A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods
Chapter 226: The Fairy Lotus Seed

Chapter 226: The Fairy Lotus Seed

"Is he that famous?" Elaina frowned.

Troy is shocked to the point that he can’t believe his sister is asking a genuine and honest question.

"You are kidding, right? He is even famous back when you are still the empress. He made a name for being one of the pioneers in expeditions and discovering ruins long forgotten by the ancient civilization!"

Elaina scratched her head and tried recalling anything but had not gotten any inkling about the Duke.

"Doesn’t ring any bells."

And that is true without any sort of jokes. Elaina has no idea who Duke Darcy is at all. She didn’t read newspapers back then and even if she did, she would likely have forgotten most information being told there.

"Ha, forget it. And besides, even if you don’t know him, if you plan to continue to farm over to the dungeon farm, you are likely to meet him again over there," Troy felt frustrated talking to his sister about someone famous. No matter how famous that person is, unless Elaina takes an interest in that person, she will remain oblivious to who that individual is.

"Is he planning on checking that labyrinth and seeing it in person?" Elaina asked while removing the remaining pelt carefully around the hind leg of the Alpha Wolf.

"Correct. He said that he has to see for himself if the Labyrinth itself is something that he would consider clearing or just leave it to the less capable people who needed more experience in clearing dungeons and labyrinths," Troy answered.

"How thoughtful of him."

"Oh yeah, Grandpa said that a representative of the Merfolk is going to talk and visit you regarding the incident back then where the king of the Merfolk people attacked. No idea what he wanted to say about it but from the looks of it, the representative might be talking about the compensation of damages to you and also maintaining a better relationship with you, now that their princess is currently living on your farm."

Elaina shrugged. "Well, better late than never, I guess. There’s no way I will forget about the fact that their attack at that time had ruined countless of my crops and reduced my budget by quite a lot in the process. I won’t just forget and never ask for compensation."

Finishing the final touches, Elaina dragged the knife under the pelt and in a swift motion, separated the chunk of flesh from the Alpha Wolf and detached its pelt. The size is quite big and it is quite heavy. Depending on how it will be processed, it can net quite a hefty amount of gold, but Elaina didn’t want to sell it just like that. With how thick the pelt is, she wanted to make a few clothes out of it and create some equipment out of it as well.

She then turned over to her brother who already had an idea of what she was about to ask.

"Alright, don’t worry about that. I have some contacts who might be willing to process and make this a fine piece of set equipment. With how big this is, it will certainly be big enough to create a few more stuff aside from the set you wanted to be made."

"I will leave it to you then," Elaina is relieved and turned to the remains of the Alpha Wolf.

"Help me with the meat separation on this one, Julia."

Julia nodded and grabbed the second knife and the two began their job.

...

...

...

While Elaina and the others are busy with the dismantling process of the Alpha Wolf’s carcass, inside the little mushroom house where the Fey Family lives is Pixie currently meditating with the seed of the Lotus currently sitting in her hands.

She has not eaten anything yet today due to the feeling that she is on the final stride for the Lotus seed to be ready. Despite her stomach growling in hunger, she didn’t stop her meditation in fear that if she stopped now, the progress would also reset.

Her focus is all set on the seed and she doesn’t bear in mind the hunger she is feeling. For her, she has to finish this once and for all.

SNAP!

All of a sudden, something snapped in her mind. No, it wasn’t something bad like her mind had finally gotten bad. It was her connection to the seed that suddenly snapped in contact, stopping the flow of power to the seed from her.

She slowly opened her eyes and her eyes sparkled in joy seeing the result of her suffering for months.

"I-I...I did it...I actually did it!"

The seed is shining and is overflowing in vitality. Not only that but it also exudes an aura similar to the plants that she once saw back in the past that allows her brethren to be born from them.

Her happiness has risen to the roof seeing the end result. She finally did it. The seed that will rekindle the life of her kin is now in her hands. All she has to do is let the farmer do her job of cultivating it.

As she was about to head out to tell the news to the farmer, her head suddenly felt a pang of sharp pain, throbbing straight to her brain. She groaned as she clutched her temple and the pain started to drill through her brain. As the pain is currently passing through her head, countless memories that are not her own suddenly pour through her head.

A few more minutes later, she soon knelt on the floor, still clutching her head. The pain disappeared and the pang of pain that suddenly surged in her head ceased to as well. As she felt clearer about what happened, various memories that were not hers suddenly registered in her mind. Memories that Pixie has no idea how it arrived in her mind.

But one thing is clear, this is information she needed to share and something that has to be done, for the Fairy Race to once again flourish and return to the world.

She tried to stand up, but perhaps because she lost all of her strength after the sudden pain earlier, she had a hard time even trying to stand up at the moment. Before she can even move out on her own, the Fey Family has returned from their job and returned to the house to finally take a break when they see the struggling fairy kneeling near the front door.

"Woah, what is going on? Are you alright?" Poe immediately knelt and checked on Pixie if she was alright.

"I told you, you have to eat properly and don’t just skip your meals. I know you are trying to save your kin, but please, save yourself first before the others. Ram, and Joe, prepare the table and give Pixie a meal. Let her have the hot soup, it’s good since it is darn cold outside," Bam said and ordered his two kids to prepare a meal for Pixie as they helped her stand up and let her sit down on a chair.

"Ugh...I am sorry..." Pixie clutches her head. Although the pain is gone, she still feels a bit dizzy.

Poe checked on the table and the food that they left for Pixie for breakfast and lunch remained on the table. They all have gone cold as a result.

"Oh my, oh my. What have you been doing all this time? You didn’t eat at all, did you? This won’t do. Kids reheat the food. We need Pixie to eat a lot. So make sure to eat a lot. Alright? You skipped two meals already, so you have to eat at least two meals tonight, alright?"

She was about to protest and wanted to talk about the seed, but she decided against it after a second thought. She is pretty famished and she agreed that perhaps she should eat something plenty this time around. With everything finally over, there is no harm in splurging for oneself and enjoying life for once.

...

...

...

"Oh my, so this was the rumored seed that I have heard about?" Ram looked at the seed in Pixie’s palms that were glowing in faint blue light.

"It sends off some weird aura for some reason. Mom, Dad, is this indeed the same plant you two have seen in the past?" Joe asked the two who were also marvelling at the seed in Pixie’s palms.

"They are. It’s been so long and I never expected to see it again like this."

After dinner, Pixie has finally revealed the seed has finally entered the final phase and it is now ready to be planted. Just like she expected, the Fey Family marveled at the sight of the seed.

"I didn’t even dream of seeing this seed once more, but Pixie here has done what I thought to be the impossible!" Bam exclaimed as he looked at it like he didn’t believe its existence at first.

"Should we tell Boss about it?" Poe asked and looked at Pixie.

"Maybe we should. Isn’t this the time Pixie waited for so long" Bam looked at Pixie who would decide the decision.

Pixie pondered a bit. But she soon realized it. Why is she rushing so much? She shouldn’t even feel pressured about this.

"Let’s do it tomorrow. For now, I needed to sleep. A well-deserved sleep," Pixie smiled. After all, she have not slept after she began the ritual. With everything over, she should have now enough time to hit the sack.
