Upon hearing this, the man’s facial expression immediately relaxed.

This man was the leader of the ten-man team, and on his shoulder, sat a tiny, thick-black creature, its body harboring a wolf’s head with the torso of a snake. Its eyes, radiating a cold, light-green glow, were fixed upon Dragon Kid perched on Meng Ting’s shoulder. Its gaze was hostile, even exhibiting a hint of greed.

Dragon Kid, staring back, shared a similar hostility, as if it had encountered a sworn enemy.

This intriguing fifth class life form was hostile towards its own gender, it can only coexist peacefully when the other was the opposite sex. This was why Dragon Kid was initially hostile towards Ada, but changed its attitude once it realized that Ada was a female.

The wolf-headed snake-bodied creature, obviously a male, sparked visual sparks of conflict with Dragon Kid the instant they met.

This fifth class life form rested on the shoulder of a robust thirty-year-old man, who was also the leader of the ten-man team. When he first noticed Meng Ting and Su Yu each with their "fifth class life forms," he was slightly surprised. Seeing the two teams seemed to be together, he was instantly on high alert. The alert was only lifted when a skinny monkey-like man next to him quietly informed him, the nine-person team had only one whom he found inscrutable and was seemingly a Level Five. The rest were all Fourth Order. He was then able to calm down.

Generally, the teams that come to this space would not contain a presence exceeding Level Five. Since this Fourth Order skinny monkey-like man could not see through the opponent, the individual must be a Level Five powerhouse, and it was impossible to be above Level Five.

If it were a powerhouse above Level Five, unlikely as it may be to appear in this space and secondly, he should have been able to sense the terrifying presence. Now, he only felt the opponent’s mana power as similar to his own.

And this man himself was naturally a Level Five powerhouse.

His team consisted of two Level Five and eight Fourth Order, whereas the opponent’s two teams had only one Level Five and eight Fourth Order. Comparing the strength of both sides, his team had one more Level Five powerhouse. This gap was insurmountable.

As the standoff persisted, followed by tense silence of a few seconds, Su Yu sensed Ada becoming colder and could no longer delay. He couldn’t help but ask Dragon Kid, "Dragon Kid, where is the Fire Elemental Crystal Essence?" Looking at the giant crystal pile in front of him, he didn’t see any Fire Elemental Crystal Essence.

Dragon Kid extended its little paw, scratching its head, and replied, "The energy stones beneath your feet are Fire Elements. Over time, the energy stones will occasionally give birth to Fire Elemental Crystal Essence. I can sense that there are crystal essences underneath. Hmm... She didn’t want to instigate any conflicts unnecessarily, thus she said in a clear voice, "Gentlemen, we only want to take some Fire Elemental Crystal Essence and a few Energy Stones. There are so many Energy Stones here. If you all are here for the Energy Stones, none of us can possibly take them all away. What harm would it do to share some with us?"

This massive crystal pile was composed entirely of energy stones, which were indeed way beyond their imagination. Meng Ting and her companions couldn’t carry that much at once, so she didn’t believe there was a necessity for a conflict.

"Humph, we did come here for the Energy Stones. However, while there might be a lot to you, we don’t find it excessive..."

The leader of the opposing group, with the wolf-headed snake-like creature nestled on his shoulder, voiced in a rather husky tone. He had no idea what a Fire Elemental Crystal Essence was, but seeing how the opponents desired it, it must be a treasure. Thus, he pondered claiming it for himself while secretly asking the wolf-headed snake-like creature if it knew what the crystal essence was.

"The Crystal Essence is a crystallized form of the Energy Stone that is only formed after a long stretch of time. It is remarkably precious. For us, who are of a fifth-tier race, if we are heavily injured, we can use this Crystal Essence to restore our vitality. Also, if it is integrated into a weapon, it would generate tremendous power, and would therefore be considered as an invaluable treasure."

The wolf-headed serpent-beast’s answer reaffirmed the belief in the thirty-year-old man. He would not allow the Crystal Essence to fall into the hands of the people before him.

He had estimated the strength of his adversaries. He could withstand the only Level Five power on the opposing team, while each of the eight Fourth Order could block another Fourth order. His own additional fifth rank could easily execute the enemies one by one. Presumably, if a conflict broke out, he and his men would be able to achieve a complete victory. He calculated quietly whilst whispering some words to the other person beside him.

This individual was the other Level Five practitioner in their team.

Meng Ting, hearing their responses, knew that they were unwilling to back down and were even intending to escalate the situation into a conflict.

In such a world, force is everything. Killing people indiscriminately for a little resource was commonplace, especially in situations where there was a clear power disparity.

If Meng Ting and Su Yu’s team also had two Level Five practitioners, the opponents might agree to back down, leaving them with some energy stones. But because they are one Level Five individual short, the opponents were confident about achieving a complete victory. Hence, they were unwilling to even share a single energy stone with Meng Ting, much less a precious Crystal Essence.

"There’s still time for you to step back," stated the leader of the group, his voice low and raspy, leaving no room for negotiation.

Meng Ting responded, furrowing her brows, "Aren’t you guys being too unreasonable? We all arrived here at the same time, without one before another. We just want to receive a share of the Energy Stones and one Crystal Essence. We will leave the rest to you. Please consider it."

"Ha ha -" began the thirty-year-old man, who had the wolf-headed serpent beast on his shoulder. Suddenly, with a cold sneer, he added, "What a joke. Why should we think it over?" He knew that the opponents must have realized that they had an additional Level Five on their side. Unless the opponents were fools, they would know to choose between the Energy Stones and their lives. So, there was no doubt that the opponents would back down and dare not fight with them. This explained why the thirty-year-old man was so unafraid.

However, to his astonishment, before he could finish speaking, he noticed the young man that had emerged earlier. His left hand exhibited black scales, and clenched into a fist, it slammed directly onto the Crystal Pile on the ground while totally ignoring his words.

Su Yu’s display was immediately viewed as a severe provocation by them. The thirty-year-old man, his pride battered, issued a command with a snort: "Attack!"

The three Fourth Order Black Iron Warriors who had rushed out earlier threw themselves with full strength towards Su Yu.

Su Yu’s left hand showed black scales, and his heavy punch landed on the ground. Though it seemed as if he was exerting his full strength, he merely managed to crack open a few tiny fissures on the ground, appearing quite feeble in his assault.

Fang Jiong grumbled in surprise, watching from behind, "Could these energy stones be that hard?"

The three Fourth order Black Iron warriors that rushed at Su Yu had seen Su Yu’s punch. Seeing all he had managed was a few small cracks, they all couldn’t help leaking a look of disdain. They had once followed a team to this world to mine other energy stones, and knew that these stones were only as hard as ordinary rocks. Any punch from them could easily form a series of deep fissures in the stones. Seeing that Su Yu only managed a few minor cracks, naturally, they held him in contempt.

The three Black Iron warriors assaulting Su Yu were two men and a woman, ranging from as young as eighteen or nineteen to about twenty-four or twenty-five. At this point, they were attacking arrogantly. One arm of a man morphed into a beastly claw, swiping towards Su Yu’s head. Another had two hands transformed into two eerie rock spheres the size of a basketball, slamming towards Su Yu. The female had her palm seeping out numerous small pores, from which black spiderlike threads spurt out as she stretched her hand.

All three of them were quick to attack, hoping to kill Su Yu in one hit in order to gain merit in the eyes of the leader. With three Level Four warriors teaming up, they indeed possessed the power to kill another fourth-ranked warrior with a single hit.

Su Yu’s punch landed on the Energy Stone, and a tiny crack appears almost instantaneously, attracting the joint attack from the three Level Four warriors.

Behind him, Fang Jiong roared in fury. He hastily stuffs the unconscious, cold Ada into his large jacket, retrieves a pot with one hand and the Cow Splitting Knife with the other, and rushed forward to help. However, it was too late.

Su Yu was kneeling on the ground, under the attack of the three same-ranked warriors. He seemed neither surprised nor alarmed, but instead shot up from the ground with his legs, tightened his waist and, within that instant, a fraction of a second before the other three attacked, launched an attack first.
