Chapter 331: A Way to Bond With Others

The Harmonica. A small wind instrument that is similar to a flute in terms of playing its tune, but it is much easier in terms of mastering compared to flute which needed commitment and practice. For her to get it, this instrument must be related to taming monsters as well.

However, Elaina has no talent in music at all nor she has any capabilities in using instruments like the harmonica to produce a good melody. As much as she wanted to ask the Goddess of Taming regarding the harmonica, the goddess was busy, leaving Elaina confused as to why she had a harmonica as part of her reward despite not being a musician.

Although the third gift ended up as an item she is confused to know the real way to use, the rewards are something she can take advantage of in the future. And she will be going to have an easier time trapping monsters in the future without killing or harming them outright without also getting harmed in the process. Although she will not be able to progress going down the mines at the moment, she will do that eventually.

The next few days were quiet without the God of Farming talking and the other gods were too busy to do any small talk with Elaina, leaving Elaina to just continue with her regular routine. Still, because she has helpers now, her work has significantly lessened. Her main job at the moment is just to restore the barrier of the Labyrinth. Growing the plants and setting up the little barrier again took some time but it wasn’t that hard. And so, for the next few days, Elaina is free from work most of the time.

Since then, Elaina has taken advantage of this free time to personally bond with her children, talk to them, and teach them various things while they are still young to instill knowledge in their minds. Younger children learn quite quick when they are still in the developing stages of their lives, so even teaching them good manners early on is already something that would impact them in the future.

But it seems she underestimated her twins. She thought they would take a while to understand various concepts and yet they easily understood most of it that she slowly ran out of things to teach her kids that are applicable for them at the moment. She still can’t teach her kids the more advanced ones as those are only applicable for older babies. Her babies has yet to even get another notch on their age.

In the end, Elaina ended up stopping with her teaching lessons with the twins. They are too smart for her and they learn so fast that if their bodies are already capable, they might even start doing things that should not be done by any one year old kids.

"Sis? Why do you look like you are having a problem right now? I thought you are happy with the twins?" Julia asked when she saw Elaina had a blank look on her face while watching the twins play.

"I wanted to spend time with my children by teaching things on them that are typical to be learned by one-year old kids and yet I ended up exhausting every thing...They are so much fast learners that some lessons that should take days or even months to learn are learned in days. Arthur might be different from Adelaide in terms of quick development, but he is quick catching up with his twin. I am contemplating what to even teach them at this point." Elaina glanced at her two babies who are now running around the house, playing together.

For them to be a year and a half year old, they already act like they are already 4 or 5 years old of age. One would not easily associate them with regular kids at this point with their advanced learning. Adelaide shows the most change as she is the most matured of the twins with how she seems to easily grasp things in one go. Although shocking, her trait is already enough to say this is normal for her. However, things should be different on Arthur who is following in the footsteps on her sister and even though he isn’t as fast in development as his sister, he is a fast learner allowing to catch up with his sister. If his sister learned it in a day, he will learn and master it for around 4 to 5 days at max.

In short, both children are all geniuses in their own accord and now Elaina is having some problem about this.

"Guess you also reached that point, huh, Sis?" Julia sighed.

"You too?"

"Yeah. I am even tempted to teach the two many grown up things but I can also tell that they are still too early for the two and yet I don’t have any good idea on how to let the twins do more things. I can only tell in the future, that these two kids will be easily alienated by the others due to how unique their minds think."

Elaina scratches her head. Was it a blessing in disguise that her babies are geniuses or is it a curse that they are geniuses? She has no idea.

"Perhaps you should just give up thinking too much on what the twins should learn. They are still kids and we should just let them explore on their own. Kids needed their own space to learn though we guide them to the right path."

Elaina sighed. Was Alfred like this when he was a baby? That shouldn’t be the case. Otherwise, that man would be smart enough to differentiate between right and wrong, and learn the next action without being brash. And clearly, Alfred has failed in that department already.

That’s when Elaina had an idea. Bonding with the kids, while also fulfilling a few missions from the various gods who have given her tasks.

"Julia, are you up for sailing?"

"Eh? Sailing? You mean...like steering a boat on a body of water?"

"Yeah. Considering the kids have yet to see the sea, perhaps this is a good time to let them explore it out?"

"Hmm, that could work. Although I am worried a bit from the threat of the merfolk kingdom, I don’t think there are troubles related to them at the moment."

"Then, it should be good enough, right? It’s not like we will go swimming right now."

"Yeah, its fair to do I guess. But I think I have an idea on why you suddenly wanted to go to the sea all of a sudden."

Elaina chuckled. "Well, it should hit two birds with one stone so why not? And besides, I still haven’t gotten a good timing to use the harpoon gun just yet and I think right now would be a good idea to use it for catching some fish. We can bring the catch to Mr. Douglas. I heard that Marigold has just left the hospital and will be able to resume her work soon. It’s a good way to check up on them as well."

"That sounded great. I should also tell the others as well and ask them if they are willing to join us. It would just be a bit lonely if it was just us doing this."

"Sounds good! This is a good way to spend time with everyone!"

The plan was quickly formulated and the trip is planned. Now, they only needed a yacht that they can rent for the day. The others would be coming along with Elaina, the twins and Julia are Princess Margaux, the Witch, and Curaj. Although the gender balance is already tipping, Curaj is fine since its not like everyone is a stranger to him.

Elaina wanted to also bring the feys and the fairies with them but she knew that is not possible. The fairies do want to join but Pixie who became the acting leader of the pixies is against of it, saying that the Fairies are still not ready to go to the ocean just yet. As for the Feys, they immediately declined as they wanted to continue working on the farm though they appreciated the gesture. She also thought of Shardu and Zaza if they can also enjoy things like how a regular pet can join on trips with their masters only for Julia to stop Elaina immediately.

"Sis, just remember that while Zaza is a regular animal, he is heavy, and will be hard to let him ride on the boat. On the other hand, Shardu is a beast that has a hint of ancient or mythical part, bringing Shardu along will only attract unwanted attention to us."

After her failed attempt on the pets, Elaina turned her attention to the Harvest Goddess and Alessa if they were willing to join the trip...only to be denied. Although the Harvest Goddess loves to laze around, she is not really compatible with the sea and would rather stay away from it. As for Alessa, she quickly turned down the invitation but thanked Elaina for trying to invite her.

In the end, Elaina was left with the original people who will join the trip. As for the Yacht, Elaina planned to rent one which got immediately foiled when Princess Margaux asked Elaina about the yacht that they will be riding. When she heard that Elaina is still going to rent some random yacht, Princess Margaux volunteers.

"Don’t worry about the yacht and who will drive it for us. I know just the perfect person for it," Princess Margaux grinned. Elaina already had an idea who it was.

Although this trip was supposed to be something for the relaxation of the group, this will turn into something else as an unexpected encounter will influence the lives of the twins.
