Zhang San, please behave yourself!
Chapter 573 - 535: Are You Having Kidney Problems?

Chapter 573: Chapter 535: Are You Having Kidney Problems?

"Did you rest well?"

Long Bo Khan asked Zhang San, who had been slumped against a tree by the fire for quite a while.

Zhang San nodded with difficulty and said, "A bit better now. I suspect it might be because I’m not used to the water and soil here, or... never mind, don’t glare at me! I’m just not quite adapted to the climate of this grassland. I was fine yesterday, but today it feels a bit cold."

Long Bo Khan explained, "Naturally, that’s because we’re heading towards the Land of Eternal Night, it will get colder as we go! And..."

Suddenly, Long Bo Khan fixed his gaze on Zhang San’s eyes, looking at him very seriously and sternly, he asked, "How many times have you rested along the way? I’m even worried about the number of times you’ve gone to urinate. Could it be that your kidneys aren’t functioning properly?"

Zhang San was embarrassed and didn’t know how to respond to the question.

Fortunately, Long Bo Khan didn’t expect Zhang San to answer.

"Luckily, every time you went out to urinate, you were actually trying to seize the opportunity to escape. But you never got away!"

Zhang San originally thought that among these people, the strongest was Long Bo Khan. Based on his estimation, since Long Bo Khan had once contended for supremacy of the grasslands with Khan Muzhen, he undoubtedly possessed the strength of the Purple Mansion Realm.

But he didn’t think that all of his subordinates would be so formidable.

As it turned out, among the entourage of one hundred that followed Long Bo Khan, there seemed to be four guards who were captains at the Purple Mansion Realm.

The rest of the guards were all at the Spiritual Platform Realm, and most likely at the Late Period of Spiritual Platform Realm.

Don’t ask how Zhang San knew they were at the Late Period of Spiritual Platform Realm.

After all, the strength of someone in the early stages of the Spiritual Platform Realm should not hurt that much when hitting someone.

Seeing no hope of escape along the way, Zhang San could only continue looking for opportunities.

Unfortunately, as he continued following Long Bo Khan northwestward, though they crossed a tall mountain, the sight on the other side of the mountain made Zhang San stunned.

For on the other side of the mountain lay a vast expanse of snow-white land.

In the distance across the snowy land, a huge Heroic City stood between heaven and earth.

The black Heroic City seemed to be formed from countless dark clouds gathered together, resembling a piece of the night sky that had been torn off and carved into the shape of a city.

"There’s actually a city here!"

Zhang San knew that the Tujue people were nomadic and did not build cities.

This inability was both a matter of skill and behavior.

Yet now, he saw Long Bo Khan heading towards that Heroic City.

Now, Long Bo Khan possessed a massive city.

Pointing towards the distance, Long Bo Khan said, "Originally, I led my defeated people here, and amidst the vast snow, we found this damaged city. We settled down here to recuperate. And within this broken city, we found some scattered Divine Skills."

"Relying on these Divine Skills, my people and I survived here, and gradually grew stronger."

To Zhang San, Long Bo Khan’s claim of "growing stronger" seemed mostly boastful.

After all, it was obvious that this was a harsh and cold place, with hardly any resources to enable significant development and strength.

Not to mention the scarcity of cultivation resources, even weapon forging would be difficult.

However, as Zhang San got closer to the Black Heroic City following Long Bo Khan, he began to realize that he might have been wrong.

Because along the way, Zhang San encountered many patrols of cavalry riding Leopard Blood Spirit Colts.

Each cavalry troop consisted of fifty riders, led by a leader at the Spiritual Platform Realm, whose presence Zhang San could feel.

Moreover, these cavalrymen were all fully equipped with heavy armor that not only protected them well but even the Leopard Blood Spirit Colts they rode were draped in complete horse armor.

Armored Cavalry Equipment!

Zhang San had never imagined that in this place he thought was a land of bitter cold, he would actually see a large number of cavalry armed with Armored Cavalry Equipment!

It was even apparent that the equipment of the guard squad originally by Long Bo’s side was actually the worst.

At this moment, Zhang San had realized that Long Bo Khan’s outing, ostensibly to mourn Muzhen Khan and incidentally probe the reality of the Tujue, was actually a cover.

In fact, Long Bo Khan had probably been striving these years to develop and strengthen the tribe, even going so far as not to forget to deceive the enemy, making the Tujue people think she was not as powerful as she was.

That way, once the day came when Long Bo Khan wanted to strike at Tujue, her army would sweep over them and all the tribes’ cavalry across the grasslands would not stand a chance in front of Long Bo Khan’s mighty Heavy Cavalry.

As Zhang San followed Long Bo Khan’s group closer to the direction of Black Heroic City, they encountered even more tribes.

There were also numerous slaves, hauling massive amounts of ore dug out from unknown places, being transported.

Even Zhang San noticed some items in the wagons that were likely Cultivation Resources.

Clearly, the area was everywhere covered with bleak white snow, seeming barren and desolate.

Yet inside Black Heroic City, those plumes of black smoke that shot into the sky were not cooking smoke but the by-product of forging weapons and armor in workshops, or possibly even from large Alchemy Furnaces turning massive amounts of Cultivation Resources into Pills that were easier to absorb.

"Khan!"

As a guard squad comprised entirely of warriors clad in tightly fitted golden armor, even covering their faces with fierce masks, met them at the city gates, Zhang San couldn’t even sense the aura of the ten strong individuals leading the team.

Zhang San did not know, but this was likely Long Bo’s real guard squad.

"Take this young man to the top floor of the Jianmu Attic!"

Immediately, a strong individual leading fifty Golden Armored Guards approached Zhang San who quickly grabbed Hei and said, "I want to stay with my precious horse! There should be a place nearby to accommodate a horse, right?"

The guard leader looked at Long Bo who nodded slightly, then he permitted Zhang San to lead the horse along with them.

Just entering the city, Zhang San discovered that the entire interior of Black Heroic City could be said to consist mainly of three parts.

One part was a huge palace built of large black stones, which Zhang San guessed was Long Bo’s residence.

Another part was a massive towering tree whose height reached dozens of meters, almost as tall as the city walls, which made it impossible to detect such a colossal object from outside in the city’s interior.

And this colossal plant had well-developed roots.

The residence Zhang San was brought to was modified from the high, protruding roots emerging from the ground.

At a distance, it looked like an Elf’s domicile.

But only after entering did he realize that, although the materials resembled those found in Elf Wonderland, the internal structure resembled a Beastman Prison.

And he was locked in the top-most floor of this building.

Zhang San looked around the room at a large bed, a wardrobe, corner desk,

and a few windows and a skylight.

Yet, whether it was the windows or skylight, Zhang San could sense the lethal intentions contained within the Rune Arrays above.

Clearly, escaping was out of the question.

At this moment, looking at Hei tied down outside the window, Zhang San fell into deep thought.

How could he escape from this place?
