A Crazy Love Proposal -
Chapter 226 - 226 119 Next
Chapter 226: Chapter 119 Next Chapter 226: Chapter 119 Next Yun Yuwan heard him and felt a thrill of secret delight that sent her into raptures, but also felt a bit embarrassed, “Why so sudden?”
As he signed the document, he spoke in a matter-of-fact tone, his voice merging with the rustling sound of the fountain pen on the A4 paper:
“I hadn’t seen you in three years, and I wanted to see you.”
So, Wen Yangzhi did miss her.
He missed her so much that he took such roundabout ways, devising such an excuse, writing a letter so contrived, yet one that gave no reason not to return to the country.
An entire billion, even if she returned just to ask him why, she would come back.
The reason was simply to see her, even if it was just a hurried glance while cashing a check.
With such a large sum, it would surely be reported up through the hierarchy of any Wen Bank branch in the country where she attempted the transaction, and an appointment would be needed in advance.
He would definitely see her.
Yun Yuwan teased, “A billion just to see me once? Am I that expensive?”
He capped his fountain pen, composed as ever, striking at her fanciful vanity, “Now, seeing you doesn’t cost me a dime.”
Yun Yuwan’s smile faded.
“Why are you like this?” Yun Yuwan complained as she playfully hammered his arm with her Bunny Rabbit, “You don’t appreciate what you have.”
He was nonchalant, “After all, it’s just moving money within our own family, passing it through the bank would generate fees and have to be shared with other shareholders. It’s better you just spend mine directly.”
She almost laughed out, so Wen Yangzhi thought his money was also her money.
She tugged at his sleeve, whining softly, “Then why didn’t you just send me a message if you wanted me to return to the country?”
“I thought you would be repulsed if I messaged you,” he stated plainly.
Yun Yuwan didn’t understand, “Why would I?”
He was indifferent, “I thought you hated me.”
She suddenly leaned in and pecked his face, bashfully admitting, “I don’t hate you, I really like you.”
She had unexpectedly kissed him, her soft lips touching his cheek gently, like an excited puppy that rushes to lick with its strawberry-colored tongue.
On hearing she liked him, he paused for a second before remembering what he meant to say, calmly asking in return, “Weren’t you the one avoiding me?”
“I thought you had a girlfriend,” she mumbled.
Fortunately, that letter was not without his own ulterior motives, but Wen Yangzhi just wanted to see her and she almost couldn’t wait to lie in his bed…
Heaven, what was he thinking back then.
Yun Yuwan awkwardly asked, “Then after I came back, what did you think about those things I did to you?”
Wen Yangzhi, not looking up and flipping a page, responded, “I thought maybe you were very lonely.”
Yun Yuwan immediately retorted, “I wasn’t that lonely!”
“Then why didn’t you hit on me in those seven years?” Wen Yangzhi countered.
Yun Yuwan pretended to be self-deprecating, looking down, her fingers nervously twirling, and murmured theatrically, “Some people have always felt inferior. Wen Yangzhi is so tall, so handsome, so rich, and everything about him is great, I’m just not worthy, I even didn’t dare to talk to Wen Yangzhi.”
Wen Yangzhi looked at her standing figure with speechless amusement and scoffed:
“Inferiority.”
Referring to when she took off her pants and sat on his bed.
Referring to when she kissed him in the car before he had declared his feelings.
Referring to how she would brazenly cuddle and hug him in public without him ever saying whether he liked her or not.
He felt like she might as well stick feathers in her hair and parade around claiming to be a phoenix.
He braced his feet on the ground and pushed the chair away from the desk, patted his thigh invitingly, and said in a low voice, “Come sit down, Ms. Inferiority.”
Yun Yuwan joyfully sat sideways on his sturdy thigh, holding Bunny Rabbit.
Her bright doe eyes inspected him inch by inch, and she said with genuine sweetness in her voice, “Wen Yangzhi, you are as handsome as you were seven years ago.”
The blinding sunlight shone through the fully opened curtains of the floor-to-ceiling windows, accentuating Wen Yangzhi’s lean and stark face, even the play of light and shadow along his brow bone and nose bridge looked sexy.
His skin wasn’t utterly flawless; there was a small, indented scar hidden in his eyebrow, his pale pink lips still had lines in them, and the back end of the lashes under his left eye seemed to have undergone a surgery for inverted lashes, lacking five or six lashes just at the tip of the lower eyelid.
But it was this realism, his rugged manliness, the feel of an actual man that you could reach out and touch, that made people want to press their lips to his face.
Not like those airbrushed, egg-faced male stars on TV, too blurry and unreal, sometimes devoid of worldly desires.
“Just as handsome, just as likable?” Wen Yangzhi asked mercilessly.
She let go of Bunny Rabbit, hugged his neck, pressing her head against his, cheek to cheek, “Of course I like you more now.”
Her eyes shone with a tipsy light, “You’re so handsome, I really want to lick you.”
