A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods -
Chapter 291: Lifting the Ban
Chapter 291: Lifting the Ban
The success of lifting the curse made Elaina very happy. Not only did the curse disappear completely, but the tool that was blessed became more powerful than when it was being cursed. It was like if not for the curse, it would not unleash its fullest potential.
Before when the hoe was still under the curse, the hoe could till 15 tiles of soil in one single swing of the hoe but after it turned into a blessed tool, it can now perform 30 tilled soil in one swing, making this a very efficient tool for tilling the soil without the need of moving far just to do it. Even Elaina who has no magic power to call for can use the blessed tool without any problems.
Due to this, Elaina will be using this tool in the future. The Dwarf promised that it would be Elaina’s property once the curse was lifted so Elaina does not need to hand it back to the dwarf elder now that it is a different tool now.

After the cursed tool incident, life on the farm returns to normal once more and Elaina is once again doing her job with the workers of the farm. Thanks to the previously tilled field that Elaina did to lift the curse of the hoe, they have plenty of areas to plant more crops.
While they are currently spreading the new seeds to the newly tilled areas, a few people came knocking on the gates. Elaina is quite sure that she is not expecting any visitors at the moment and the others who can enter the farm freely do not need to knock so whoever was behind the gates must be a visitor.
"Who could it be? Is anyone even expecting any visitors to begin with? The Princess and Julia didn’t mention anything to me about visitors..."
Heading over to the gate, she overheard a few voices of people outside and the sound of weapons clanging around. If they are enemies, they won’t be knocking the door so they must be authorities. Still, in any case, she held her sword as she slowly opens the gates.
"Ah, good morning Miss Elaina. Hope we are not disturbing you by any chance?"
Elaina was surprised at first but she soon composed herself as soon as she saw who it was before her.
"Your Majesty, the First Prince! Come in! It’s been a while since we have last met! Are you here to visit your sister?"
The First Prince is the oldest siblings of the royal family and the older brother of Princess Margaux. It’s been a while since Elaina have seen him and the last time she have seen him was during the time the ban of entry from the residents of Luminiera Kingdom to Darcero Kingdom’s borders and territory dispute. Since then, Elaina have not seen him once.
The First Prince entered the farm’s gate alongside with his soldiers. 6 of them to be exact. It seems they are bodyguards of the First Prince.
"Ah, not quite. I was too busy with all the things that was happening lately and I was swamped by work due to the winter incident. I have a lot of stuff to wrap up, which made me stuck for quite a while on my work. Then the matter related to your parents also appeared so I got busier. I am not intending on looking for my younger sister right now but I also intended to visit her while I am here but yes, she is not the one I came here for. The main reason I am here is you, Miss Elaina."
"Eh? Me? Did I do something wrong?"
"Huh? Wait, don’t misunderstand. You don’t have any crimes done that warrants for us to arrest you. We are just here to inform you about the ban of entry to the inhabitants of Luminiera Kingdom is about to be lifted this upcoming weekend."
"Oh...is it that time already?" Elaina was surprised. She didn’t expect that it was about time the ban will be lifted. Which also means that Elaina is already living in Darcero Kingdom for a year now. A year that she is no longer an empress. A year of being an ordinary civilian.
"Yes, it is that time already. Although it is just an insignificant day to you since you are already an official resident of Darcero Kingdom, I am fearing that you might have a troubling days ahead once the people of Luminiera Kingdom set foot in here."
"Ah..." Elaina immediately realized what the First Prince is talking about and why she will have troubling days ahead.
"That’s right. Since it was public information that you are the reason that the ban was currently developed in the first place, there might be a few people from that kingdom to start harrassing you and your farm. Considering that you are the cause of the ban itself and many people knew you, they will try to fuel their anger to you once the ban is lifted as an act of revenge to you. Merchants and ordinary people will not be happy about it and it will be not an easy scenario."
Elaina nodded in response. The First Prince is correct. There might be a few people who understood why the ban was placed in the first place but there are a few people who still holds resentment for her due to this incident. For example, merchants. Considering that they are also barred from entry during the ban, it is safe to say that they might be one of the people who will be attempting to attack and harm her in the future.
And that alone is not a good thing.
"Thanks for the warning, Your Majesty. I will keep that in mind."
"Yes. And so we would like to ask you to allow my guards to help and guard your farm for any intruders. This is a way of ensuring that you will remain safe and my sister safe from any danger that those people might bring."
Elaina smiled hearing the offer. "I appreciate the offer, Your Majesty but I will not accept this offer. Not only will it make the farm become noticeable due to the guards, the intruders will also be able to pinpoint immediately where my farm is located due to the guards themselves giving away my position. So even if I knew that you just meant it to be a good thing, it will endanger us more. Also, you don’t have to worry about us from danger as we can defend ourselves just fine. The intruders themselves might find themselves running for their lives if they tried to do something funny."
The First Prince was surprised by Elaina’s response but soon understood her reasoning.
"You got a point there. I didn’t think too much about it that there is indeed chances that might happen. I heard you are teaching my sister, the first Princess about swordsmanship these days so that must mean you are quite strong for her to ask for your teachings. And I heard that you are the granddaughter of the former Hero and Saintess, Rakkan and Liliana which also means you have other means of help if there is danger."
"I do not rely on my grandparents for help but yes, I can ask for their help if I really needed it," Elaina answered. After all, she was taught by her grandfather about solving your problems yourself if you can without troubling other people if the problem that is plaguing her is something that she can solve herself.
"I see now. Well, that is all I have to say and since my offer was rejected, I wish you the best once the ban is lifted. Still, I suggest you buy supplies that will last for a while in advance while the situation is still not good so that you can reduce your chances of going out to purchase things. Leaving the situation quiet for quite a while might allow the hatred to slowly die down and allow you to regain the peace."
"I will keep that in mind. Still, thanks for the reminder. If not for your message, I might not even realize the ban was already lifted."
"It’s nothing. Since you are part of the Kingdom’s residents, it is our duty as part of the royal family to help out and inform those who are uninformed about all the news and things that might affect them. Your safety is also an utmost importance considering that you are the master of my sister and the one who is taking care of my younger sister. It is the least we can do for you."
After the First Prince have a talk with Princess Margaux, they left the farm together with his bodyguards. Although it would have been fine to have the help of guards, she doesn’t want to drag other people on her business. The people of Luminiera Kingdom is not happy at her since she was the cause of the ban? That is likely due to the instigation that was done by her parents considering that they are part of the business cooperation.
However, she isn’t someone who will backout and cower from fear due to this upcoming danger that was mentioned to her.
"I don’t care who you people are, if you think that you guys can ruin my life, then try and come at me. I will be waiting, patiently."
