Chapter 279: Chapter 228: Black Iron World
Su Yu shook his head as he listened to Ada’s accounts of the esoteric. Staring at the ship-like mechanical castle on the wall, he could sense the advanced technological civilization and extraordinary wisdom of the Atlanteans who lived more than ten thousand years ago, even though it was just a pattern.
Even such a grand civilization, it could be said that a race who possessed wisdom rivaling the gods, couldn’t escape from the fearful disaster and changes. Within a single night, a once unparalleled civilization vanished without a trace, leaving behind only heart-stirring legends in the real world.
Thinking of this, Su Yu couldn’t help but remember the Maya Prophecy and his present-day civilization. It was rumored that the end of the fifth solar epoch was imminent, the end of the world would arrive in two years, and Su Yu felt a sudden chill.
No matter how great humanity becomes, and no matter how many thousands or even tens of thousands of years of wisdom and generations’ worth of legacies and creations were accumulated, everything could be obliterated in a snap of the fingers. Everything humanity has painstakingly created might be nothing more than a joke in the palm of others.
This was the sorrow of all mankind.
"Let’s go," Su Yu’s mood suddenly sank.
Ada hummed in response and did not say anything, seemingly sensing Su Yu’s change in mood.
"Ada, what is the Forest World really about? How does it exist? Why did we fall into this world?" Su Yu asked as they proceeded along the almost indestructible fortress wall.
Ada thought for a while, then said, "Although we are Category 5 Lifeforms, and we naturally obtain a lot of information, we don’t understand everything. For example, rules, the Black Iron World, and even the world in front of us."
Su Yu asked, "Is the real name of the Forest World the ’Black Iron World’?"
Ada nodded.
"Then, does the Black Iron World have a ruler? Who was the radiant woman we saw in the temple?"
Ada crinkled her cute little nose and said, "That might be part of the rules. Ada isn’t too clear on the specifics, and there are things I don’t dare to say, it could lead to trouble."
Su Yu nodded, trekked along the stone wall while chatting and occasionally used a "Radar Wave" to sense his surroundings to prevent attacks from hidden creatures in the darkness. Suddenly, Su Yu stopped and looked up.
On this remarkably strong giant stone wall, not far ahead of Su Yu was an entrance. The gate was tens of meters high, more magnificent than he could imagine.
"If this is truly an ancient relic of the Atlanteans, were they all giants? How could there be such a tall stone wall, such a large door..." Su Yu mumbled to himself, stretched out his right hand, sent the radar wave inside, detected no life, and then walked through the stone gate.
After entering the stone gate, they saw scattered broken walls and rubble everywhere. Among the debris, a severely damaged robot lay horizontal and a large amount of fresh blood pooled around it. In this pool of blood lay a human corpse.
Su Yu was somewhat taken aback, he took a few steps forward and noticed that the destroyed robot was intertwined with the human corpse. It seemed like they had fought fiercely while alive, and it appeared that the human and the robot had both succumbed.
Su Yu’s heart trembled slightly as he couldn’t help but look at the instrument on his left wrist, and then at the corpse on the ground, it somehow looked familiar.
"I understand, he should be one of the thirty teams selected to enter here. It seems that he and this machine were both destroyed," Su Yu deduced.
Ada, who was on Su Yu’s shoulder, responded and jumped off, saying: "Su Yu, we’ve made a fortune this time. Without any effort, we got a Mag-Eu Stone. It seems we’re pretty lucky." She jumped onto the ruins of the destroyed robot and started looking for the Mag-Eu Stone.
Su Yu was turning over the human corpse. The people selected to enter here, aside from Su Yu who accidentally intruded, were mostly all Sixth-order Powerhouses and those at Fifth-order Peak. Even the Fifth-order Advanced, like Zheng Jun, had already perished outside the temple and couldn’t even enter the doorway of the temple.
As Su Yu examined the corpse, he soon noticed a bracelet on the person’s left wrist and a ring on their right hand. Obviously, these were two secret treasures, quite a lovely gain.
A smile spread across Su Yu’s face as he prepared to take the two treasures. At that moment, his ears picked up the distant sound of "rustling" from behind.
With a shudder in his heart, Su Yu instinctively darted sideways.
A shell almost grazed his body as it flew by, landing several feet away, and then exploded with a loud "bang".
Caught off guard while searching for the Mag-Eu stone, Ada gave a start, raising his head to see a grand, humanoid shadow. With its hands gripping the radiant greatsword, its feet stamped on the ground, producing an intense vibration. Ascending swiftly, the greatsword slashed down towards Su Yu who had just taken a leap out.
Su Yu, having just slanted away in a blink, performed a somersault, conveniently drew out his two-meter-long greatsword with gasification mysterious power infused inside. The greatsword gradually lit up and buzzed.
This high-tech weapon booted up, its blade generating inconceivable cutting power, able to slice platinum and jade, practically indestructible.
With a battle cry, Su Yu gripped the greatsword, his upper body instantly entering the realm of "Lizard Beast Transformation", his strength doubling up. Holding the greatsword with both hands, he swiped towards the advancing robot.
A loud clash erupted with a sharp screech. Su Yu’s now radiant annihilator greatsword struck the falling robot’s airborne greatsword. Upon impact, both were jolted as though electrified. The robot was thrown askew, while Su Yu felt pain in his arms, stumbling back.
Just as he fell back, a shell silently shot towards him.
Apart from the airborne robot holding the radiant greatsword, twenty meters away stood another robot. This one did not hold a greatsword yet had terrifying cannons on each arm.
There were unexpectedly two robots this time around.
Struggling to handle even a single robot, Su Yu was now dealing with two.
Stumbling back, Su Yu eyed the incoming shell, gritting his teeth as he once again swung the radiant greatsword.
With a swish, the radiant greatsword cut the shell in half. It subsequently detonated with blinding white light, causing a massive explosion.
Despite Su Yu quickly summoning his "armored shield", he could not withstand the impact and was sent sprawling, his black scales disintegrating. The potent shockwave blew him far back.
He groaned, struggling with a push from his palm just as two more incoming shells landed.
The ground erupted, creating two large pits in succession. Walls and soil crumbled as the robot holding the radiant greatsword stepped back, guarding its fellow. The fellow lifted up both arms, popping out a series of cannons.
Soon, each arm produced four cannons apiece. The robot’s crystal eyes flickered red standing still, Su Yu locked in its sights, shells shooting out insanely from its eight cannons.
Su Yu rolled over the ground to evade the relentless shell impacts, shaking the earth. The ground even seemed to tremble from the intensity of the noise, a sight to behold.
Despite his swift evasive attempts, he was eventually hit by an explosion, his body soon drenched in blood. He didn’t fear close combat with the robots, as he had plenty of experience, but was helpless against long-range attacks.
Each attempt to get close to a robot would typically end with a shell exploding and sending him bouncing far back. After he landed, he was wounded all over. Although the gasification mysterious powers in his body worked frenziedly to heal him, he might end up shattered if this continued.
As Su Yu rolled around, he tried to take advantage of a crumbled wall to shield himself against the blasts. But these ruined walls were swiftly destroyed by the relentless shelling.
The robot stayed in place, arms raised, firing volleys from its eight cannons almost without interval, an unbeatable force.
Su Yu dodged, roaring with exerted colossal power from his arms, throwing the radiant greatsword.
With a whoosh, the radiant greatsword cut through the wind, drawing a brilliant streak across the sky.
The other robot moved, blocking the long-range robot, swinging the greatsword in its hands.
A deafening clang was heard as the radiant greatsword thrown by Su Yu was intercepted by the close-range robot’s greatsword, sparking a blinding clash and flaring sparks.
At this moment, Su Yu, covered in blood, erupted in a roar. Potent gold-colored lightning surged from his body, resulting in relentless crackles. Shards of rock blasted by the lightning rolled away.
"Discharge," Su Yu roared, extending his right hand. The three shells shot by the range-attacking robot, not yet within ten meters of him, were hit by lightning released by Su Yu. Consequently, they exploded mid-air. (To be continued. For the rest of the story, please log onto www.qidian.com for more Chapters. Support the author, support legal reading!)
