Chapter 326: First Strata [IV]

Upon descending, the map on the Almanac changed and soon reflected her next battle.

The map is a streamlined one, and it is just one hallway and a big circular dome on the map. There is only one thing that Elaina is certain about, the whole place is part of the boss’s domain and the one with the circular dome in the map is the place where the boss room is located.

As usual, it seems the gods are unable to contact Elaina at all which solidifies the theory she had earlier. The only way for the gods to be able to contact her again is if she managed to reach another checkpoint like the previous room.

Whatever the cause of the gods being unable to do anything, must be somewhere in the dungeon.

Elaina headed towards the boss room through the long hallway. As she pass through the hallway, Elaina noticed something on each side of the hallways. For regular adventurers, they will just ignore it as they are nothing of concern for them, but for Elaina who is a farmer, it is not just something she will overlook.

"Garden plots and ceramic pots?"

Empty garden plots and ceramic plots are present on the side. They aren’t weird though but it is kind of weird that they don’t have anything in them aside from soil.

This soil is quite healthy and nice for planting and growing various plants. Not only that, but for this to be this healthy should be a soil that has been mixed with various compost and fully fertilized ground. However, this soil is clearly not a humus soil as it didn’t have any signs that it is made from decomposed plants and animals. And soil that uses decomposed monsters shouldn’t still result in a humus soil but since this soil isn’t one, it is just natural soil.

Seeing that this soil is great for planting, Elaina has a great idea.

"Since this is the dungeon, no one will care if I take these away from here right? And besides, anything in the dungeon is in for keeping for all those who find it so these are also included as well.

And so, before the boss room gets raided, the hallway has been robbed with soil by Elaina who took every single soil she can take and all the ceramic pots she can put inside the bag. One should not underestimate the greed that Elaina had.

Satisfying her greed, Elaina went to the big door’s labyrinth. She immediately realized why there was a checkpoint on the previous floor. It was for the sake of surviving the boss room next floor. Elaina is happy that she has taken a break in the previous floor or else, she will go hungry by the time she have faced the boss and she will be too hungry to do anything.

The big door is quite menacing with its design that looked like a lion opening it’s mouth to Elaina. Although it looked menacing, Elaina had her fair share of much more menacing monsters that this barely faze her at all.

Before she tries to even push the door herself, the door opens without any interaction from Elaina just yet. It seems that just by her presence alone will open the door by itself.

Elaina made sure that she is fully prepared before she headed inside. She can tell that once she is inside the boss room, she will not be able to escape and reopen the door anymore until the boss is defeated.

Now that she is fully geared, she stepped inside the door and she entered an arena-like area with empty seats for audience. On the middle of the arena is a monster that Elaina had just encountered not too long ago and one that Elaina personally slain in revenge for the destruction of the plants she have on the four season fields.

"I see now. The first boss of the first strata was actually you, you bastard, " Elaina grinned as the boss monster stood up slowly and slowly pick up the weapon on its side.

The boss is none other than the same boss she killed. It seems to have respawned and is now waiting for a new challenger.

Just from the looks of it, although the boss monster is just a similar boss monster from before, this monster is somehow looking stronger than she thought. Not only that, but the aura it had is much more menacing than her previous encounter with it.

"It seems that this is what they call labyrinth power up. It’s power must’ve degraded the moment it escaped the boss room and chased the challenger.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Elaina thought it would roar like a monster will do but the monster mooed instead, making a very disturbing call of a cow to anyone listening to it.

"Good. It would be boring if you go down easily just like the great bull that left the labyrinth just to chase an adventuter."

Elaina looked at the entrance and it seems that the doors does not close at all. So this is also a reason why the monster manage to chase the victim up until the top floor.

"Give it your best shot, bull man!"

The boss began to ready it’s feet as it started charging towards Elaina with the club in hand.

"Whoa there!" Elaina is quick to move away from the boss, making the boss pass from her. As soon as it passed to her location, Elaina dashes towards the back of the boss and leap towards the boss with her sword ready.

Realizing that the human it was facing is now attacking behind, it didn’t stop charging but it instead changed direction, allowing it to dodge Elaina’s attack.

But Elaina already anticipated it and instead of chasing, Elaina waited for the boss to charge towards her head-on.

With a club in hand, the boss swings it hard towards Elaina. With Elaina’s eyes glint before she moved and with one swift slice, cut through the boss’s skin and cutting it’s arm off.

"You are eager to fight...but in the end, you are still the same bull I defeated before."
