Chapter 738: 565 Acrophobia
Qin Jiagui, trailing by about ten meters, didn’t utter a word. He raised his bronze metal arm and let out a booming fire from his chasing cannon, striking the water ball.
Sparks flew as the water ball exploded into a multitude of smaller balls, scattering in all directions, respectively heading towards Su Yu, Qin Jiagui, and Ma Ziye in the rear.
"This is bad!" Su Yu roared lowly. With his enormous will descending down indifferently, the flurry of water balls at once stiffened. His hands formed an enclosure as the "bronze blood" and "black iron blood" within him began to boil and roar. Amid the crisp rustling, an incredibly gigantic cyclone sprang forth. Under Su Yu’s full control and push, all the water bubbles in the sky were sucked up by the cyclone, from the inside of which a sharp shriek echoed.
Su Yu roared in like manner, showing a strain on his face for the first time. Controlling the "cyclone," he could see the ongoing turbulence within it, as if some terrifying creature was on the verge of breaking out. He kept channeling his "bronze blood" and "black iron blood" into the cyclone, creating an even stronger force to meet it head-on.
The Qin Jiagui, Ma Ziye and others behind him exchanged glances; it suddenly dawned on them all that in a battle against a five-star existence, they might not even be able to lend a hand.
Although Su Yu was not a fifth level bronze warrior, clearly, his strength slightly overwhelmed that of the five-star beast general.
Su Yu was fully controlling a massive cyclone vortex formed by the "Apocalyptic Storm," then slowly condensed it from the center. The creature inside seemed to have an extremely strong reaction, to the point that when the cyclone was compressed to a certain size, it could no longer be squeezed to death. On the contrary, a terrifying resistance emanated from inside, as if it was on the brink of breaking free suddenly.
"Damn it——" Su Yu suddenly barked, stretching out his arms to embrace both the vortex and the creature within. With a startlingly explosive roar, the two man-sized green vines under his feet were broken, and the supreme power he had summoned with his arms had completely crushed the creature trapped in the center of the vortex.
The vortex dissipated, releasing a vast amount of green liquid. The scales on Su Yu’s body made a "sizzling" sound, emitting a large amount of smoke. Su Yu had already used his Special Power to form a layer of armor to protect his body. With a shake of his body, he managed to fling the green liquid away.
As the green liquid soaked into the tree branches and vines and disappeared, leaving no trace of the creature, Su Yu still didn’t even know the creature’s name. Even with the "Sacred Eye," he couldn’t capture any hint as to what it was. Even so, Su Yu surmised that it was probably a five-star beast general, possessing very special abilities and incredibly dangerous. If not for him compressing it into a small ball with his "cyclone" force and then squeezing it with both arms to explode its weak points, killing it would have been extremely difficult.
With the appearances of the Great Sword Lizard and this unknown terrifying creature, Su Yu became increasingly grave. These five-star creatures, it seemed, each posed tremendous challenges. At least for Su Yu at this moment, they imperceptibly strained him.
The five-star beast generals were already so terrifying; how formidable then would the six-star "Phoenix Dragon Beast" guarding the exit of this world be?
Su Yu took a deep breath, his face serious, but without a hint of fear or dread. After shaking the green liquid off his body, he continued to climb upward. Behind him, Qin Jiagui, Ma Ziye, Yano, and Diudi followed. Among them, probably only Diudi seemed relaxed, showing no fear or worry, appearing lackadaisical. However, its agility was remarkable, breezing after everyone above. What amazed everyone now was its new attempt at climbing upright.
As Diudi entered Bronze Level evolution, it became increasingly human-like. Its paws had subtly mutated, vaguely resembling a monkey’s hands, and could easily grasp vines and branches to climb up.
Diudi was gifted. Su Yu had always had faith in it, only regretting that Diudi was too lazy and had no ambition. It didn’t care about evolution and was entirely passive to its newly acquired power rather than actively striving for it.
Soon, everyone had scaled to a height of a hundred meters in this Tree Tower. On the way, they encountered only a "Great Sword Lizard" and that unknown creature. Despite both being five-star beast generals, the scarce number of creatures inside the tower took everyone by surprise.
Looking down from this height, Qin Jiagui couldn’t help but shake his head and murmur, "I’m a little dizzy..."
Ma Ziye couldn’t help but smile, "Qin Jiagui, you don’t have acrophobia, do you?"
Qin Jiagui’s face turned red; he indeed nodded and said, "A little...when we’re up too high...indeed...I do get a bit nervous." He was tightly grasping a tree branch, his face somewhat pale.
Hearing this from above, Su Yu was taken aback and he glanced down at Qin Jiagui, surprised to find out he had acrophobia, and couldn’t help but chuckle.
Yano by his side let out a chuckle, "Young man, that’s not good. There’s going to be flying in the future stages of evolution. You can’t have acrophobia."
Qin Jiagui licked his lips and said, "I just can’t go too high, at best... at best I can fly at low altitudes."
Listening to his interesting words, Ma Ziye couldn’t help but giggle. Su Yu above also laughed and with a push of his legs, he leaped up to ten meters, stepping firmly on a green vine. But at that moment, Su Yu suddenly felt something was wrong. Why was this vine so soft?
Before he could answer his own question, the vine underfoot suddenly shook violently. Almost simultaneously, a loud crash echoed from the Tree Tower as green vines and branches broke apart and a massive green shadow sprung up.
Suddenly tossed by the green shadow, Su Yu was thrown off balance and began to fall from a height of a hundred meters under the Tree Tower.
"Su Yu—" Ma Ziye and others cried out in shock. But Su Yu, though startled, maintained his composure. Stingers shot out from his back, releasing a jet of steam that allowed him to perform the "Eight-step Soar". He stepped in the air, returned to the Tree Tower, grabbed a green vine with both hands, and launched himself up twenty meters. By then, the green shadow had fully revealed itself to be a giant green boa measuring dozens of meters long.
Compared to this bronze-colored boa, the Bronze Serpents summoned by Ma Ziye looked like immature small snakes.
After launching himself twenty meters, Su Yu leapt aside as the green boa raised itself and then crashed down with a force that seemed to topple mountains and overturn seas. As it descended, it caused branches and green vines at its landing spot to shatter. Su Yu flung up his left arm and unleashed an "Apocalyptic Storm".
With a simple thought, one "Apocalyptic Storm" after another formed torrents of wind that rushed towards the giant boa.
The green boa writhed its body, shattering the forming windstorms with powerful hits. In the meanwhile, Su Yu closed in on its head, which was shielded by the Bronze Giant Arm, and clashed with the boa.
Down below, Qin Jiagui’s Double Shoulder Cannon Tower sprang up. The rapid firing caused flashes of fiery light, and one shell after another bombarded the boa’s body, causing the Tree Tower to shake continuously.
Ma Ziye clapped her hands together and summoned a series of Bronze Serpents that stretched towards the massive boa. On the other side, Yano summoned the Black Smoke Sword and Bronze Smoke that rained down on the boa.
While Su Yu was locked in a melee battle with the boa, Qin Jiagui, Ma Ziye, and Yano provided support from behind, their teamwork gradually becoming more effective.
Although the serpents summoned by Ma Ziye were no match for the green boa, once they wrapped around it, they could delay its movements. Then came a round of bombardment from Qin Jiagui and Yano. While they couldn’t seriously injure the monster, they could significantly disrupt its actions. It was at this moment that Su Yu summoned a Bronze Hammer. With his Bronze Giant Arm and Black Iron right arm gripping the hammer, he roared, raised the hammer high and struck down fiercely.
With a resounding crash, the Tree Tower shook. The snake’s flat head burst apart like a gob of sauce, dying instantly. However, even without a head, the snake’s body continued to wriggle for a few moments before it finally died.
Five star-shaped Bronze Crystal Cores rose up, which Su Yu absorbed into his body. New scales continuously emerged. Finally, the round, black scales on his chest were all replaced by large, sharp, bronze-colored scales.
Once the black scales on his back were replaced with bronze scales, he would have reached the limit of a Third Level Bronze Warrior. The energy he absorbed would reach saturation. If he took one step further, he would truly evolve into a Fourth-Order Bronze Warrior.
This green boa possessed five star-shaped Bronze Crystal Cores and was clearly a monster that had reached the Five-star Beast General level. Of the three monsters they had encountered on this Tree Tower, all were Five-star Beast Generals. Su Yu raised his head, speculating that the monsters inhabiting this Tree Tower were all likely Five-star level creatures.
After killing this green boa, Su Yu put away his Bronze Hammer, and the group continued to climb down. However, after only descending for about twenty meters, they had to stop again. Looking up, they saw a colossal snake charging at them from around a hundred meters above on the Tree Tower.
This was another green boa, but slightly different from the one they had just killed.
This one was adorned with copper coin-like spots all over its body and had a blood-red crest on its head, making it look much more ferocious and evil. From a distance, it released a malevolent and terrifying aura. Instinctively, they felt that this spotty green boa with its blood-red crest was far more powerful than the green boa they had just encountered. (to be continued...)
