Chapter 27: Great Progress

When the bottle was opened, its aroma spread into the air.

Oliver immediately felt a sense of intoxication just from smelling the wine’s fragrance.

His body felt incredibly light, while his mind was both relaxed and crystal clear.

He didn’t expect such an intoxicating effect—and that was just from the scent alone.

He began drinking the wine, which turned out to be sweet and warm, with no hint of acidity.

For a moment, he thought he was just drinking grape juice.

The effects he felt remained the same after drinking it—but many times stronger, to the point that he felt like his body had turned into smoke due to how weightless he felt.

He drank quite a bit but left a small amount in the bottle before sealing it again.

After that, he closed his eyes.

In this state, he could truly think with astonishing clarity and speed.

Everything complex could be broken down and understood in moments.

He could even absorb a large amount of Spiritual Energy.

Because he was already close to 4% comprehension of Black Hole, he had no difficulty unraveling several mysteries to push his understanding of the scripture to 4%.

And he achieved that in just 15 minutes.

Of course, the main reason for such speed was the Realm of his Will.

Without it, that process might have taken up to two hours—and that would’ve been the limit, since the wine’s effects likely wouldn’t last more than three hours at most.

Afterward, his focus shifted to Ordo of Life and its techniques.

He also tried improving his Will Energy, but apparently, it was impossible with his current strength—so he gave up.

Since Black Hole had reached 4%, he quickly shifted his focus to enhancing his Spiritual Energy.

Time seemed to fly for him even though he was just sitting in meditation.

He was racing against the clock, trying to achieve the best results before the wine’s effects wore off.

The benefits of having Will in the Earth Master Realm as a cultivator still in the Third Stage of the Spiritual Master Realm were truly astonishing.

Everything that once seemed difficult was now easy for his mind to grasp.

After an hour, he successfully increased his comprehension of Ordo of Life to 3%, which now matched his current cultivation stage.

As a result, his energy reserves were now ten times greater than before.

His Void techniques became even easier to understand thanks to his natural affinity.

When he opened his eyes again, he immediately checked his stats.

(Cultivation: Third Stage of Spiritual Master Realm!)

(Spiritual Energy: 233/400!) +233

(Body: Void Body!)

(Will: Earth Master | 0/10,000 Will Energy!)

(Innate Scripture from Void Body):

Black Hole (4%) +0.13

(Scripture):

Ordo of Life (3/10%) +2

(Innate Techniques from Void Body):

Void Domain (1.95%) +0.95

Void Particle Control (6.40%) +2

Void Step (5.75%) +2

Void Body Transformation (6.50%) +2

Void Sense (8.20%) +2

(Techniques: None)

"Plus 2 to almost all techniques except for Void Domain. Even my Ordo of Life improved that much—hah, that foolish woman Lisa would be ashamed if she knew this after telling me to slice my neck in half!" Oliver nearly laughed as he looked at it. He held it back with effort, only allowing himself a wide grin.

With his improved understanding of Ordo of Life and his techniques, his combat abilities naturally became far more refined.

He could now unleash much more dangerous attacks.

His movements would also become harder to predict, especially with the 2% boost to Void Step, which allowed him to create two identical afterimages whenever he moved.

Those two afterimages would even remain until they were destroyed.

This ability could easily confuse enemies in battle.

Of course, the most surprising development was the improvement to Void Sense.

It had become far more unpredictable—he could now extend it into another person’s body.

By doing so, he could read their movements by observing the motion of their muscles.

This ability was beyond anything he could’ve imagined.

’Too bad I haven’t gathered enough Spiritual Energy yet,’ he thought.

Of course, this wasn’t a big issue. With 4% comprehension of Black Hole, gathering enough Spiritual Energy to reach 400 was something he could do relatively quickly.

However, it was already morning now—so he decided to pause for a while.

"Ohh..."

Just as he was about to stand, his phone suddenly received a message from an unknown number.

(This is Ivy. What’s your answer? I’m going to school today—you can tell me there if you don’t want to reply now!)

The message surprised Oliver.

’She really seems determined to have me merge with her undead,’ he thought.

It was quite intriguing to him, so he decided he would go to school later.

As a third-year student who had already finished exams and paid all the fees, he was essentially free to attend school or not.

In fact, students like him were mostly just waiting for the announcements from universities about who would accept them.

’I wonder... if she already has an Undead Emperor, would she offer that one to me?’ he wondered.

Oliver has a plan to completely merge with the undead, making the undead a part of himself. He will search for the technique to achieve this merger later.

But as Evylin said, if he masters the technique, it would be pointless for him to merge with the King of the Undead; it must be the Emperor of the Undead.
