Chapter 1173: Chapter 877: Five Buddhas
The diameter of the deep pit above was about ten thousand meters, but as they descended deeper, the opening became even more vast. After descending who knows how many tens of thousands of meters, Su Yu and company gradually realized they had entered a boundless Dark World. Below, there were billowing flames of Darkness, burning like the infernal fires of hell.
"An Xue, where are we?" Su Yu couldn’t help but stop and ask. An Xue shook her head and replied, "The map only indicated this place, beyond that, I know nothing." As she said this, worry tinged her face.
Just having come all this way, especially the terror within this deep pit, if her mother, the Loulan Totem, had truly ventured here alone, it would be a certain death. Unless she never entered, but if she hadn’t come here, how could she be missing for over a month without any news?
An Xue dared not think further, as her foreboding sense of unease grew stronger.
Of course, Su Yu thought of this too. He cast a sympathetic glance her way, when suddenly, the voice of Tezcatlipoca echoed in his mind: "Be careful—"
Su Yu had already reacted in an instant, dragging An Xue along as he flew a thousand meters to the side. Below them, the roaring black flames formed into a massive Black Flame dragon. Had they been a moment slower, they would have been engulfed by those black flames.
Looking at the raging black flames, Su Yu thought of Ada, thought of her Black Flame Hell, wondering where she was now. Would she make it to this "Ancient Life Continent" event?
As these thoughts flashed through Su Yu’s mind, the black flames that formed the massive dragon seemed to have a will of its own, sweeping through space with a howling gale that pursued Su Yu and An Xue relentlessly.
"Let’s go." Not wanting to be entangled in battle, Su Yu pulled An Xue and, with a low shout, they shot toward the distance. Almost at the same time, more massive Black Flame dragons rose from below, swirling in the sky, madly lunging at Su Yu, their aura as formidable as that of any Immortal being.
Dragging An Xue, Su Yu’s back surged with a Giant Will, propelling their bodies as they darted through the void, dodging dragon after dragon of black flames. Suddenly, far above, a piercing roar rang out. Su Yu’s heart froze as he turned to look, only to see a huge, semi-transparent ice sculpture being cornered by several Black Flame dragons, with nowhere to escape. Before moments passed, these dragons engulfed the ice sculpture into the abyss of flames below. With a series of "pop pop pop" sounds, the Ice Elder unleashed all its power, freezing the sea of fire again and again, only for it to shatter and be suppressed by the ferocious flames. In a terrifying moment, there was no time left to tear through space and escape. Ultimately, the endless black flames devoured the ice sculpture, dragging it into the bottomless abyss, never to be heard from again.
As Su Yu dodged the dragons, an indescribable feeling welled up in his heart. Could the beings spoken of in legends, the Immortal beings that never decay—the first Ice Elder of the Ice People Clan—have fallen?
There was no time for Su Yu to contemplate further as the rising flames formed more and more dragons, frantically striking continuously in a chaotic dance. Soon, the entire space was so crowded with Black Flame dragons that Su Yu could no longer dodge, forced to watch helplessly as he and An Xue were engulfed by the dragons.
"Damnit!" Su Yu roared, as the immense Giant Will within him erupted. Instantly, a colossal six-dragons and six-wings phantom emerged, enveloping and protecting the bodies of Su Yu and An Xue.
Countless Black Flame dragons clung to the phantom giant with six dragons and six wings, and just like the Ice Elder, they were dragged into the terrifying force of the sea of fire. Shielded by the phantom, Su Yu and An Xue were immediately pulled into the heart of the raging inferno.
The terrifying flames scorched from all directions; the six dragons and six wings’ phantom sizzled under the intense heat. Within the vast sea of fire, amid the terrifying forces pulling from all sides, Su Yu and An Xue were inescapably suppressed and dragged deeper into the fiery abyss.
"What kind of flames are these..." Su Yu thought in shock, forcing himself to transform into his golden form, exerting all the Giant Will power within him. With a flutter of his six wings, he tried to break free and escape. Suddenly, An Xue exclaimed, "What’s that?"
Startled, Su Yu turned to look and, in that instant, he saw within the billowing flames at the bottom, a massive bone lying horizontally.
As his realm had improved, Su Yu had encountered more and more monstrous creatures, so much so that there was hardly anything that could surprise him anymore.
The "Mother God of Hundred Ghosts," Pear Kadi Mother, soaring to five hundred meters, was a common sight on Ancient Life Continent where kilometer-sized behemoths roamed at will. Even within the "Divine Pit World," it was not unusual to spot skeletal remains stretching tens of kilometers in length. However, even the widely traveled Su Yu couldn’t help being startled when he suddenly came across these sprawling white bones at the bottom of a blazing sea of flames.
Judging by its shape, the bones were likely that of a leg. Lying silently at the bottom of this vast, boundless sea of flames, the bone appeared to stretch well over tens of thousands of meters at a single glance.
A white leg bone exceeding tens of thousands of meters in length? The boundless energy of the Black Flame Dragon was continuously being emitted from this quietly resting leg bone. The energy was violent and fierce, seemingly determined to devour and annihilate any lifeform that dared approach "it."
Back then, in the "Divine Pit World," encountering bones reaching tens of kilometers in length had left Su Yu speculating about the level of existence it represented in life. But now, within the "Ancient Life Continent," after descending countless meters into this pit, he stumbled upon this leg bone of unimaginable scale. The sight sent shock waves through not only Su Yu and An Xue, but even the Tezcatlipoca in his mind was deeply astounded.
To what existence did this leg bone belong when it was alive?
Su Yu was confounded. The surrounding Black Flames were becoming increasingly terrifying, tugging fiercely, attempting to tear apart the six dragons and six wings of phantom power. Moreover, within the endless black flames, a vague and inexplicable will power seethed angrily. This will was volatile and mad, filled with an infinite desire to slaughter.
"Not good, we must leave here quickly—" Su Yu sensed something was terribly wrong. The pulling force emerging from the Black Flames was becoming more dreadful by the second, and a frenzied consciousness within was starting to suppress the Giant Will inside him.
Just as this raging consciousness was beginning to take shape, the Giant Will inside Su Yu boiled over. Then, a Phantom Dragon Arm extended, and from its hand emerged the mysterious half-sheet of paper that belonged to Su Yu.
As the half-sheet of paper appeared, suddenly, the terrifying Black Flames all around began to emit wails and fearful, faint roars. Then, the black dragons dissipated, and the boundless energy rapidly retracted back into the giant white bone that lay horizontally.
Su Yu watched, dumbfounded, as the sea of Black Flame parted around the half-sheet of paper as if it held an infinite majesty and power, even more potent than a sacred edict, forcing back the seemingly inexhaustible and destructive Black Flame.
"Can it be... such a thing..." Su Yu inhaled sharply, looking at the half-sheet of paper held in the giant phantom’s hand. Watching as the six-dragon six-winged creature, holding the half-sheet, broke through the black flames and slowly descended upon the enormous white leg bone.
The white leg bone lay motionless in the sea of flames, standing as if it had been there since the dawn of time, impervious to decay.
Su Yu could clearly feel an instinctively violent consciousness hidden within the white leg bone. This consciousness might have once been great, but now only a primal instinct remained—one set on the self-defensive instinct to destroy everything.
The will of the six dragons and six wings gazed upon the tens-of-thousands-of-meters-long white giant bone. Su Yu could sense that the six-dragon six-winged phantom revealed a hint of sadness.
At that moment, sounds and fearsome breaths reverberated through the void above. Looking up, Su Yu saw five beings adorned with radiant halos descending ten thousand meters above him.
"Eh? That is—" abruptly, one of the radiant figures exclaimed.
Then another voice called out, somewhat excitedly, "Heaven... this is..." Immediately, the five figures descended another five thousand meters, their terrifying auras released, enveloping and locking onto the immense white leg bone.
Su Yu could now see the five luminous figures clearly, all bald, draped in extravagantly grand monk robes. A tiny spinning golden object floated in the right hand of each. These objects, glistening brightly against the backdrop of the halo behind each figure, conveyed incomparable dignity.
In his mind, Tezcatlipoca grunted, "The Western Heavenly Race... the Five Buddhas..."
Su Yu’s heart tightened slightly. He remembered Tezcatlipoca mentioning that the "Western Heavenly Race" was one of the strongest races in the world, their "Bodhisattvas" akin to Totems, and the Buddhas equivalent to the Immortals of all races.
The sudden apparition of these five Buddhas signified that these were powerful beings of the Western Heavenly Race with Immortal strength. (To be continued, if you wish to know what happens next, please visit www.qidian.com. More Chapters are available, support the author, support genuine reading!)
