Chapter 793: Chapter 604 Red-Haired Man_1

In their eyes, the Phoenix Dragon Beast, a creature that combined the traits of both a dragon and a phoenix, was a complete freak.

"Hey, I’m the Phoenix Dragon Beast, I possess the lineage of both dragons and phoenixes, half of my blood is just like yours..." the Phoenix Dragon Beast excitedly shouted while diving down, a hint of pride on its face because the giant birds before it only had the blood of the phoenix, whereas it boasted the lineage of both the dragon and the phoenix. In terms of rank, it considered itself more noble than the giant birds before it, so it was inevitably feeling a bit smug and innately superior.

The Phoenix Dragon Beast plunged down excitedly. It was just about to perch on a towering giant bamboo when suddenly, a giant bird with purple feathers, resembling the legendary phoenix, swooped towards its face.

The Phoenix Dragon Beast thought it was being welcomed, but then realized something was wrong when the purple giant bird stretched out its eagle-like giant claws and grabbed at her head.

A "hiss" and the Phoenix Dragon Beast, caught off guard, immediately had its face slashed open, deep red marks appearing and it let out a scream as it tumbled down.

"What’s going on?" Su Yu exclaimed, stepping forward. Wasn’t this the Phoenix Dragon Beast’s homeland? Shouldn’t these giant birds be her kin? Why did that purple giant bird suddenly attack the Phoenix Dragon Beast?

Before Su Yu could figure out what was happening, or even before the Phoenix Dragon Beast understood what had happened to it, two other giant birds rapidly dove after her. One of them, a Golden Giant Bird, extended its iron-like sharp edge to stab at the head of the Phoenix Dragon Beast, while another white giant bird reached out its claws in an attempt to tear the wings of the Phoenix Dragon Beast, as if wanting to rip them apart.

Overwhelmed by the sudden attack, the Phoenix Dragon Beast was stupefied, unable to react promptly. Seeing the critical situation unfold, Su Yu instantly acted, stepping into "Endless Flight," bone spurs appearing on his back forming bony wings, and he propelled himself upwards with a burst of air, confronting the yellow and white giant birds chasing the Phoenix Dragon Beast.

Head-on into the assault, Su Yu deeply felt the terrifying strength of the two giant birds—the air currents generated by the mere flapping of their wings were enough to make Su Yu’s body shake and struggle to stay stable.

Transforming into a four-meter tall Bronze Lizard, his bone wings folded into a "Wing Shield," facing the pecking attack of the yellow giant bird, and his hands reached out to meet the white giant bird’s talons. Just as a collision seemed inevitable, Su Yu’s wrist flicked nimbly, grabbing the foot of the white giant bird and yanking it fiercely.

The "Bronze Blood" in his body clinked crisply as it flowed. Caught off guard by Su Yu’s sudden tug, the white giant bird lost its balance and collided with the yellow giant bird.

Both giant birds grunted as golden and white feathers scattered about. Su Yu took the opportunity to release his grip and, with his wings spread, he gently glided down to the ground.

As the Phoenix Dragon Beast fell, Qin Jiagui moved swiftly, hands bracing to catch the massive weight of the creature, then slowly set it to one side.

The face of the Phoenix Dragon Beast was covered in fresh blood, with five deep gashes. Had the claws struck with more force, its head might have been torn apart. Fortunately, the head of the Phoenix Dragon Beast resembled that of a dragon, covered in scales and much harder than that of the giant birds, which was how it narrowly escaped a worse fate.

"Damn it, is this how you welcome distinguished guests?" The Phoenix Dragon Beast, touching the blood on its face and boiling with anger, pointed at the sky full of giant birds and shouted indignantly.

The two giant birds that had been pulled into the collision by Su Yu grunted and busied themselves flapping their wings, desperately flying up again, as if reluctant to come into contact with the land.

Above them, the purple giant bird that had slashed the Phoenix Dragon Beast suddenly spoke in a clear, cold human voice, "Wretched mongrel, do you still have no self-awareness at this point? Your veins carry the vile dragon blood, and you possess the blood of the phoenix. This is simply the greatest insult to our phoenix clan."

All these giant birds were beings of high intelligence, fluent in a hundred tribal languages. Seeing that the Phoenix Dragon Beast spoke the language of humans, they responded in kind. After delivering its speech, the purple giant bird gave a piercing cry that carried far and wide. Before long, tens of thousands of giant birds joined the chorus, creating a sound so immense it shook the soul.

A mass of yellow, white, and purple giant birds spiraled upward, a dense, dark cloud. In an instant, the Phoenix Dragon Beast, Su Yu, Ziye, and the others felt surrounded on all sides by birds like the mythical phoenix. Even the usually sluggish Didi couldn’t help barking wildly, startled by the magnificent but terrifying sight.

The Phoenix Dragon Beast’s eyes widened in shock as it stupidly gazed at everything before it. In its imagination, arriving here would surely command the highest form of reception, for it possessed the noble lineage of both dragon and phoenix. How could they, these creatures, treat it this way?

The Phoenix Dragon Beast was entirely dumbfounded, while thousands of differently colored phoenixes cried out in unison, their majesty overwhelming, enveloping them all without attacking. Soon, a slightly deep cry came from the distant skies, thundering like a tsunami, and with just that one call, it silenced the clamor of the thousand birds boasting phoenix blood.

As the cry echoed, the birds scattered, clearing a space in the once-oppressive sky. In that space, a figure sliced through the air from afar, quickly descending upon them from above, looking down coldly at the people below—Su Yu, Ma Ziye, and Qin Jiagui—and finally, his gaze landed on the bloodied Phoenix Dragon Beast.

This was a human, with hair red as fire, cheeks adorned with feather-like patterns, a bearded face filled with endless majesty, clothed in a robe woven from fiery red feathers. His hands were clasped behind his back as he floated in the emptiness, his eyes cold as lightning, watching Su Yu, Ma Ziye, Qin Jiagui below and finally resting upon the bloodied Phoenix Dragon Beast.

The cries of the multi-colored phoenixes ceased, and the thousands of birds became silent at the appearance of this red-haired man, clearly, the one whose roar had just quelled the chorus of birds had to be this suspended red-haired man.

The red-haired man had a strange expression, looking down at the Phoenix Dragon Beast below with a mix of joy and hatred, taking a long while before squeezing out a sentence, "Get lost. This place is the sanctuary of the phoenix, a place of sacredness, not to be defiled by outsiders. You have one minute to leave this place, or else, no mercy will be shown."

Following the red-haired man’s order, the birds once again cried out, the sound as tumultuous as storm waves. In contrast, the Phoenix Dragon Beast, Su Yu, and the others appeared incredibly insignificant.

"No, this place is my home, I..." The Phoenix Dragon Beast attempted to speak, but Qin Jiagui suddenly reached out and pressed its head down. The force of Qin Jiagui’s press was so strong that the Phoenix Dragon Beast nearly couldn’t breathe, let alone speak.

"Let’s go," Qin Jiagui said softly and began to drag the Phoenix Dragon Beast back the way they came. Su Yu glanced at Qin Jiagui, then up at the phoenixes in the sky, nodded, and gave Didi, who was barking wildly from fright, a kick, saying, "Let’s go," and followed Qin Jiagui and the Phoenix Dragon Beast back the way they had come.

The birds in the sky continued their hostile cries, while the red-haired man in the center emanated constant waves, apparently in a rather disturbed mood. From a distance, he watched the Phoenix Dragon Beast and looked at the countless phoenixes beside him, muttering, "I never imagined... that this bastard would show signs of obtaining the true lineage, while the pure phoenix blood has, on the other hand, given rise to so many failures..." Disappointment flickered in his eyes as he looked towards the myriad of different-colored birds in the sky, the ’failures’ he referred to, obviously these phoenix-like creatures.

Qin Jiagui, dragging the reluctant Phoenix Dragon Beast, along with Su Yu and the others, left and went around another giant rock. Only after they had moved some distance from the valley where the phoenixes dwelled did Qin Jiagui let go of his grip.

The Phoenix Dragon Beast gasped for air, and without a word, pounced on Qin Jiagui.

Qin Jiagui remained silent as well, the "7" symbol on his forehead emerged, and he threw a punch with his right hand, which had transformed into a metallic fist halfway, surging with a hissing flame of fiery red.

The Phoenix Dragon Beast quickly opened its mouth to breathe out dragon’s breath when it saw the attack coming.

With a "bang," Qin Jiagui’s fist met the dragon’s breath, followed by "boom boom boom boom boom"—five continuous explosions. It was the "Iron Fist Five Explosions." His left arm swept across in a stance meant to clear through legions; as the blow was poised to hit, it seemed inevitable that the Phoenix Dragon Beast would suffer a severe injury.

"Stop!" Su Yu shouted, taking two quick steps and flashing forward. In that instant, he managed to intercept Qin Jiagui’s blow for the Phoenix Dragon Beast.

The flame-enshrouded bronze metallic fist hit Su Yu’s arm, covered in bronze scales, marking the first clash between the two since they became Bronze Warriors. Su Yu felt a slight shock through his arm, a numbing sensation, while Qin Jiagui retracted his fist and looked at the Phoenix Dragon Beast with a hoarse voice, speaking, "If they don’t welcome you, what’s the point of you staying? Do you really think you can defeat those thousands of giant birds?" Through consecutive events, Qin Jiagui’s voice had grown hoarse, his raspy voice making him seem much more mature than before.

Su Yu retracted the bronze scales on his arm and glanced at Qin Jiagui. Although they had just barely touched and both withdrew their true power without a clear winner, that brief contact made Su Yu understand that Qin Jiagui could now control and use some of the "7" seed’s power; otherwise, he couldn’t have matched the force from Su Yu’s inner power, which was thousands of times stronger than a warrior of the same rank.
