A Crazy Love Proposal -
Chapter 227 - 227 119 Next_2
Chapter 227: Chapter 119 Next_2 Chapter 227: Chapter 119 Next_2 The weirdness made Wen Yangzhi’s eyebrows twitch.
Just then, the intercom phone rang, and Wen Yangzhi immediately pressed the speaker button.
Secretary Eva’s voice came through, “Director Wen, may I bring Miss Yun some hot water and cake now?”
Wen Yangzhi glanced at Yun Yuwan, who was ogling him, and replied with a minimalistic indifference, “Come in.”
Yun Yuwan, hearing this, quickly got up from him.
In just a dozen seconds, Eva entered, carrying the cake and hot water.
Yun Yuwan, feeling awkward, secretly pinched her Bunny Rabbit and muttered, “Thank you.”
Eva merely smiled and did not converse further, then swiftly left the office.
That Zheng surname is trying to harm her.
Fat chance.
Yun Yuwan promptly sat back down on his lap.
Wen Yangzhi commented lightly, “Don’t I have to work?”
She grumbled, “You brought me here, let me sit for a while.”
Wen Yangzhi didn’t respond, but wrapped his arms around her waist, silently consenting to her sitting.
Watching her eat the chocolate brownie, chocolate smudging on the edge of her lips like a black beard.
She scooped the cake with a spoon, ate a piece for herself, and suddenly also scooped up a spoonful and moved it toward his mouth.
“Brother, you eat too,” she said.
She looked at him with expectant eyes.
Wen Yangzhi leaned back slightly and declined coldly, “No need.”
Yun Yuwan hummed, “Brother, have a piece.”
She brought the spoon closer to him.
He turned his face away, “Take it away.”
Yun Yuwan’s voice was tinged with disappointment, as if she felt wronged and self-blaming, “Do you dislike it because I ate from it?”
Wen Yangzhi simply refused, “I don’t like chocolate.”
She uttered a drawn-out “Hmm~~” sound, the tail of her voice flirtatiously flicking, clearly a coquettish plea for him to eat.
Wen Yangzhi remained unmoved; her eyes and brows drooped down, like a defeated peacock dragging its feathers.
After a moment of silence, Wen Yangzhi took a bite of the cake she was holding.
Yun Yuwan’s demeanor immediately shifted from worry to joy, “I knew Brother was the best, willing to make me happy by eating chocolate even though you don’t like it.”
She made a fuss over such a trivial matter; Wen Yangzhi snorted softly.
Yun Yuwan babbled on, her voice sweeter than the chocolate brownie, “The most tolerant and generous man in the world is Wen Yangzhi.”
Somehow, the sickly sweet taste of chocolate in his mouth was no longer that unpleasant to Wen Yangzhi.
He didn’t understand why he fell for such a stupid routine, but when she was here, flattering and praising him in her whiny voice, he couldn’t help but prick up his ears to listen.
Wen Yangzhi’s eyes were half-lowered, with a smile that was barely there, indulgent yet seemingly able to see right through her.
Seeing Wen Yangzhi with that “Let’s see what other nonsense you can come up with” expression, Yun Yuwan knew she had coaxed him into a good mood.
She happily hopped down, carrying the cake as she toured his office.
His office was so large that, besides the usual workspace, it also contained a reception area and a study. There was yet another door, which she pushed open only to find a bed and a wardrobe inside, she exclaimed in shock:
“You have a room in your office too?”
Wen Yangzhi was drinking his tea, trying to suppress the nauseatingly sweet taste of chocolate, and he didn’t respond to her.
After a moment, he got up, took a paper towel into the room, grabbed Yun Yuwan, who was looking at decorations, and wiped her mouth clean before letting her go inside.
He casually tossed the paper towel into the waste bin.
Yun Yuwan asked curiously, “Why is there a bed?”
He shut the room’s door, “I get so busy I don’t have time to go back, so I rest here, sometimes staying the night.”
“You really are a workaholic,” she observed the signs of frequent use in the room, which, although clean, bore the marks of being lived in.
He clearly spent quite a bit of time sleeping here.
Wen Yangzhi saw her as being on the other extreme, “What about your work?”
“I actually handle it online as well, and Manon often comes to China and updates me on the progress,” Yun Yuwan said with self-satisfaction,
“My partners, two Italians and one French, are more romantic than the next. When I said I was going back to China to chase love, they immediately bought me a plane ticket and sent me off, telling me to stay for at least three months before returning.”
Wen Yangzhi said mildly, “So you plan to leave once you’ve caught up?”
She grabbed his wrists with both hands and shook them, dragging out her words with proud and seductive playfulness, “No, I plan to devour you completely before I go.”
He looked down at her with a gaze, “What do you mean by devouring completely?”
She shamelessly smiled at his profound eyes, “It means to drain you dry.”
Wen Yangzhi corrected her quietly, “Mind the influence of your words.”
With the room door locked, she had no filter, “What’s the matter, I’m not draining anyone else, just you.”
She let go of him and sat unabashedly on the carpet by the bed, with significant implications, “Brother, you even have a bed here, how convenient.”
She deliberately rubbed her face on his pillow, “So soft, so soft, just like Wen Yangzhi, it feels so comfortable when rubbed against.”
Watching her cling to his bed, relentlessly seducing him, was more intense and intoxicating than the fragrance of gardenias and night-blooming cestrum.
She knew full well that she couldn’t do anything during her special period and was teasing on purpose.
But Wen Yangzhi’s gaze on her was searing, bottomlessly intense, and the next second a single word floated from his thin lips: “Dirty.”
Yun Yuwan was just resting her head on her bent arm atop his pillow, looking up at him, when she suddenly curved her red lips:
“Yangzhi, it’s not dirty, is it? You just can’t help yourself, right?”
Normally, if it were anyone else, this gesture would have no power to waver a person.
But the person making these remarks on his pillow was the woman he liked, and Wen Yangzhi’s voice grew even more low and husky, “Get down.”
Yet she was relentless and pushed the envelope, “Then promise me we can sleep here together after my period is over.”
Wen Yangzhi’s face was cold, as if a tsunami was about to surge in his eyes, on the verge of anger, but the next second, his lips, clean of any lines, slightly moved:
“Deal.”
Yun Yuwan looked at his tense, cold face, deliberately clinging to him annoyingly, “Are you annoyed? If you are, why have you stopped smoking?”
But what Wen Yangzhi said next caught her completely off guard, “You said you wanted a child.”
Yun Yuwan felt as if someone had bagged her head and struck it with a hammer, her mind buzzing.
She couldn’t believe it, “…You’d want that?”
He parted his thin lips faintly, “With you, I would.”
