Volume 15 Chapter 32: Keith vs Draezar

The next day, Keith headed over to the stadium. Today was the final. Before he could leave the castle, "Eri, you can't go."

“Why not?!” Fira whined as she held his head. This baffled them. Keith told them they were not allowed to come to the final day.

"I don't want you guys to go." Not today.

"Listen to him, dears." Lilith was gentle as she rubbed their heads, "You'll be staying here with me. I'll give you cookies." Keith came prepared; he handed the demon queen a jar full of cookies.

There were some even she had never seen before. Eri still pouted but agreed in the end; she held onto the helm of Lilith's dress. She had a teary expression as she waved her hands, "Bye-bye, papa."

"Be obedient." Keith rubbed their heads. Before he left, he glanced at Aria. There were no words; the owl got the message as she flew beside the little ones. It was her job to protect them.

"It's tough being a dad." Valgros sighed. Of course, he understood why Keith didn't want her to watch the tournament. There were multiple reasons for this. One had to be the crowd; from the vulgar words shouted, the little one got a private space to not listen. Even that, no one wanted their child to suffer through that.

The second was Draezar. He just attacked her. And finally, the incident yesterday night. The culprit was clearly attempting to attack Eri. If they went, there would be trouble.

"But I doubt Draezar would really cause trouble during the tournament." There was too much security for him to pull a stunt like this.

“...It’s not about that.” Keith shook his head.

“Hmm?” Valgros tilted his head.

"Nothing."

The two headed over to the venue, where he quickly passed. The guards didn't look at him at all. Keith smiled, "Having you here makes the process smoother." Valgros was a hero to the demons. The guards would always try to glare at him, trying to scare him. However, they looked away with Valgros here.

"I'm your protection until the end." Valgros decided to be a bodyguard for the end of the tournament.

"Thanks." Keith headed for the lobby to wait. That was when he spotted Scarlet. However, his eyes focused on someone else, “Why are you here?” Tharaziel was sitting in a wheelchair.

“What? Can’t I be here?”

“Not when you’re like this?” Besides being in a wheelchair, the man was still covered in bandages. His face was hidden except for his eyes and mouth.

Valgros sighed, “Such hardheadedness. You’re the same stubborn idiot when you were a kid."

“Shut it!” Tharaziel started to cough.

“Tharaziel.” Elyndra eyed him. Clearly, he had complained about coming here. If he didn't, there was no way he could be here. The prince still coughed while he glared at Keith, "You better win this! I lost, so take care of him as my replacement! I'm going to haunt you if you lose this!"

“...You make it sound like you’re going to die any moment.” Keith shook his head

“I owe you one for saving my life.” He heard that Keith had handed him some fruits and other things to save his life. He was the one who owed him a debt with all of this.

“Yes, yes.” Keith smiled as he was prepared to head out. But that was when Scarlet came into it and kissed his cheek, “Come back with the victory.”

“Alright.” Keith waved as he headed up to the arena. But when he did, “So you noticed a weirdness to him.”

“...Mmhmm.” Scarlet nodded. The feeling coming from his body was different from before. Actually, she felt something change after the fight against Valgros.

“There was a chill in the air.”

"He should be fine," Valgros added, "He fought the same during our spar. He's more than ready to take care of Draezar." His fighting capabilities were still the same.

“...” The two stood on the stage. Before them was Alastair and the rest of the demon family. The announcer stated, “Do you two have any words you wish to say?”

“Nothing. What do I have to say to a loser?”

“I only have one thing to say.” Keith took a deep breath, “What’s going to happen next isn’t going to be kid-friendly.”
