Chapter 188: Here Comes the Autumn Fair [I]

After the incident of the Young Duke died down, the Autumn Fair is back to full circle and is resumed again. Now that the situation is great again, the Autumn Fair can now be held once more and the Royal Family extended an apology to the merchants who came to join the Autumn Fair and promised to compensate them in case they have some goods that went bad as a result of the delay which most merchants were pretty much understanding except for a few bad eggs who took advantage of it to earn money. Of course, they got what they deserved.

At the moment, Elaina and the girls are being escorted by Troy and Grandpa who are eager to look at the fair. Grandma, on the other hand is currently helping Elaina and is currently under lookout in case something will happen to her.

"Considering the fair was almost cancelled by the controversy, it seems the Autumn Fair is much bigger in scale than before," Grandpa said as he admired the stalls selling various merchandises.

"According to the news I heard, Princess Tabatha lead the festivals’ comittee with the help of the Market to ensure that the fair will be lively and big for the merchants to take advantage of after the incident. They are organizing different things to ensure that the Merchants who came from other lands will not go home disappointed," Troy explained.

"That explains this big line ups of merchants here. To think the princess herself would think of this to sway the thoughts of the people and forget about the incident immediately," Grandpa praised Princess Tabatha’s work.

Princess Margaux smiled after hearing the praises of Grandpa and she can’t help but be proud that her sister did all of this without the help of the King and Queen.

As for Elaina, her eyes keeps on darting around each stalls, keeping an eye to every single one that might help increase with the profitability of the farm and also if she can find a few rare seeds that cannot be purchased in the local market and are also not available for purchase using FP.

When everyone reached the middle of the city where most of the biggest attractions and other things that make the fair lively, everyone has dispersed. The only one who remained by Elaina’s side are Grandma and Julia.

"Are you sure that you have nothing to buy, Grandma? I am alright, you know?" Elaina said to make her grandma at least enjoy the fair herself.

"Haha, no worries, I am enjoying myself just fine. And I already asked your Grandpa to do the purchase himself on my behalf. He knows what I wanted to get so he will surely be already buying what I wanted. No need for me to do another," Grandma heartily laughed.

"What about you, Julia? I am quite sure you wanted to buy something."

"I do have something to buy, but we can just pass on it, I will just buy there if we get there," Julia reasoned.

"You can go there now, don’t worry about me, I am still capable of supporting your big sis, no need to worry," Grandma smiled.

Julia shook her head. "Nah, I am here all the way for Sis. It’s not like what I wanted to buy is something I needed to buy. I am just looking for it if it is viable for me to purchase. No need to worry," Julia insisted.

"Well, if you insist..." Elaina gave up convincing Julia. As much as she wanted her to have fun as well, Julia is known for her stubborness. Despite wearing a maid outfit, she still doesn’t act like a maid until now which makes it a bit ironic.

Due to this, Elaina decided that she will be buying something since one of the stalls are currently displaying flowers of variety. Potted and saplings, there are various things for sale there.

"Wow, these flowers are beautiful!" Julia said as she tried to touch one of the flowers.

"AHEM...Please, dear customer. Avoid touching the flowers directly on their flowers. If you plan to touch them, touch their leaves and stems, touching their flowers directly will damage them beyond repair," a man appeared behind Elaina and the others as Julia was about to touch the displayed flower.

"Ah! I am sorry!" Julia quickly retract her hands that were about to make contact with the flowers.

"Thanks for understanding. I am not forbidding you girls to touch the merchandise, just don’t touch them on their sensitive parts like the flowers. Feel free to browse," the man said as he remained professional.

Elaina approached him while looking at the flowers growing on the pot.

"It seems you know your way around taking care of flowers, I see," Elaina started to strike conversation with him.

"Of course. You can say that due to my close relationship with flowers, I sometimes think of them as my children of my own? Ahem, sorry about that, treat that as some random ramblings of mine," the young man cleared his throat.

"No, its admirable to be honest. Any recommendations for beginners?" Elaina asked. She is not really a beginner but she wanted to see if this guy would be the same as most florists she have seen in her time back when she was still the empress.

"Absolutely. What kind of flowers do you want? If you have some area like a greenhouse or sunroom that you can utilize from to avoid seasonal growth, I have a few recommendations to you. Sunflowers are great, not only they have big flowers, but their seeds are useful as feeds for various pets and animals and they can also be used as ingredients to various uses. They are also easy to grow so any beginner can start as well. Of course, if sunflowers are not your dig, then hibiscus, marigolds and sweet pea are great as well."

Elaina nodded. What he said are indeed true. They are quite easy to grow and he didn’t lie for profit like going straight to roses like most florists do. Still, she is not done questioning.

"How about those who don’t have access to sunrooms and greenhouses? Are there some viable flowers to plant?"

"Hmm, without a sunroom or greenhouse, huh? Well, you are limited in choices as a result. Sunflowers do work, dahlias and pansies as well," he then put out a few examples of those flowers he mentioned and put them on display for Elaina and group to see.

Seeing his recommendations, Elaina nodded and smiled. This guy is the real deal. And seeing his variety of plants available for sale, it seems that Elaina can snag a few stuff for her to use and grow on the farm soon enough.
