Chapter 165: Chapter 165: HOLDING ONTO THE GOLDEN THIGH
"Home sweet home!" as she looked at the familiar city, Diana couldn’t help but joyfully utter out loud.
After being on the road for weeks, she was finally home, and her parents were waiting for her arrival.
Thinking about how anxious they were right now because of wanting to hear more about Calista, a smile blossomed on her face.
As her entourage approached the manor, her parents were indeed waiting for her and she could see them from a distance.
Luckily, it didn’t take long before she was in front of her parents and hugging the two, since she hadn’t seen them in a very long time.
"Did you miss me?" Diana asked shamelessly as soon as she pulled away.
Ma Diana hit her daughter playfully, seeing how shameless she was acting when they were still outside.
As for her father, he simply shook his head as he wore that doting smile on his face.
"Hehe, even if you don’t say a thing, I know that you missed me. Let’s go inside!" she urged upon seeing the attention that they were drawing outside.
The three of them laughed as they entered the manor gates, leaving the drivers to their own devices. They knew what to do, so she didn’t need to tell them what to do.
As for Diana’s friends. As soon as they entered the city, everyone went their separate ways. They have been away from home for a long time, after all.
Inside the manor, Diana chunked a cup of warm water, quenching her thirst and smacked her lips with satisfaction once she was done.
The two parents simply looked at this without reacting too much. At times, their daughter acted more like a gentleman and not a lady, so they were used to seeing her like that.
At least, she was only like that when she was around them and never once like that when they were guests. So, this matter wasn’t as serious as what others might presume.
After drinking her water, Diana looked at her parents and, seeing the urging gaze on their faces, couldn’t help but smile brightly, finding the moment to be one of the best moments in her life.
It was rare to see this couple so eager to know about her travels. Of course, she understood that it was because of Calista, but still, she was happy to have returned home.
Diana, however, didn’t keep her parents waiting for long. They weren’t good-tempered, and toying with them might result in her grounding. So, without infuriating them and keeping them on edge for long, she started narrating to the parents what happened. From start to finish, while exaggerating and making big movements.
The couple listening to this simply kept to memory what they thought made sense and brushed aside some of the stories that didn’t make sense at all.
When all was said, they concluded.
Their savior was doing pretty well and had made a name for herself. She was starting a business to improve the villager’s lives and at the moment; she was pregnant and her husband ran away, forcing her to repudiate the marriage.
The more they think about this scammer of a husband, the more they think of searching for this person and teaching him a lesson. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any information about him, making it impossible to find him.
On top of that, their savior entrusted their daughter with a big purchase. Knowing that the couple was overjoyed and even found a way to repay the saving grace of last time.
"I don’t care how you deal with your previous transactions, but this time, dear, you better do everything cautiously and only find the best. Do you hear me?" Ma Diana sternly advised her daughter, her tone very serious as she did so.
Diana didn’t joke around this time but nodded her head as she agreed with her mother.
"Don’t worry, mother. I won’t play with this matter. I am even planning on buying several slaves who know these crafts. What do you think?"
When Ma Diana heard that, she applauded as she looked at her daughter with praise. "You can think well nowadays. You find the best and make sure that they are in her name and not ours. We can’t let her doubt us!"
"Don’t worry, mother. I know what to do."
With the three of them on the same page, they talked for a long time, coming up with ideas on what to do and how to do it.
There was no time to rest at all.
In the days that followed, Diana wasn’t idle at all as she ran around in search of what Calista wanted.
At the same time, her parents were helping her find what she couldn’t find. Their connections were broader than hers, making it faster for a lot of things to be acquired swiftly.
Diana’s family movements were no longer that surprising to other families.
With Diana being a wandering merchant, if she doesn’t go around buying things, it would be very abnormal.
So, when she started buying things and people, no one took it seriously or even bothered to find out.
And that made it easy for her to get everything that she wanted in a short period.
Before she knew it, her carriages were once again filled with merchandise. The one she was sent to buy and the other from her parents, who could only do it this way to show their gratitude towards Calista.
When everything was ready, it was time for her to leave again.
This time, her parents sent her off and repeatedly advised her to not be an embarrassment and to bond more with Calista.
Hearing that, Diana inwardly thought to herself, ’There was no need to be reminded. As she planned to hug this thigh called Calista with all the shamelessness in the world.’
There was more to her than what she was letting on, and she wanted to benefit from it.
Why would she be foolish to not hold on to such a good opportunity?
Nevertheless, she listened attentively like the good daughter she was and vowed repeatedly to not let them down before she finally left.
As she took a last look at her parents, Diana felt emotional.
She knew how much her parents wanted to see Calista and yet because the other hadn’t given her permission yet, they couldn’t do as they wished.
When she sees Calista this time, she is going to convince her to let her parents drop by for a visit. She didn’t need to travel to Altville City to do so. Let them come themselves.
Consider it as her fulfilling her parents’ wish.
She was also a filial daughter.
Thinking like that, Diana couldn’t wait to see the other again.
And as the carriages made their way towards the destination, she couldn’t help but wonder.
’What is she doing right now?’
