Chapter 241: Chapter 127: The Squirrel Steals Nuts_3 Chapter 241: Chapter 127: The Squirrel Steals Nuts_3 She plunked herself down on the bed, “I’ll see if there’s any woman’s stuff here, why only accuse me, you must have received many gifts from other women, I will find them and hold you to account, one by one.”

He replied indifferently, “There’s nothing from any woman.”

Yun Yuwan pulled out a book that was pressed at the bottom of the drawer, “Don’t tell me this name here is yours.”

The book’s cover bore the name Wan Hui, obviously a book from many years ago.

Wen Yangzhi had forgotten about this book, “Where did you find it?”

“From your drawer, you hid it so deep, do you often indulge in nostalgia?” Yun Yuwan interrogated.

Wen Yangzhi hadn’t lived in this room for ten years before now, which Yun Yuwan also knew, but it just irritated her.

After a moment of recollection, he said, “It’s a reference book I borrowed from her ten years ago and forgot to return, just throw it away.”

She stated confidently, “I won’t throw it away, this is evidence for the court.”

He took the book from her hand and after a moment, said in a calm voice, “You’ve turned the room upside down, but you knew this book was here all along.”

Yun Yuwan felt wronged and retorted, “How would I know your book was here, it’s my first time seeing it.”

He directly grabbed her hand and compared it to a tiny handprint with paint on the book cover, the size was almost identical, and even the fingerprints matched, “If you hadn’t touched it, how come your fingerprints are here?”

Yun Yuwan saw the print clearly, with every fingerprint matching precisely.

She was shocked.

But she had never touched the book before, so she swore, “That’s clearly the handprint of the senior from Parsons, you’re framing me.”

Wen Yangzhi was cold, “The only one around me with such small hands is you.”

Like the hands of a thirteen or fourteen-year-old child, with slender wrists.

Even the fingerprints matched perfectly.

But Yun Yuwan really was touching this book for the first time.

She didn’t know why the fingerprints matched.

She had only recently begun staying in this room and said aggrievedly, “You’re framing me, it’s obviously your old lover’s handprint, and it even matches mine. Did you choose me based on her? Or do you just like girls with small hands?”

Wen Yangzhi’s temple veins tensed up, his voice cold, “Stop the nonsense, it’s always been only you from the start to the end.”

She turned her face away, “I don’t believe it.”

Ten years ago.

Wen Yangzhi had borrowed a book from a senior girl and was about to leave when he heard the girl’s gentle and warm voice calling him.

“Wen Yangzhi.”

He stopped, the evening breeze fluttering the hem of his white T-shirt, his gaze falling indifferently on the girl’s face, radiant in the setting sun, yet his eyes remained detached.

The horizon was distant, and so was he.

The girl’s voice was gentle, “If possible, let’s meet at Parsons.”

He didn’t respond, just watched her in the evening breeze for a moment, then turned and walked away.

A middle school girl with a pink backpack was rushing and bumped into Wen Yangzhi.

The book in Wen Yangzhi’s hands dropped, and the round-faced girl hurriedly picked it up and handed it to him, “Brother, here you go.”

Her timid, anxious eyes had to strain to look up at the towering Wen Yangzhi.

But the paint from her hands had transferred onto his book, leaving a handprint.

Wen Yangzhi’s gaze fell lightly on that handprint.

He didn’t take it immediately.

He usually wouldn’t even leave a creased corner on his books.

She noticed it as well and, flustered, handed him the book and pulled back her hand, “I’m sorry, I’ve dirtied your book.”

The obviously anxious girl said, “But I’ll be late for my cram school, brother, which school and class are you from, where can I buy this? Is it okay if I buy one for you after class?”

This dirty little child.

Wen Yangzhi picked up the book by a corner and said, indifferent, “Don’t bother.”

The girl felt somewhat guilty.

But Wen Yangzhi didn’t want to fuss with a child, “Go to your class, this book isn’t important.”

Upon hearing this, the girl sighed in relief and ran off joyously again.

She scurried away with a quack-quack like Donald Duck, swinging her arms and legs outwards, her feet in white Converse sneakers resembling duck flippers, running along the Suzhou River.

Yet at this moment, Wen Yangzhi knew well she was looking for trouble, deliberately orchestrating this situation, even going so far as to imprint a handprint to vent at him, acting every bit the petulant child, “This fingerprint isn’t yours?”

She thought he was being unreasonable, there were so many people with small hands in the world, how could it definitely be hers, “Even if it is mine, it’s my first time finding it. I’m not making a big deal out of nothing, nor did I deliberately press my own handprint to pick a fight with you, it’s clearly you who secretly kept an old book from your Parsons senior.”

Wen Yangzhi was cool, “I don’t like her, how many times do I have to say it?”

Yuwan, unable to restrain herself, climbed onto the table and, standing on it, raised her voice, “Then do you like me?”

He faced her with a cold expression, and she thought he wouldn’t answer, but the next second, he said coldly,

“Have I ever not liked you?”
