Chapter 94: Chapter 92: Journey of 10 Days

"Yes, maybe we don’t even need ten days. As long as what’s recorded on this map is true, we can certainly reach the exit point marked on the map, at most in ten days." Qin Jiagui shouted excitedly, couldn’t help but swing his arm.

Yuan Niping stepped forward, tightly holding his arm, a look of joy on her face.

Yuan Niping has a gentle personality and seldom speaks, but a single action has already spoken louder than a thousand words.

Qin Jiagui gently patted her hand, and Zhang Zhongmou curiously asked, "Even so, why are you drawing the map on this stone wall?"

Qin Jiagui looked at the two large maps he had drawn on the stone wall, one large and one small. The larger one was the treasure map, and the smaller one was the map Jennifer had left in her diary. He laughed and said, "I think, thanks to Jennifer’s guidance, we were able to find this exit. We should also leave something for those who come later, so I drew these two maps and added some notes. This way, if other people find this cave, they can also accurately find the direction of the exit by comparing with the two maps on the stone wall. Hehe, so it took a little longer."

Everyone was stunned, and Zhang Zhongmou laughed, "You are really thoughtful. Should we call you smart or fool?"

Yuan Niping whispered, "Jiagui is kind. He always considers others more. The part I like about him...is this."

Qin Jiagui smiled when he heard Yuan Niping say this, and said, "You’re the same, aren’t you?"

Zhang Zhongmou shook his head with a tsk, unable to bear the two of them showing their affection like this.

Ma Ziye said, "Qin Jiagui, since you know the direction, let’s set off earlier."

Su Yu stepped out of the cave, looked up slightly, and said, "It’s noon, let’s all eat something here."

Zhang Zhongmou said, "Okay, Qin Jiagui, does the map mark where there is a river? Damn, it’s so uncomfortable not to take a shower for so many days."

If he hadn’t spoken, everyone would have felt uncomfortable and started itching all over. Ma Ziye glared at him and said, "You always bring up what is not necessary."

Zhang Zhongmou shouted, "I’m thinking for everyone. It’s really ungrateful."

Qin Jiagui shook his head and said, "The map really doesn’t mark that, but...this treasure map is really strange. Inside a monster’s body, there is a map of the exit."

Su Yu said, "It seems that inside the bodies of monsters with golden blood, there is a treasure box, and the things in the box are not the same. The treasure box in the Golden Goblin I killed contained an ’Earth Spike Ring’, while the treasure box inside the ’Golden Goblin’ that York couple killed contained a map of the exit."

Li Dong sighed, "Luckily York went crazy, otherwise they would have left following the map, and we wouldn’t have got this map."

Zhang Zhongmou said, "You are so ruthless. Their family was all buried on the side. Be careful they become ghosts and look for you at night."

Li Dong snorted, not saying a word. He knew that Zhang Zhongmou was a loudmouth, and arguing with him was meaningless.

Zhao Shichang murmured, "The journey of nearly ten days? I really hope everything goes well."

Everyone used to be very frugal with their food, but when they heard Qin Jiagui say that they could leave this world in at most ten days and there was still plenty of food, they unconsciously began to eat more.

After filling their stomachs, they quickly left the cave and set off, each carrying an excited look. Their future was no longer as vague as before, but had a goal. Based on Qin Jiagui’s calculations, as long as there were no accidents, they could definitely get out of this terrifying forest within a maximum of ten days.

But it presupposed that there were no accidents on the way.

According to the direction marked on this treasure map, Qin Jiagui looked at the map a few more times before putting it in his arms, pointed forward, and said, "North, that’s the direction. Everyone be careful on the way, we are already heading towards the exit. I hope we all make it to the exit alive."

Zhang Zhongmou laughed, "Definitely, damn it, we’re lucky enough to find a map to the exit. I guess heaven is finally watching over us, our luck is bound to be good."

Following the direction Qin Jiagui indicated, there was a patch of towering trees in front, lush with leaves and branches, with no obvious path to walk through. Walking in front, Zhao Shichang extended his right hand, transforming it into a black, roundish hard-shell shape. At the tip of this shell, a slit opened up, reminiscent of a baby’s mouth, from which a snow-white bone knife about a foot long extended.

With a wave of the bone knife, a "crack" sounded, and several obstructing branches that stretched in front of him were immediately snapped off and fell to the ground.

Qin Jiagui followed beside him, pulling away branches constantly. The group was having a hard time navigating. Su Yu, out of habit, was still at the very end of the team, casting quick glances around from time to time. In a place with such lush foliage, the view was restricted, making it easy to be prey to any lurking monsters.

"Everyone be on alert," Qin Jiagui repeated. Each person was alert, with a heavy package on their back, each one of them laboriously trudging along.

"Everybody, be careful, there’s movement." Suddenly, Su Yu, walking at the very end, issued a low warning to the others. Everyone could tell he was purposely lowering his voice.

"What?" Zhang Zhongmou hastily responded.

Zhou Birong immediately raised her pistol in her right hand. Soon, the group heard other noises coming from not too far off to their left. From the sound of it, it seemed like another group of people were pulling at branches and pushing through the undergrowth, progressing forward.

Because of the surrounding foliage and thickets of grass and shrubs, the group could hear the noise getting closer, but they didn’t know who the approaching party was.

Were they humans or beasts?

Qin Jiagui and others all stopped and slowly changed their formation. They quickly formed a triangle, its tip facing to the left where the noise was coming from, with Su Yu at the tip of the triangle.

These past few days, the group had been discussing about team cooperation, coming up with strategies for different situations. What to do if they encountered a group of level one beast soldiers, or a powerful individual monster? And for situations like what they were facing now - unforeseen circumstances - they would instantly form a defensive, attack-ready triangle formation, and so on.

The group formed a triangle formation, but then they heard a strange noise. From the dense trees, shrubs, and undergrowth about a dozen meters away came "thud" after "thud" of heavy objects falling to the ground. It sounded like one person after another falling down. And then, there was no more sound.

"What..." The group looked at each other. No one could understand what had happened.

"I’ll go check it out." After a brief moment, Su Yu said. The group couldn’t just stay frozen there, incapable of either advancing or retreating. Nodding to Qin Jiagui and others, Su Yu prepared to silently go ahead alone and check out the situation.

Seeing Su Yu parting the branches and going ahead alone, Ma Ziye, who had been avoiding Su Yu, bit her lip and finally followed him.

It couldn’t be denied, Su Yu with his strong attacking power, combined with Ma Ziye’s "Steel Web," made the best pairing. The situation ahead was strange, and Ma Ziye didn’t feel at ease with Su Yu going on his own. She finally followed him, overlooking her annoyance.

The others stayed put, ready for anything, waiting for Su Yu and Ma Ziye to clarify the situation ahead and then decide on further actions.

As Su Yu went ahead stealthily, black scales, silent and unseen, rose to the surface of his chest. With his progressing skill level, these black scales were becoming more black, like patches of iron forged into steel, possessing unimaginable hardness and sharpness.

Once Su Yu and Ma Ziye made their way through the bushes and walked about seven or eight meters, they suddenly froze in place. Looking at the scene before them, they were taken aback.

The scene was indescribably eerie, and even hair-raising.
