A Crazy Love Proposal
Chapter 149 - 149 85 Wen of Wen Bank

Chapter 149: Chapter 85: Wen of Wen Bank Chapter 149: Chapter 85: Wen of Wen Bank “But does this mean he really wants to go the distance with me? I think that’s pretty easy to achieve,”

Yun Yuwan was still a bit skeptical.

Lin Chu raised a finger and shook it, “No, sister has seen a lot of men, and it wasn’t for nothing.”

“Those who pick on you are either trying to belittle you so you’re willing to compensate for the shortcomings or they regard you as low-maintenance, hoping to reshape you to their liking, or to paint you as the one at fault to hasten the breakup. If they really liked you, they wouldn’t nitpick everything about you.”

Lin Chu asked her to put herself in their shoes, “Think about it, would you ever find fault with your brother?”

It seemed not likely. Wen Yangzhi was perfect in every way.

Yun Yuwan was about to ask if she had any more tricks up her sleeve when Lin Chu’s phone suddenly rang. She answered with a submissive tone, “That’s right, President Liu, I’ll be relying on your help for the female second lead role this time.”

Bored, Yun Yuwan scrolled through her social media feed and discovered that Jiang Yingyu had posted a group photo from the Young Achiever Awards ceremony.

The award-winning young scientist seemed to be a good friend of Jiang Yingyu’s, so Jiang was particularly happy, having posted twice about it.

Opening the post, she couldn’t see Wen Yangzhi in the group photo, which was a bit of a letdown.

Still, she left a comment on Jiang Yingyu’s post: “Wow.”

Jiang Yingyu quickly messaged her: “Were you okay after you went back that day?”

More than okay—the man she had pined for six years hit a home run in two days.

Yun Yuwan: “Very good, the issue was resolved after I got back.”

Jiang Yingyu was standing in the shadow at the side of the stage, hand holding the phone frozen. After a moment, he sent her a cute emoticon.

Yuwan saw the car heading towards a different area. As Lin Chu finished her call, Yuwan curiously asked, “Where are we going?”

“To try on jewelry. I’ve landed a jewelry endorsement and we can go pick pieces for a photoshoot today,” Lin Chu touched up her lipstick in the car.

Yuwan realized that Lin Chu used to take her along to watch her commercial shoots, allowing her to experience the world.

There was a lot of professional equipment on set, and the stars’ posing was impressive. Even watching the photographer was intriguing to her.

The car stopped in front of a studio building, and Lin Chu brought her upstairs to the rest area.

Initially, the staff inside stopped them, giving Yun Yuwan a look.

She didn’t know what Lin Chu’s assistant said to the staff, but they quickly welcomed her with smiles.

The assistant brought clothes for Lin Chu, who turned and spoke to her, “You wait here for a moment. I’m going to change, and I’ll leave my assistant to keep you company.”

Yun Yuwan nodded, and Lin Chu pointed to the jewelry boxes on the table, “These pieces are for me after the shoot, but you can try them on for fun if you like.”

Yuwan glanced over; there was a variety of dazzling rings across the table. Girls usually couldn’t resist such shiny items.

It wasn’t long after Lin Chu left that Yuwan was still looking at the rings.

The sound of high heels clicking grew closer, and the room’s blackout curtain was swiftly pulled aside.

A heavily made-up woman appeared before Yun Yuwan.

The woman assessed Yun Yuwan from head to toe.

Chen Xue had long been aware that today there would be endorsers of varying titles taking promotional shots.

She knew that apart from Lin Chu, one level lower than herself in title, there was also an eighteen-line, even lower than Lin Chu, apparently referred by Lin.

She herself was a global endorser; Lin Chu was the jewelry line’s brand ambassador for the Asia region, and that eighteen-line was rumored to be from the Southeast Asia region.

Lin Chu and she debuted at the same time, but now Lin could only spin around in ancient costume and modern romance dramas, while she had attained a higher title.

To think they were all placed in the same resting room—what was the organizer thinking? Did they believe that after she had climbed to this position, she could stand sharing a room with someone of Lin Chu’s caliber?

Yuwan was trying on a ring, a Tourmaline Necklace ring.

Chen Xue scoffed on the side, “I’ve never seen a model with such stubby fingers. You still think about snatching jewelry endorsements with hands like that? Would the photos even look good? Don’t assume that just because Lin Chu brought you here, you could really score a jewelry endorsement.”

Suddenly confronted by someone she didn’t know, Yun Yuwan just looked puzzled.

It was nonsensical.

Moreover, just last night her brother had said that even a 13mm Australian Pearl looked like 20mm on her hand—it was proof of her elegance.

Her hand was truly elegant; no other hand could compete with hers.

With her confidence soaring, Yun Yuwan smiled with ease and retorted, “So your fingers, with such a strong presence, are you expecting the photographer to find the diamonds with a magnifying glass?”

Chen Xue didn’t expect the eighteen-line to talk back.

She sneered, “I’ve never seen someone so confident when they’re obviously lacking. You have some nerve to criticize others.”

“Whether I’m confident or factual, I am clear on that,” Yun Yuwan said slowly, looking at her own hand, “A one-carat ring looks like five carats of luxury on me. That is the purpose of an endorsement, not to overshadow the product with your own showiness. You might as well quit early.”

Staff members came in, just in time to see Chen Xue causing trouble for Yun Yuwan.

Chen Xue laughed coldly, “Luxury? If you understand endorsements so well, why don’t you have the brand offer you a global endorsement?”

Yuwan casually removed the ring and placed it back in the box, “I dare to ask for it, but I’m afraid the organizers would be trembling with fear.”

The staff member quickly stepped forward and whispered to Chen Xue, “Stop talking.”

Chen Xue looked down from her height, “Whether I speak or not isn’t up to you to decide.”

She turned to Yun Yuwan, “You dare to ask, of course the organizers would be frightened by someone of your caliber demanding so much.”

The staff member was sweating bullets, “Miss Chen, this lady’s surname is Wen.”

Chen Xue really wasn’t in the mood to inquire about the name of some 18th-tier celebrity: “So what if her last name is Wen, my babysitter’s son is also surnamed Wen.”

My God, how could a Wen and a Wen be the same!

Every word she says now will bury her.

The staff member was almost on fire: “The Wen you’re talking about is from Wen Bank.”

Chen Xue was still indifferent: “What’s this Wen Bank Wen?”

The staff member made desperate eye signals, almost straining their eyes, and Chen Xue finally realized something: “… Wen Bank.”

She glanced at Yun Yuwan and noticed that although the clothes she wore had no logos, the craftsmanship and materials were clearly high-end, along with the diamond earrings and the Australian Pearl ring, something an 18th-tier couldn’t afford.

Finally, there was a break and the staff member told her, “This is the daughter of Wen Bank, Lin Chu said she’s here to accompany her for the photoshoot today.”

Yun Yuwan was still as calm as a breeze, trying on the pieces Lin Chu had, not even glancing at Chen Xue.

Chen Xue felt a chill up her spine, belatedly aware of what she had just said.

So, what ring worn on her hand wouldn’t look classy?

The daughter of Wen Bank, even if her hands looked like pig’s trotters, she had the right to call herself elegant.

Because she was born elegant.

What status does Wen Bank have among the powerful? Who conducting business wouldn’t dare to offend a bank, especially one of Wen’s magnitude? Aside from the big six banks, Wen’s is the one most mentioned.

Who knows which day they might need Wen Bank’s loan to rescue them from dire straits, need Wen Bank’s business to activate a large amount of capital, or beseech Wen Bank for investment. Even if it’s not about interests, the bank’s network is enough to crush any businessperson who doesn’t know their place.

Everyone is pleasing and flattering banks.

Chen Xue couldn’t believe that the daughter of Wen Bank could be so approachable, and hadn’t anticipated offending such a bigwig: “…I’m sorry, I thought you were the little star Lin Chu brought over because there is some competition between us, so I spoke without thinking.”

Yun Yuwan didn’t look up: “Competition?”

Lin Chu’s assistant explained beside Yun Yuwan: “Not at all, the little star Lin Chu mentioned is just a single-line spokesperson for the Southeast Asia region.”

Yun Yuwan gently placed the ring box on the table: “So this lady is being a diva.”

Her words were gentle but made people’s backs sweat.

Her voice was light, but the content of her speech was enough to crush someone.

Chen Xue felt panicked, not daring to think about how Lin Chu managed to bring someone of such status.

Yun Yuwan smiled, put the Tourmaline Necklace ring back on, and asked her, “So, does it look good?”

Chen Xue hurried to compensate: “It looks good.”

“Even if I were just an 18th-tier celebrity, would you still think it looks good?” Yun Yuwan slightly raised an eyebrow.

Chen Xue forced a smile, “Of course.”

It wasn’t ugly to begin with; it was her own tactlessness.

Yun Yuwan spoke leisurely, as if to torment someone, “Is it my unfounded confidence?”

Chen Xue hastily replied, “No, it’s not.”

Yun Yuwan’s demeanor remained calm as she returned the ring: “Next time, make sure you’ve done your research before you lash out at someone. Also, Lin Chu and her friends are not beneath you. If you’re ranked high, your demeanor should be elevated as well. The stars I’ve met are all approachable.”

Chen Xue eagerly agreed.

A woman in a suit, obviously an executive, came up smiling from ear to ear, “Miss Wen.”

Yun Yuwan corrected, “My last name is Yun.”

“I get it, I get it.” The executive’s smile revealed her gums.

She likes to keep a low profile.

The staff introduced the woman to Yun Yuwan: “This is our executive president for the China Region.”

Yun Yuwan nodded politely and said nothing more. Lin Chu came over, still complaining that her dress was too tight.

Meanwhile, the executive president was discussing with her subordinate nearby, her brow furrowed,

“It must be that Wen Bank is considering a partnership with us, which is why Miss Wen came here to assess our situation, to see if we’re qualified to receive Wen’s funding. The spokesperson is also key.”

The subordinate asked, “Should we consider replacing Chen Xue? After all, she offended Miss Wen as soon as she arrived. If she remains the spokesperson, I’m afraid we won’t be able to win Wen’s favor.”

The executive president thought for a moment, “We haven’t signed a contract yet, so it’s not impossible to push Lin Chu to this spokesperson spot.”

In the middle of the shoot, Yun Yuwan’s phone rang; she quickly apologized as the staff hurriedly assured her it was okay.

It was a call from Wen Yangzhi.

She went out to the balcony, gleeful, “Have you finished with the awards ceremony?”

He stood upstairs, in a blind spot of the camera’s angle, watching the secretary on stage giving his speech, lightly flicking the ash from his cigarette, “Almost.”

She felt a sweet bliss in her heart, unconsciously picking at the wall, “So why are you calling me?”

His voice was cool, “I missed you.”

Yun Yuwan felt like she’d swallowed a spoonful of maltose, her lips involuntarily curved up from the sweetness, “Why miss me? Were you very free today?”

“Not free, but still missed you,” Wen Yangzhi said in a husky voice.
