Chapter 332: Chapter 266: Dark Crevice, Strange Skeleton (3rd Update)_2
Su Yu thought for a bit and said, "I’ll go down and take a look by myself."
Meng Ting said, "It is pitch black down there, how can you go alone without being able to see your hand in front of your face? I’ll go with you. My Primordial Beast, ’Light Sphere’, can provide illumination."
Upon witnessing this, Meng Jun immediately stepped forward, seemingly ready to follow Meng Ting, while Qin Jiagui and Ma Ziye began to show clear signs of interest as well.
Su Yu turned back and said with a bitter smile, "It’s too dangerous for so many people to go down. I’ll go down myself and figure something out for lighting."
Su Yu’s words weren’t without reason. This cave, just within a hundred meters, holds considerable danger. Once one falls, the results would be dire, particularly the daunting task of climbing back up. Su Yu was confident that he could cope with potential dangers, but he could not guarantee the safety of others.
Seeing that the group wanted to argue further, Su Yu said in a deep voice, "That’s it. I’ll go quickly and return quickly to see what’s at the bottom." As he said this, he lit up his left hand with an eye-piercing golden electricity, which he sent into the dark cave first, immediately brightening the interior with the glow of lightning.
Even though the cave was dark, how could it possibly trouble Su Yu?
Setting off bolts of lightning into the dark cave, Su Yu leaped in.
The others watched from the outside, their hearts tightened, for even such a leap required considerable courage.
Su Yu slid down rapidly, then extended his hands to brace against the walls on both sides, immediately slowing down. Under the glow of the lightning, Su Yu used his hands against the rock walls to control his speed. Looking down, he saw the depth of the cave was indeed close to the depth calculated by Dragon Kid, about a hundred meters. Su Yu quickly reached the bottom and leapt off.
Below the cave was a flat, dark space. Su Yu released a large amount of golden lightning while slightly crouching. He used the glow of the lightning to survey the surroundings, noticed a dark crack to his left, and sent a series of lightning bolts into it. With a "fizzling" sound, Su Yu discerned that inside this dark crack, there seemed to be a much larger space.
Feeling a subtle unease, Su Yu entered the dark crevice, causing his black scales to emerge. Even he, when entering this gloomy, dark place, was fully alert, ready to confront any unexpected danger that might occur.
The space inside the dark cave gradually expanded. Su Yu, using the faint light from the lightning, looked around when suddenly a crisp "snap" sound was heard, as if stepping on something. He instinctively looked down in surprise, only to realize that he had just broken a meter-long, white bone.
Because it was too dark, Su Yu had been focusing on the surroundings and hadn’t paid much attention to the ground. Now that he had stepped on and broken a bone, he quickly released some lightning. Using the light from the lightning, Su Yu was surprised to notice that this dark crevice was littered with broken bones.
These bones were extremely large, seemingly belonging to a creature of incredible size. As Su Yu observed them, he was slightly taken aback. Deep inside the dark cave where space was continuously expanding, these scattered bones became larger. Finally, he entered a huge, dark space filled with a massive skeleton. Half of the skeleton was revealed, with the other half seemingly fused with the surrounding mountain rock.
Within this giant skeleton, there were piles of peculiar rocks. When Su Yu first noticed these rocks, he felt a strange sensation.
This huge space had come to an end with no other exits. Su Yu slowly approached. The closer he got, the stranger he felt about these piles of rocks occupying the giant skeleton. When he finally got close, Su Yu was shocked to realize that these rocks seemed to be growing out of the skeleton. Even more astounding was that these rocks were faintly emitting a black luster under the light of the lightning. When Su Yu couldn’t resist touching them, he felt a jolt coursing through his body. He finally recognized the material of these peculiar, dark rocks—it was somewhat familiar, yet he couldn’t quite place it.
"This sensation, these things, what are they... Yes... This feeling... It’s faint... but I understand, this is life... this is the feeling of life energy..."
Touching these blocks of black rock, Su Yu finally thought of why there was a sense of familiarity. He quickly brings out some Time Coins from his waist.
Looking at the black Time Coins and then at the blocks of black rock in front of him, Su Yu was finally startled to find that the materials for both were startlingly similar, with the only difference being that the Time Coins were smoother and more finely crafted.
Could it be that Time Coins are made from these black rocks?
A shocking idea filled his mind and Su Yu felt his heartbeat racing in his chest. He decided not to hesitate anymore, and left immediately. He wanted to go find Ada and Dragon Kid. With their Category 5 Lifeforms’ eye and insights, they could surely recognize what these dark rocks were. Was his guess correct or not?
If his guess was true, what would the massive amounts of Time Coins these black rocks represent? This time...this could be a windfall.
Even the calm Su Yu felt his heart pounding. He quickly left the dark fissure, returning to the cave. With a leap he could touch the walls of the cave with his hands, and with another powerful push from his legs, he began climbing upwards.
Su Yu moves quickly. With his hands and feet positioned on the wall, he climbed the hundred-meter-deep cave with ease and soon reached the top. With another leap, he escaped from the cave, landing steadily on one side.
"How did it go, did you find anything?" The people around him hurriedly asked. They had been waiting, both worried about Su Yu’s safety and curious about what could be down there.
Su Yu didn’t have time to respond to them, instead turning to Ada and saying, "Ada, I have to ask you, these black rocks that seem to be born from within this massive skeleton, they faintly give off darkness, and moreover, I sense a feeble sign of life from them. The material, it feels startlingly similar to Time Coins. I want to ask you, what is this black rock... Is it... the raw material for making Time Coins?"
Su Yu’s words shocked everyone around him. Dragon Kid offered, "Are you referring to ’Life Ore’? How could that be? Are you saying that there’s Life Ore down there?"
Ada widened her eyes and said, "What you described, it sounds a lot like ’Life Ore.’ ’Life Ore’ is indeed the raw material for making Time Coins. Could it be that there’s Life Ore down there?" Even she wore an expression of surprise.
Su Yu nodded, "I suspect it’s ’Life Ore’, but I’m not certain. Ada... No, Dragon Kid, go down with me and see if it actually is Life Ore." He initially intended to ask Ada to go down but realized she was too large and asked Dragon Kid instead.
However, Ada interrupted,"I understand now. If there really is Life Ore down there, then this metal cover engraved with runes is certainly a type of seal... This is troublesome, once this seal is broken, this place will quickly be detected."
Meng Ting quickly asked, "What’s going on? What will be detected?"
Dragon Kid added, "That’s correct. I remember now that there are some instruments in this world that can detect Life Ore. This seal must have been designed to guard against these instruments. Now that the seal has been broken, I’m afraid people or some entities with such instruments will soon notice. We might have others rushing here soon."
