A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners -
Chapter 38: Spiritual Pil
Chapter 38: Spiritual Pil
With the gorilla’s death, a sudden transformation occurred in Ivy.
Her body emitted a dark aura that looked far more intimidating than before.
"I’ve gotten stronger," one of the students said.
"Me too. This is way stronger. I can release twice the amount of death energy compared to before."
"Looks like Ivy leveled up."
"..."
Ivy’s level up was immediately followed by the leveling of her undead.
No matter her level, all her undead would follow it. This was the terrifying part of a Necromancer.
However, most Necromancers didn’t have many undead. They even had to go out and hunt for them manually—unlike Ivy, who had awakened with more than a hundred undead at her command.
"Did you reach Level 8?" Oliver asked her.
"Yes, thank you!" Ivy replied quickly.
"By the way, the Monster Core is yours," she added.
Oliver gave a small nod and absorbed the Monster Core with his Observation Ring.
That wasn’t part of any deal, but Ivy herself insisted that whatever they obtained would belong to him.
"I’m going to check out that gorilla’s hut. There might be something," Oliver said, leaping up to the now half-destroyed hut.
"Ohh, what’s this?" He was immediately surprised upon entering.
He saw a bed and pillow made of tightly woven dry leaves, enormous in size.
Right above the leaf bed sat a transparent orb, about the size of a fist, radiating extremely pure spiritual energy.
(Tier 1 Spiritual Pill – contains 1,000 units of pure Spiritual Energy that can be directly absorbed into the body even without scripture comprehension!)
His Observation Ring gave him a clear notification with a short description.
It turned out to be a Tier 1 Spiritual Pill.
Of course, he had heard of these—rare items highly sought after by Cultivators since they could instantly fill their Spiritual Energy reserves, even if one had no comprehension of a scripture. They were perfect for those who wanted to increase their cultivation but couldn’t improve their scripture comprehension, or for those who hadn’t started cultivating yet.
If sold, its price could reach hundreds of thousands of dollars.
But this wasn’t about money. That price was just a market approximation. In reality, these pills couldn’t even be found on the open market.
No one knew how to make them. They could only be discovered in the Chaotic World.
Those who obtained them either used them themselves or gave them to someone very close.
With 1,000 units of pure Spiritual Energy, that was enough to turn ten ordinary people into Cultivators, bringing them to the First Stage of the Spiritual Master Realm.
Although their power wouldn’t be significant due to lack of scripture to shape their energy into a proper force, they would still be at least twice as strong as an average human.
Of course, boosting cultivation this way would, at best, increase it by one stage. Going two stages might result in failing to control the power gained.
’I won’t use this for myself, but if it’s Mom... she could definitely recover from her illness if she becomes a Cultivator,’ Oliver thought.
He was overjoyed—not because he had obtained a treasure, but because he had found a solution for his mother.
’I’ll store this for now.’ He quickly placed the pill into his Observation Ring.
His eyes scanned the hut further, spotting several pieces of metal that didn’t interest him in the slightest.
Then, he pulled away the leaf bed, feeling like something was hidden underneath it.
’What the—?’
Oliver’s expression shifted as he found a golden necklace beneath the bedding. It had black markings and was clearly made for a human. The pendant was a small skull—specifically a monkey’s skull, sized like a typical necklace charm.
He picked it up and immediately felt a sinister force radiating from within the monkey skull.
(Tier 2 Artifact – possesses the ability to summon evil spirits!)
’Even a Tier 2 Artifact?’
Oliver hadn’t expected the necklace to be something so powerful. After all, items like this weren’t easy to come by—especially artifacts, which were even rarer than weapons.
’But summoning evil spirits... not really my type,’ he thought.
Even if he did summon them, he wouldn’t be able to control them.
Unfortunately, there was nothing else of interest, so he exited the hut.
The students looked at him differently now—awed and envious, knowing that his power would soon become the talk of the school.
"What did you find in there?" Ivy asked when Oliver returned to her.
"Two valuable items. This is one of them," Oliver replied with a faint smile, showing her the monkey skull necklace.
"Take it. It might be useful for you," he added.
He wasn’t greedy enough to keep everything for himself.
Ivy was surprised. As she stared at the necklace, her awakener system quickly provided her with the item’s information.
It probably was useful for her, and without thinking, she took it.
But then she hesitated and tried to return it.
"I’m already satisfied with leveling up. If there’s a treasure, you should keep it and exchange it for something that can help your cultivation," she said.
"Don’t refuse." Oliver forcibly placed the necklace in her hand, making it clear with his expression that she had to accept it.
With her dark-type powers, she should be able to make good use of it.
Forced to take it, Ivy finally accepted.
"Thank you," she said softly.
After that, she put on the necklace, seemingly unbothered by the skull pendant.
Surprisingly, it actually suited her quite well, given her cold and gloomy vibe.
"Wait a moment—I’m going to turn this monkey skull into an undead," she said.
"You can do that?" Oliver asked, surprised.
For most Necromancers, there were two ways to obtain undead—either by summoning them from the World of Death, or by turning corpses into undead.
The latter was a much rarer skill. With it, one could gain a lot of undead quickly—unlike summoning, which took time.
"I just unlocked the skill after reaching Level 8. As long as the corpse isn’t more than five levels above me, I can turn it into an undead," Ivy explained.
Oliver nodded in understanding, realizing that Ivy still had skills she couldn’t use until she reached certain levels.
When she stood before the gorilla’s corpse, she raised her hand toward its forehead.
Dark energy surged from her palm, engulfing the massive body, melting its flesh until only the skeleton remained.
The skull quickly turned black, and a pair of red glowing eyes appeared within it.
Ivy’s power even reconnected the broken parts of the skull.
However, it was obvious that this skill drained her significantly. Her face quickly paled, likely because the monster’s corpse had a higher level than hers.
When she stopped, the gorilla’s skeletal head finally rose from the ground.
