Chapter 278: Chapter 227: Noah’s Ark (Request for monthly passes) _2
The bisected robot, its crystal eyes still twinkling red. Its body twitched slightly, seemingly trying to get up, but Su Yu didn’t give it the chance. He held his giant sword with both hands and swung it down horizontally once more.
There was a loud "thud", completely smashing the robot’s head, and a large number of parts exploded out.
Only then did Su Yu stab his giant sword into the ground, catching his breath as he propped up his trembling body, looking at the shattered robot on the ground that still emitted faint sounds.
The Mag-Eu Stone he obtained allowed his Thunderball to evolve into a Thunder Beast, which boosted his powers across the board. This time, he had to face another equally formidable robot. Though it was still immensely challenging, he didn’t rely on luck, but on his actual strength to defeat the robot, handling it with much more ease than his first encounter with a robot.
Ada, on his shoulder, hopped down, somewhat ecstatically rummaging through the wrecked robot, commenting, "Su Yu, you put on quite a performance. At first, you were overwhelmingly overpowered but now you’ve managed to cope. You really live up to being the Master Companion I chose."
Ada was particularly pleased with Su Yu’s performance.
After taking a breath, Su Yu watched his injuries slowly heal. He shook his head and said, "It’s not entirely like that. Most of the enemies I’ve faced till now are of this close combat type. I lack experience in handling enemies that attack from afar. So, it isn’t entirely because I’ve grown stronger, but because I’m more experienced with these close combat type robots, Ada. Don’t overestimate me."
Upon hearing Su Yu’s explanation, Ada paused for a moment before admitting, "You have a point. But that doesn’t matter; we’ve still got hope. Look, another Mag-Eu Stone."
Finally, Ada pulled out another tiny glass-like hexagonal crystal from the destroyed robot. It was the pinnacle of Atlantean technology, the mythical energy crystal that could move gods to awe and envy - the Mag-Eu Stone.
"In legend, this Mag-Eu Stone was created by the Atlanteans using the energy of sunlight. The sun has always been the source of all life. A Mag-Eu Stone made with sunlight can be considered the purest energy source in the world." As he spoke, Ada handed the Mag-Eu Stone to Su Yu, instructing, "Merge it into the necklace again and see what effect it has now."
Su Yu nodded, merging the second Mag-Eu Stone into the pendant of the Thunder Beast Necklace. Immediately, an even stronger energy wave surged from the necklace. Su Yu let out a low growl, and a burst of "crackling" lightning radiated from his body, striking the surrounding walls and leaving clear scorch marks.
Su Yu then put his hands together and slowly pulled them apart. Amidst the "whizzing" sound, a golden lightning bolt emitted in an arc between his hands. The bolt kept increasing in thickness and width, the "whizzing" sound echoing without end.
Suddenly, Su Yu growled, his left hand swung abruptly, and the arced lightning bolt between his hands flew out like an electric snake.
There was a loud "pop", the lightning bolt hit a crack in the stone wall ahead, causing a massive amount of stone debris to splash out.
"Too bad, it seems like there’s still a considerable gap to evolve the Thunder Beast into its complete form." Ada shook his head.
Su Yu grunted. He had also felt that after absorbing the second Mag-Eu Stone, the effect was much less pronounced than when he absorbed the first one. Of course, his electric and lightning power had increased significantly. He noticed that his current "Primordial Beast", the Thunder Beast, was still in an incomplete state, indicating it could still evolve into a more powerful, complete form.
However, judging from his current absorption of the second Mag-Eu Stone, it seemed that evolution into a more formidable entity couldn’t simply be achieved by absorbing one or two more of such stones.
"Nevertheless, the lightning power within me has been enhanced. ’Wrath of Thunder’ can unleash even stronger power now. The Mag-Eu Stone is truly incredible. If I could merge with a large quantity of such stones, my lightning power could continue to escalate... It’s beyond imagination..."
Su Yu fanned his right hand, sensing the electricity power in his palm. Originally, the Thunder Beast’s electric shock could reach up to 5,000 volts. After absorbing the second Mag-Eu Stone, his most powerful electric shock had increased to at least 7,000 volts. Combined with the power generated by his Golden Blood, which transformed into Golden Thunder and Lightning, the power of his electric shock doubled. That meant when he discharged the golden lightning, the voltage had increased to a terrifying level of approximately 15,000 volts.
With a shocking voltage as high as 15,000 volts and continuous discharge, the destructive power generated was unimaginable. With Su Yu’s current ability, combined with such lightning power, he would dare to challenge even a real Sixth-order Powerhouse.
After suppressing his power, Su Yu held the Giant Light Saber that was taller than himself, noticing that its glow was gradually receding. It seemed as if the energy stored inside the saber was slowly getting depleted. Soon, all the light disappeared, turning it into a regular metal sword.
Su Yu was somewhat surprised. He played with the metal sword while resting and quickly discovered that when a special power was injected into the sword, it transformed into a light saber. It was virtually indestructible, even the Golden Rune Armor couldn’t resist. If not for his Golden Claw, Su Yu would have fallen to this light saber earlier.
Once the injected special power was withdrawn, the metal sword would slowly transform back into a regular metal weapon. Obviously, the robot had used the energy from the Mag-Eu Stone to activate the weapon.
He lightly flicked the sword with his finger, triggering a slight humming echo from within the saber. Su Yu took out some dry food and chewed on two bites. He then glanced at the device on his left wrist, where his own light point was still flashing, along with twenty-eight other points, representing the twenty-eight teams still surviving in this world.
There was a perpetual darkness in this world, with no distinction between day and night. Su Yu computed the time, realizing that he had already spent nearly half a day in this world. After his wounds had healed significantly, Su Yu patted off the dust from his animal hide clothing, picked up the two-meter-long metal sword, took a glance at the dashboard on his left wrist, and again examined the images carved onto the gigantic, towering stone wall beside him.
Upon closer inspection, Su Yu finally figured out that the image depicted a massive Mechanical Castle. The castle appeared to be a movable mechanical monster, seemingly floating above the water surface. Judging by the artwork, this Mechanical Castle was far from being created by the civilization of their current world.
Ada, squatting on Su Yu’s shoulder, clicked its tongue twice, saying: "The picture depicts what is known in the legend as Noah’s Ark."
Su Yu was taken aback, commenting: "Noah’s Ark? That doesn’t sound right. How does this relate to the civilization of Atlantis? Didn’t you say this should be a relic of the Atlantean civilization?"
Ada nodded and said: "According to the legend, Atlantis sank into the ocean and disappeared overnight. But in reality, the Atlanteans had noticed something was wrong and realized they couldn’t escape the coming disaster. Consequently, they pooled all their country’s resources to build this gigantic mechanical ship known as Noah’s Ark, hoping to preserve the best of Atlantean civilization... However, I’m not sure about the exact outcome during the catastrophe."
Ada paused for a while before continuing: "The core energy source of Noah’s Ark is the Mag-Eu Stone, and it’s the largest one from the western nation of the Atlantean civilization at the time. The energy inside was so powerful it was considered divine and was named the ’Sun Stone,’ indicating that its energy could rival the sun’s power. Therefore, Noah’s Ark was also known as the Divine Boat... However, something seemed to have happened later on... There are legends claiming that the Atlanteans’ technology was too advanced, and this ship they created was too perfect, resulting in the ship gaining a consciousness of its own, becoming something even beyond divine. Anyway, the truth has long been buried in the torrents of history."
