Chapter 290: Chapter 236: Pyramid (10,000 word update, monthly ticket request) - Part 2

Two melee robots appeared, their giant swords glowing under the charge of energy, and they rushed towards the enemy from left and right.

The enemy, just like Su Yu, was a one-man team. He was dressed in a black cloth suit, short hair, quite ordinary, nothing spectacular. At first glance, he seemed like any average guy next door, the type that goes unnoticed in a crowd.

The man in black was not tall, standing only around 1.6 meters, rather thin and weak looking, and even had a slightly shy expression on his face.

Perched on the shoulder of this seemingly mediocre man in black was a small object, akin to an Iron Eagle, obviously his Category 5 Lifeform.

Two melee robots, brandishing their Radiant Greatswords, pounced from both sides. Twenty meters behind, the long-range robot lifted its arms, each one emitting four barrels, ruthlessly firing at the man in black – eight cannons, trailing faint white smoke, instantly appeared in front of the man in black.

The man in black did not evade but stood still, watching the incoming assault, spreading out his arms slightly. "Tsk tsk," metal plates popped out from his arms as his muscles spread apart. The plates combined into two huge metal wings, the Steel Wings.

He spread his arms apart and then brought them together. The steel wings, that popped out from his arms, rose and closed in, quickly wrapping his body tightly.

"Zing," "Boom," dazzling sounds and explosive roars rang out almost simultaneously. The Radiant Greatswords were slashed, and eight cannonballs hit the Steel Wings, causing a big explosion. The terrifying shock wave immediately blasted the man in black, tightly wrapped in his Steel Wings, far away.

The body of the man in black, now hanging in mid-air, suddenly spread open his Steel Wings and started to glide. He circled around in mid-air and landed within ten meters of the long-range robot in an instant.

The long-range robot lifted its arms and, again, launched eight cannons simultaneously towards him.

Drawing his wings in, the man in black suddenly dashed forward, darting among the eight cannonballs. With a sudden wave of his right arm, the Steel Wing on his right side cut out like a steel sword, instantly smashing into the long-range robot. The edge of his Steel Wing was exceptionally sharp. It diagonally cut into the robot from its right shoulder, then pulled back from its left waist.

With a minor explosive sound, the circuits inside the long-range robot’s body ignited in a chain explosion. The upper body slid sideways and landed heavily on the ground.

Behind him, the two melee robots had turned and were rushing at the man in black again.

Watching from the dense fog, Su Yu was slightly shocked. The sharpness of the man in black’s Steel Wings even surpassed that of the Radiant Greatswords wielded by the melee robots, which were made by Atlanteans themselves. They could easily slice through the metal body of a specially designed robot.

The man in black retracted his wings, turned around, and darted out, passing the two melee robots. As he spread his arms, the pair of steel wings once again shot out. "Tsk tsk," they cut through the waists of the two melee robots.

The circuits inside the two melee robots’ bodies exploded immediately, their torsos snapped in half, and they crashed to the ground, losing the ability to move.

After easily disposing of the three robots, the man in black turned around and looked towards the dark fog, his voice filled with grip, "Come out, I know you’re hiding there."

Su Yu had already quietly activated the "Perception Eye" but was unable to capture any information about the man in black. He understood that the man was a "Sixth-order Powerhouse". Although his performance wasn’t as terrifying as the man who had used Frozen Heaven and Earth, effortlessly dealing with the three robots was still quite formidable. What was even more terrifying was that they didn’t know what trump card he was hiding. After all, since he was a Sixth-order Powerhouse, his strength would certainly not be limited to what was just shown.

Even though the other party was a "Sixth-Order Powerhouse", Su Yu still did not show the slightest fear. He slowly emerged from the dense fog and stopped when he reached a distance of thirty meters from the other party.

When facing an unknown and terrifying opponent, maintaining a safe distance was necessary. Su Yu was extremely cautious and was not going to approach the other party carelessly.

Su Yu was observing the other party, and the other party was also observing him.

"A Level Five warrior?" Suddenly, there came a faint scoff from the other side. A trace of disdain was evident in his tone, along with a sigh of relief.

Initially, he had no way of discerning the depth of the unseen foe hiding in the darkness. As he destroyed the three robots, he was on high alert, not because of these robots, but due to the other teams lurking in the darkness. Once Su Yu emerged, he sensed Su Yu’s presence and immediately realized he was not a Sixth Order warrior, which relaxed him a bit.

Although the man in black didn’t possess the "Perception Eye", he was quite capable of sensing whether an opponent was Level Five or Level Six, and it was unlikely he would make a mistake.

Su Yu had noticed the subtle change in the man’s demeanor but seemingly unperturbed, questioned back, "And what about you, Level Five or Six?"

The man in black suddenly cracked a smile, revealing a rather pleasant expression. "I’m also a Level Five warrior, just like you. Don’t be so tense, actually I mean no harm, at least not for now."

"Why so?" Su Yu queried.

"Even though the rules of this round stipulate we need to wipe out everyone else, we’ve still got six days to go. There’s no need for us to start an intense fight now. Even if we can defeat the others, it won’t be much of a benefit to us. Besides, both of us are Level Five warriors, helpless against other teams... I have a suggestion, how about we join forces against the other teams? We can leave the matter of deciding the victor to the seventh day."

The man in black’s suggestion was excellent. Su Yu nodded his agreement, "Good point, you’re absolutely right."

The man in black laughed, "I stumbled upon this pyramid-like building by chance. I think there might be something odd inside. Since we’ve decided to team up, why don’t we explore it together? We might make some discoveries."

Su Yu hummed in agreement, completely trusting this man in black, and walked straight towards him.

"What’s your name?" the man in black asked softly.

"Su Yu." Su Yu responded honestly.

"I’m Meng Rui, haha." the man in black laughed.

"What a coincidence, I have several friends named Meng." Su Yu also showed a slight smile.

Meng Rui, the man in black, proposed: "Let’s go in and have a look." He had completely trusted Su Yu and turned his back to him, not on guard. His face was turned towards the entrance of the pyramid-like building.

Su Yu approached, saying, "I hope we’ll gain something here. We need to increase our strength, otherwise, against a Sixth Order warrior, there is no chance of fighting back."

"Indeed." Meng Rui nodded slightly. While Su Yu walked to stand behind him and was about to speak, Meng Rui flashed his sharp Steel Wings on his right arm, and swung it backwards.

He was fast, incredibly fast. Faced with a Level Five warrior like Su Yu, he had intentionally turned his back to lower Su Yu’s guard, and launched a sudden attack. With his Sixth Order realm, attacking a Level Five who was caught off guard, he believed this would surely be a hit.

However, what Meng Rui thought to be a sure hit, surprisingly swung through thin air. His left arm throbbed with intense pain, followed by a sound of tendons snapping. His left arm was torn apart from his body by a terrifying force.

"Ah–!" Meng Rui roared in agony. Blood spurted out from the severed arm like a fountain. He turned around frantically, his Steel Wings exploding with spiky feather-like shards, which shot out like steel arrows.

But his opponent had already moved, holding Meng Rui’s severed arm, stealthily retreating about ten meters away. There, Su Yu stood holding his severed arm, a faint smile on his face as if he had done something trivial. (To be continued, for the rest of the story, please log in to www.qidian.com.
