A Single Mother's Farm of the Gods

Chapter 211: Cultivation of the Four Season Field [I]

The next day arrived and the snowfall started once again. The barrier that Julia erected around the farm helps destroy all of the excess snow that would potentially bury the whole farm under the snow if not controlled.

Elaina just finished breastfeeding her two kids and she is currently spending time with the two as they didn’t sleep after getting a good burp after their meal. Despite being babies, Elaina can totally tell the behavior of the two babies apart from each other and even though they look identical, they are not the same.

Adelaide is very quiet and reserved. She doesn’t chuckle when Elaina plays a peek-a-boo on her and only through actions does she know that the baby is enjoying it. She can also see her smile pretty sweet. She is what Elaina considered a silent and introverted type of baby. Of course, that could change once they grow up but she can’t help but see it.

Arthur on the other hand is very vocal and very active. His giggles are very vocal and he is much more energetic than Adelaide. Elaina can even picture him as the sporty, and extrovert from the twins. Total opposite, but they are twins.

"Both of your babies are growing fast, Sis. It won’t take long until they will be able to walk on their own and speak normally and I can’t wait for that to happen," Julia is excited as she plays with the twins by making funny faces before them.

"Yes. It felt like yesterday when I was still carrying them inside me and now, they are within my grasp. Even though I slowly hated their father over the months, I am not angry that they were born. I am blessed that they are given to me despite my flaws."

She would make sure that her two kids would be able to live freely and live a happy and productive life from childhood to adulthood. It doesn’t matter if they have no father while they are growing up. I will ensure that they will not need that man in their life.

"Hmm, then what about your happiness, Sis? Now that you have divorced your old husband, you are single again. Shouldn’t you be getting someone who will become your pillar from the ups and downs in your life?" Julia asked.

"You mean...you wanted me to find another man...and remarry?" Elaina was shocked.

"I mean, you are not getting younger, Sis. And the kids are going to grow older as well. They might have their father, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have another father that they will view as their father instead of the cheater who their real father is," Julia explained.

Elaina sighed. "At the moment, no. And possibly in the future as well. I am fine having some friendships with another man, but having a serious relationship? I don’t think I am ready for that just yet."

A few hours later, the snowfall ended and Elaina started to prepare for her new job and new things to do. Even though it is currently winter doesn’t mean farming stops right there. Elaina wears her winter farming outfit, draped under the thick coat made from thick materials that are apparently made from the fur of some monster sheep. It’s great for cold weather and it protects her from the climate.

Elaina also brought the seed bag with her and her trusty hoe. It would have been great if the vehicle that her brother is making is already done and ready to go. Perhaps she can use it on that dungeon. Then again, it would be hard to keep the vehicle inside the dungeon and let it out after with how narrow the passages of each corridor.

She also brought along her watering can. It would have been great if she had some magic that could be used for watering the plants or maybe if she could set up some of the water sprinklers there but right now, the old trusty watering can will do. And besides, this should also add up to the mastery points that the Almanac has right now. She needed all the mastery points at this point.

Julia gave her the usual red stone as the snow may be piling up on the way to the dungeon so having it would help a lot. After that, Elaina kissed goodbye to her two babies and asked Julia to help watch over the two while she went to work.

"Without authorization, no permits nor adventurer’s guild card, no entry."

"What?" Elaina frowned after an employee of the Adventurer’s Guild blocked her way to enter the dungeon.

"But it shouldn’t be the case! I can fight and don’t need someone to defend me and I have been here many times before and no one ever stopped me from entering this place!"

"Sorry about that Ma’am but the protocols and rules for this dungeon have been changed after the discovery of the dungeon’s hidden labyrinth. We are just following protocol, ma’am."

Elaina scratches her head. Nobody informed her about this. Now that this is happening, how can she even access the farm if she can’t even enter?

She is about to give up when her grandfather comes up and speaks. "Don’t worry, she has the authorization to go inside. Her guild card is still being made so this paper should suffice for now until her card is fully processed."

The adventurer’s guild employee straightened up after seeing Rakkan coming as he handed over the papers. He took the papers and took a few second glances before nodding.

"No problems here, Sir. She can go in now."

Hearing that, Elaina looked at her grandfather who smiled at her.

"Sorry for not telling you about this change, Elaina my dear. After the labyrinth was discovered inside the dungeon, its danger levels have increased and they are no longer lenient in guarding this place. Even adventurers allowed to enter has been been increased from beginner to expert and professional levels. Can’t have casualties in there just because they are beginners."

"Is it alright for me to be in there? I am not technically an adventurer," Elaina looked at the paper that had been handed to her and it was the paper that mentioned her name that allowed her access to the dungeon without any items needed for identification.

"It’s fine. And besides, even if you are not an adventurer, your capabilities are already at the Expert level or maybe even at the professional level. You are more than qualified to enter this place just fine."

Elaina shrugged a bit. She does have the capabilities to handle dangerous things so she is a bit surprised that even her grandfather casually said she is around the expert to professional levels if she was an adventurer. If things had not been strict with her parents and she had not been involved in the royalty stuff, perhaps she might be an adventurer by now.

Without any bars on entering, Elaina entered with her grandfather inside the dungeon. Nothing much has changed except that by the time they arrive at the area where the illusion is currently situated, two guards are waiting there. The two looked at them before nodding and resuming their guard duties. It seems that even with the presence of her grandfather alone is enough for her to enter the four seasons field normally.

Since the two guards didn’t bar them from getting in, the two entered the illusion and they soon arrived at the four seasons field.

"I will be talking with the others over here, Elaina. You can do your thing now and don’t worry about it here."

Elaina nodded. She then headed to the Spring Season field and checked the area. So far, there is nothing there that is far from ordinary and the artifact remains hidden Everything is all good.

There are some weeds here and there on the field but not as much of a mess as back on the farm. Still a bit of a mess though. As she was about to go and check out the field’s mess and pick them up to clean it and start tilling the soil, she soon noticed a few brown rectangular things poking out of the soil.

"Wait a minute...are those Bamboo shoots?"

Elaina grabbed her little garden shovel and started shoveling the "bamboo shoots" carefully before plucking them off the ground.

"Well, I will be damned, but there was actually some bamboo shoots growing in this field!" Elaina couldn’t believe she was holding onto one.

"[Great find, Elaina. It seems that this field does have a very good environment for a bamboo shoot directly growing here.]" The God of Farming seems to agree with Elaina.

"This will be a great addition to some of my recipes. I needed a few of these and I can sell a few of them too if there are many around here."

"Indeed. And this is one of the things I will start cultivating in the future. Can’t be a good spring season without tasting any bamboo shoots."

Elaina smiled. With this, discovery, she found another good source of income while waiting for the crops to grow and a tasty ingredient that would be very good for the stomach of a hungry customer.
