even though she is still inside the water bubble, the water bubble is slowly getting tainted by her blood. The witch continued to filter the water continuously with her magic, removing the blood while also replacing it with clean sea water.

She quickly turned to Julia and tug her clothes and started to make a cute impression which she deliberately did as Julia is kinda weak to that kind of reaction from her. "Can you help her? She is hurt."

Julia gulped a bit of her saliva as she looked at Adelaide who is showing her pleading cute impression and felt a bit weak as she wanted to start squeezing her cheeks. But because she quickly held herself from doing so and looked at the mermaid on the water.

"She is injured but I can help a bit. Can you lower her a bit?"

"Alright, but how are you going to heal her? You said before that your healing magic is next to nothing?"

"There’s no need for healing magic when a potion should be good enough," Julia pulls out a bottle of large green potion that the witch remembered to be what she called as healing liquid.

She popped the cork on the bottle and began pouring the contents into the water where the mermaid is incased, allowing the potion to mix with the water.

"Don’t filter it just yet and let the water stay for a bit. That way, the potion will reach her," Julia instructed as she pulls out another bottle of the same healing liquid and poured another dosage to the water that encased the mermaid.

And just like that, the water incasing the mermaid was now full of medicine. The blood that was flowing out from her wounds slowly closes and everyone can see how the big wounds in her body slowly close on its own.

"There, she should be good to go. However, she needed to be in good condition to ensure that she is safe. Whatever caused her to have those wounds must be some kind of nasty monster or a sharp object. There’s no fish capable of doing that and even sharks wouldn’t just leave that mark if she was attacked by one," Julia said, making sure that whatever caused her to get wounded is something that no animal did.

Just as everyone sighed in relief now that the danger has been averted for the mermaid, a new thing appeared and this time, it is coming close to the yacht. The First Prince who have saw the creature didn’t waste his time and pulled his gun and fired at the incoming thing. And as soon as that thing leap out with a splash...

BANG!

A loud gunshot echoed the place but no one else aside from the yacht can hear the loud gunshot. Of course, because there was a gunshot, Elaina and Caroline who are all dressed up to dive underwater rushes back outside to check on the situation and why there was a gunshot to begin with.

"Darling?! What is happening?" Caroline shouted to the First Prince as she saw him reloading his gun.

"I don’t know just yet but I know that we are under attack."

Hearing that they are under attack, Elaina didn’t hesitate and look for her twins. Caroline followed suit as well, fearing for the worst.

"Just what is going on?" Caroline is confused on everything while Elaina laments that she left behind her sword back home. She didn’t expect to use it anyways on the sea so she left it behind. And now she regretted the idea.

But she is still not defenseless. Holding the harpoon gun in her hand, she readies her new weapon as she saw the enemies that the First Prince was shooting.

"Are those f*cking piranhas?"
