Chapter 1197 - 893: Divinity and Godhood_2

Chapter 1197: Chapter 893: Divinity and Godhood_2

"The bit of divinity I inherited... is rebirth... No matter how many times I die, as long as there’s an external force to call upon me, I can be reborn again and again. I... am Immortal. Though the divinity is faint, I do indeed possess such an ability." When the Crowned Giant said this, a hint of pride subtly showed on its face.

Divinity, without divinity a god is but a false god, divinity, is the very essence of a true god.

"Rebirth? Ah, that’s quite an impressive attribute..." Ada nodded slightly, while Su Yu had an epiphany, finally understanding why the Crowned Giant, though it seemed lifeless multiple times and should have been dead, always revived upon encountering an attack or some other influence. By his count, this was already the third time he had seen it happen.

"Divinity..." Su Yu murmured to himself. This was his first encounter with the concept. As for the Divine Being Qualification, he had heard it mentioned a few times and only vaguely knew it seemed to be a prerequisite for becoming a true deity. But as to what it specifically entailed, to be honest, he really had no idea. But divinity was entirely new to him. So to become a true god, one first needed to possess divinity. The Crowned Giant’s slight divinity allowed it to be reborn endlessly. Wasn’t it truly undying? The thought was terrifying.

However, when Su Yu’s eyes fell upon the body that had been nailed to the Cross, his thoughts shifted again. If what Ada said was true, and this body had once been a true deity, now it had lost its Godhood and divinity, meeting such a dire fate without either. Even true gods ended up thus, let alone the Crowned Giant’s speck of divinity. It seemed that so-called "rebirth" was only viable within a certain scope.

Just like the law that water turns to ice at zero degrees, but this law is not always applicable in all situations. In this world, there are no absolutes, everything is relative.

Ada leapt and quickly landed in front of the Golden Giant Dragon’s carcass, which stretched for ten thousand meters and had been sliced into several sections. Landing on the dragon’s head, massive as a hill, Ada sighed deeply: "Thousand-year Immortal, enduring through the ages, in the blink of an eye, turned to ashes and smoke, eternal Immortality, just like a mirage, in the end all but a dream, everything turns to emptiness, countless years of struggle, facing endless tribulations, only to reach such an end. Is it a lack of effort, or the absence of opportunity? Or is it because going against the heavens, seeking to forever exist, is inherently a fantasy..."

"In the end... is it all just an illusion?" Ada whispered softly. Looking at the corpses of the giant dragons, watching how even a once true god had lost its Godhood and divinity, lying there like a mortal’s body, in that moment, she was overwhelmed with indescribable sentimentality.

The Crowned Giant, Tezcatlipoca, and Su Yu stood in silence, no one providing a definite answer. The Crowned Giant, seated to the side, stood up and began to swing its Giant Arm, shattering the earth into terrifying pits, then cradling the body into the pit and dragging the corpses of the dragons to be buried with it.

Tezcatlipoca, Su Yu, and Ada silently watched as the Crowned Giant buried the bodies. After a while, once all the bodies were interred, the Giant’s barely audible voice rose again.

"Follow me, I’ll take you to another place..."

With that voice, the Crowned Giant took long strides, giving the buried corpses one more deep look before turning and heading towards the distance.

Tezcatlipoca, Su Yu, and Ada followed behind. The Crowned Giant walked faster and faster, its majestic form, standing three thousand meters tall, traversing through this seemingly dim and desolate world, exuding an indescribable loneliness.

The Crowned Giant walked increasingly quickly and ultimately stopped in front of a vast ocean.

Looking at the sea before it, the Crowned Giant’s voice softly resounded, "Who would’ve thought... it would become a sea..." It stepped into the ocean while saying this, bent down its body and opened its mouth to start sucking in the sea.

Instantly, the tranquil sea roared to life, with vast amounts of water rolling and surging upwards, drawn into its maw.

Su Yu’s eyes widened as he watched the gaping void in its belly from behind, seeing how quickly it was filled with a vast amount of seawater. However, the water didn’t seep out through the broken opening in its back.

As it continued to swallow the seawater, the ocean’s surface noticeably began to lower. Inside the Crown Giant, the accumulating water slowly formed a terrifying dark vortex. In the heart of this vortex, more and more water was drawn in an unending flow, making the dark vortex ever more tangible.

Su Yu watched as the sea was being drained by the Crown Giant at a visibly rapid rate, its speed of descent increasing. Amidst the roaring thunder of the waters, the sea level kept falling until, at last, Su Yu, Ada, and Tezcatlipoca could see the magnificent buildings slowly emerging from the water.

These buildings, with a hint of blackness, might have been darkened by being submerged in the ocean year in and year out. The surfaces of the buildings were overgrown with a plethora of aquatic vegetation, nearly masking their original appearance.

The Crown Giant ceaselessly continued to draw water, and eventually, the sea within this vast ocean was completely absorbed by it. Then, the Crown Giant lifted its head. Now at the ocean’s deepest floor, they found themselves amidst a colossal architecture that far exceeded imagination.

The buildings covered an extensive area, and from a distance, their span was no less than a thousand kilometers. They contained numerous super-giant structures, indicative of past prosperity and grandeur. But now, the site was eerily quiet, covered everywhere with thick layers of silt and marine vegetation. Many areas were buried under sediment, displaying a dilapidated atmosphere reminiscent of ancient ruins.

"You... follow me..." The Crown Giant’s voice was faint and intermittent. It then strode into the majestic ruins and with a push of its hands, a dark giant gate that stood thousands of meters tall was forcibly opened amid a "creak-creak" noise.

Despite being submerged in the sea for countless years, the two dark giant gates showed no signs of decay. The vegetation that once clung to them was torn apart as the gates creaked slowly open, revealing a faint, murky glow with a hint of mystery.

The Crown Giant pushed the gates open, took a step, and entered. Tezcatlipoca floated silently after it. Su Yu and Ada exchanged a glance, and with a nod and a smile from Ada, Su Yu gave a soft hum and darted in as well.

With Ada by his side, he felt an indescribable sense of security. Any matter or decision seemed infused with confidence, for in his eyes, Ada was his true mentor, the one to guide his way.

If there was anyone in this world that Su Yu could fully trust, it would be Ada.

Accompanied by Ada, Su Yu followed the Crown Giant into the unimaginably grand dark giant gate. What met his eyes was a corridor so vast it defied description.

The corridor’s height and width stretched on for thousands of kilometers, and its depth was beyond visual measurement. Su Yu could hardly imagine what force could have been used to construct such a structure. Or perhaps, were all the builders like the Crown Giant, beings of immense size?

The Crown Giant slowed its pace, strolling along the vast corridor as if traversing an expansive space.

With each step the Crown Giant took, it covered a distance of a thousand kilometers. Even though its pace was slowed, it was still indescribably fast. Soon, they reached the end of the extremely long corridor. The Crown Giant stopped, and Tezcatlipoca and Su Yu rose slowly, quickly revealing the boundless space beyond the corridor.

Witnessing everything before him, Su Yu suddenly gasped, feeling a chill run down his spine as a bone-piercing coldness surged forth.
