Chapter 213: Cultivating the Four Seasons Field [III]

"Putting up a potion stand over at the four seasons field?" Julia looked at Elaina curiously.

"Yeah. With how popular your potions are whenever we sell it, perhaps selling it directly there would net more profit for your work?" Elaina suggested to Julia after seeing the casualties that happened earlier.

"I can definitely do that, but I don’t have the resources to start one at the moment, Sis. Anyways, why did you suddenly bring that up after coming home from the dungeons? Is there a huge influx of adventurers in need of potions?"

"Not really. There are barely any adventurers doing the dungeon at the moment so I don’t think we will have any big profits with the potion shop even if we already begin today. I just suggested it since I think it will become a place where people will start coming to challenge the labyrinth. Seeing the danger of the place and how it is easily dealing trouble to everyone."

"I will discuss this matter with the Goddess of Medicine if she will allow me to use my knowledge with the medicine like that. Still prefer to do something related to magic though than create medicine for life."

Elaina nodded and talked with Julia for a while. After that, they have some lunch and Elaina breastfeeds the two babies and spends a few minutes with them before they drift to sleep. Once they had returned to their sleep schedule, she prepared once more to go back to the dungeon and continue her work.

...

...

...

Compared to earlier when the guards outside the dungeon stopped her from entering, the two just nodded at her and let her through without a second thought. They are not the same people who guarded the dungeon’s entrance earlier though so Elaina thinks that the two guards earlier have relayed the information to them which allowed her to go with a hassle.

Elaina shrugged about it. The less trouble there is, the better.

Inside the dungeon, she met a few monsters here and there but they started to flee before they attacked so Elaina didn’t bother to chase them and head to the illusion and head back to the Four Seasons Field.

Just like before the area is a bit desolate from people. There are a few adventurers now, but they seem to be conducting some plans here and there. The people who have lost their two comrades are also still there with one of them currently sleeping. The other two have their wounds taken care of and are now chatting with each other.

Her Grandfather is still there and is still busy talking with a few men who also looked like veteran adventurers so Elaina ignored them and headed to the Autumn season field.

She didn’t go to the summer field as she wanted to have more opportunities to harvest on the Fall Season Field than in the summer where most of the plants grown there can also be grown in both Spring and Autumn.

Based on the needs of the people and what is the most accessible and tasty stuff that can be consumed by people during the time of cold weather, a hot sweet potato is something that will help and fill the belly at the same time.

Dreaming of the sweet potatoes and having them on the go made Elaina remember the times back in her survival days when she managed to find a few sweet potato plants growing in the nearby meadow which was what helped Elaina survive the majority of her time due to how easy it was to grow one and to harvest one.

As she was about to start tilling the soil, the adventurers she saw earlier who were discussing their plan before entering the dungeon appeared near Elaina. Although Elaina does not know who they are, she has seen them multiple times in the market, Adventurer’s Guild, and in the General Store, allowing her to remember their faces after meeting them again and again.

"Hello miss, you are the farmer in charge of this area’s farm and cultivating it to restore the strength of the barrier?" the Cleric of the group asked.

Most clerics she has seen before are female although she also knows there are males from their ranks, the majority of the gender who have that class are female. But the one speaking with her is a male. This is the first time she has seen a male cleric so far.

"Yes? Anything I can do for all of you?" Elaina asked.

"Well, we are just introducing ourselves to you since we might be seeing you many times in the future if you will be doing your job here a lot," the Defender in their group smiled, showing his sincerity in introducing themselves.

"I keep seeing you around town in the past which indicates you must be one of the local farmers in town," their female member who wears a cowboy getup with two guns on her hips added.

"You can say that. Although it is not a coincidence that I am working here. This field has been given to me as a job to do which is why it is my responsibility as well to reinvigorate the place a bit."

Elaina continued tilling the field but she continued talking with them since they seemed friendly so far.

"Okay, then. But why do you guys think that it is a good idea to befriend me all of a sudden?" Elaina asked.

"Seeing that you are planting a few stuff here, I am quite sure that you will also be planting a few remedy plants that might be hard to find and are necessary for brewing and creating potions in the future. Getting to know someone who has access to those will be something that we will consider as a vital part of our exploration in labyrinths like this with unknown enemies, therefore, we will need a lot of herbs in the future. You can say that we are hoping you become a good supplier of herbs so that we can buy a few of these stacks for our personal use," the Cleric explained.

"I can see now what you guys are trying to do here. But how are you guys so sure that I will be planting some herbs in the future?" Elaina asked.

"Deduction and gut feeling," the swordswoman in their group answered in a straightforward and short answer.

Elaina grinned after hearing about this matter with the adventurers. They didn’t investigate her farm or her products beforehand. They instead trusted their instinct that she would be supplying those types in the future and they are just trying to establish some connections for a bit.

"[It’s not a bad idea, Elaina. And besides, you will be planting a few of them in the first place, right? If that is the case, these people might become your regular customers in the future without relying on the market to sell some herbs.]" the Goddess of Taming nodded.

"[Yes, indeed. It’s a great one as well. If you get their help in disposal, we can take advantage of this and gather intelligence inside the dungeon without needing to descend there and seek out new stuff to discover.]" the God of Fishing added.

Elaina also agreed to this notion as well. She plans to befriend a few adventurers as well anyway so that she can employ them in the future and take their work of exploring dangerous areas to advantage. But she doesn’t let them take stuff for free, as Elaina will need some fee as well.

She smiled at them and put down her hoe to the side. "Fine. You guys seem to have a keen sense of it. But your intuition is indeed correct. I grow a few herbs for sale and we make some potions as well. However, I don’t work for free. Just because we are friends doesn’t mean I can easily give you stuff without needing to pay."

"Oh, no need to worry about that. We do plan to pay for that stuff as well so we are not just going to ask you for one and then leave without paying. We like a fair and square transaction instead of a one-sided one," the cleric waved his hands in worry.

Elaina shook her head. "That’s not what I mean. Sure enough, I will be selling a few stuff, but before I sell it, I will be asking for a few stuff that you might be able to get in the dungeon. Bring them to me and you will receive a few bunch plus the access of that kind of herb with me."

"You mean, like quests?" the Defender girl was surprised.

Elaina nodded. "Yes indeed. Bring me stuff like this, and that. Reach this place and bring proof you have arrived at the exact coordinates, just like that. How about it? Adding a bit of flair and a bit of a way for you guys to explore the dungeon and bring me a few stuff just before you can buy them from me. What do you guys say?"

Hearing this, the adventurers nodded. "We will do it."

Their confirmation made Elaina grin. Now, she had a few people who would be helping in the exploration. She just hoped that these youngsters were great in their jobs and would not kick the bucket anytime soon.

"It’s going to be a pleasure to work with you people," Elaina smiled as she extended her hand to them. The hand of finalizing a deal.
