Chapter 190: Here Comes the Autumn Fair [II]

Elaina’s questions allowed her to fully verify the guy before her about the seeds and their legitimacy. A good florist would always recommend flowers that are easy to grow if they are asked what plants or flowers are easy to grow. Those who only seek profit will start recommending pretty and eye-catching flowers that are sometimes expensive and are not worth the money most of the time due to how costly it is to take care of, or sometimes just not possible to grow due to the climate or they are not in season.

Since the florist before her was honest and recommended newbie flowers, Elaina asked for seeds that they sell for flowers and bought a few for each season. It might not be profitable but decorating the farm with some new colors using the flowers would be a good idea to improve the image of the place. Besides, it is good for the eyes to have and it can increase the beauty of the place little by little.

She also bought a few pots as well. The pots that she owned are used for the crops if she needed to grow some saplings before transferring them over to the farm plots so having another set exclusive for flowers would be ideal.

"Thank you for the purchase!"

Elaina left the stall happy while Julia held the bag containing the seeds and pots.

"Looks like you are happy with your purchase, dear," Grandma smiled at Elaina.

"These flowers would make the farm look good if they are planted and some of them might be a good way to attract some bees. If we can get some bees to come and live near some tree, we can extract some honey from them and that would be an extremely lucky way to earn some."

Her grandma nodded in approval. "Good thinking. Although there are only a few bees coming here and there, having a group of bees that would produce honey would be another great resource for you in the future. Of course, if you manage to even attract one."

Elaina does hope she can attract a few and it will settle down on the farm but honestly, she has low hopes for that. She does think about the monsters which are insects that resemble a bee. Perhaps if she has given birth, maybe she can tame one to earn some honey? Possible.

After checking out the nearby stalls, they didn’t see anything that would attract their attention. Julia does have one that she was interested in and so they went and purchased the item she wanted to get. They spent a few more times circling around until the God of Fishing stopped Elaina in her tracks.

"[Elaina, can you go and check that item near the fishing stall? There is one thing that is currently sitting there that catches my attention]," the God of Fishing requested.

Hearing the request, Elaina turned to the stall that specializes in selling goods for fishing and also sells fish. From the looks of it, the God of Fishing spotted something that he is currently eyeing.

"Are you referring to the fishes in the aquarium?" Elaina asked.

"No. Go look at the tools, the ones near the fishing poles."

Following the request, Elaina arrived at the section of the stall where the fishing poles were located. The stall sells a variety of them and some of them are even made from different materials. However, it seems the God of Fishing is not interested in the fishing poles but in the one below the fishing poles present.

"[That one. The one that looks like a harpoon attached to some sort of toy.]"

Elaina’s eyes landed on the only tool that could be called a Harpoon and a toy at the same time. The Speargun.

Picking it up, Elaina can tell that this thing is quite a tool for fishing. Although it isn’t as big as a Harpoon cannon or Harpoon gun, it is great for fishing small to medium-sized fish.

"Are you interested in Speargun, customer?" the storeowner asked.

"Is this still functional?" Elaina asked.

"Yes, dear customer. The Speargun still works and it is very effective for catching fast fishes that cannot be caught normally with regular fishing rods. We can even test it out for you to see its function."

Elaina nodded and the vendor immediately set up the target area for the speargun. He used a balloon as the target practice and made sure that the audience who were watching was not too near the speargun. He loads the spear or the little "harpoon" into the speargun and then fires it straight to the balloon.

POP!

The balloon popped so quickly that Elaina wasn’t even able to blink before it popped.

"Despite how it looks, this speargun is designed to be easily loaded without the need to have trouble pulling a string or a lever just to reload it with new ammo. Using this little lever that will maintain its lock which will launch the ammunition once the trigger is pulled, reloading has never been much easier."

"[Buy it! That tool is very likely the one we will need for catching almost impossible fish to catch in the future! And besides, quick fishing on shallow waters will be fast and easy, plus, it can act as a secondary weapon for self-defense. It is like a loaded gun, just not with lead bullets.]"

"How much?" Elaina asked.

"Since you are the first to check on this speargun, I will give you at least a 5% discount."

"Wow! How generous!" Julia was delighted to hear that.

"Alright, thanks for the discount, but how much?"

"With the discount already deducted, I should say that you only needed to pay 95,000 gold."

Hearing that, Elaina felt like she was about to choke. That was way too expensive than she thought and her money is not enough to even buy it."

"Isn’t it just too expensive? I mean, it’s a bit small for the price alone...How about just 10,000 gold?" Elaina asked.

"Ma’am, I can’t do that. This speargun is my only speargun available in this stall and I don’t think I can even find another kind of this one anymore. You can say that this is the only speargun like this existing in this world. 10,000 gold is just a big rip-off. 90,000 gold and we have a deal."

"20,000 gold then."

"90,000 gold. I can’t go any lower than that."

Elaina internally cursed and started to talk to the God of Fishing, mentally.

"There is no way I can purchase this speargun with my money, God of Fishing! I only have a budget of 23,000 gold and even I can say that this is more expensive than what it looks. Even with my skills as a businesswoman, the lowest I can haggle with this should be around 70,000 gold without fully ripping the owner off and even that would be way beyond my budget. 90,000 gold is already a bargain, especially because it is the only thing left in this world besides its quality to be easily reloaded. Even I can agree that he can’t lower it enough to my budget!"

"[Can you find a way? This will be a great addition to your arsenal!]"

But it is impossible. How can she even lower its price further without angering the owner? Just as she thought of giving up, someone pats Elaina on the back and told the store owner.

"Make that 89,000 and we get a deal. How about it?"

"...Well, alright! Sold!" The owner immediately said and handed over the Speargun to the newcomer.

"Grandpa?" Elaina was surprised to see that the one who purchased it was none other than her grandfather.

"Hehe, Grandpa to the rescue!" her Grandpa smiled and handed over the Speargun to her hands. "Now that it is purchased, this item...is now yours."
