At that moment, everyone felt an itchy sensation in their throat, kind of anti-appetizing. Su Yun, Lei Rui, Yuan Niping, and a few others turned their faces away immediately, not daring to look more.

Just as they noticed these five people, the other party also spotted them nearly at the same time. Instantly, the four of them underneath the pile of rocks, who had been feeding themselves pieces of meat, stood upright.

Only the woman sitting on the top of the pile of rocks was still slowly placing pieces of meat into her mouth rather gracefully until she had eaten the last piece.

Below the pile stood four men, all in tattered clothes and covered in blood, showing they had survived brutal fights. Among them, one man had his right arm cut off above the elbow, and the right sleeve was torn off. The others could easily see his remaining right arm, hanging and swaying slightly in the wind.

After a moment of still silence, the group of one woman and four men on the other side took action. A thin man, about 1.7 meters tall, wearing black-framed glasses, took a step forward, pushed his glasses, and said a word:"Food?"

Very quickly, their eyes fell upon the bags carried by Qin Jiagui, Zhao Shichang, and others, and without exception, they each took a step forward, undisguised greed in their eyes.

In such a lethal forest, what else could be so precious to carry, if not food?

Seeing the monster corpses littering the ground, there was no doubt they were killed by these five people. The four glanced at each other; finally, the man with half of his right arm missing came over, pulled open the bag, looked in, and let out a cheer. He hastily took out a loaf of bread and sank his teeth into it before tearing open the wrapping and biting in.

"Er..." He choked after only two bites, his face turning red, and started coughing incessantly.

"Haha—"A husky man laughed. The group relaxed their caution and approached, seeing the bag the one-armed man had opened was indeed filled with bread, sausage, chocolate, and bottles of fresh water.

"Boss." The husky man held out two packages of bread. Unlike the one-armed-man, he didn’t seem too hungry. He tossed one loaf to the woman sitting atop the rock pile.

The woman caught it, turned the bread over in her hands, looking at it carefully, but didn’t hurry to eat.

Just moments ago they had eaten quite a bit of raw monster flesh, so they weren’t particularly hungry. But seeing these normal foods after so long, they couldn’t resist giving it a try.

Seeing Qin Jiagui casually giving a bag of food to these strangers, Li Dong let out a small unhappy grunt, but didn’t say anything under the circumstances.

The thin man with the black-framed glasses pushed up his glasses and said, "Isn’t that obvious, big guy? The reason they’re here is exactly the same as ours."

"Four-eyed Field Chicken, think you’re clever? Then why don’t you guess their surnames and names? If you can guess that, I’ll give it to you," the husky man retorted.

The Glasses Man was stumped, and unconsciously adjusted his glasses again. Indeed, he was puzzled by that.

"Enough with the chit-chat." Suddenly, the seemingly proud woman who was sitting on the rocks jumped down. Her eyes were directed towards the front part of the gorge as she coldly said, "Something is approaching us. Be careful."

"Another monster?" The husky man wasn’t scared, instead his face lit up with a cruel yet excited look. He glanced over at Qin Jiagui and his group whilst making inquiries.

In fact, both sides had been covertly sizing each other up, assessing each other’s possible strengths. Especially the sleeping Su Yu on Zhang Zhongmou’s back, the veiled Ning Yan, and the food bags stuffed everywhere. All of this had aroused their keen interest.

The woman casually said, "I don’t know. But it’s coming—" Her voice trailed off as suddenly,"boom" echoes from both sides of the Earth wall. Qin Jiagui and the others were confused and in their surprise, they quickly formed a circle with their backs to each other, stashing all their bags in the inner ring. Zhang Zhongmou hastily set down the still sleeping Su Yu.

Watching the actions of Qin Jiagui and his group, the five people were mildly surprised. Just this one move showed that this group was not a disorganized mob, but a team that had undergone considerable mutual training.

Conversely, the five seemed to be standing randomly but were in fact arranged in a circle, except that they were all about one and a half meters apart.
