Zhang San, please behave yourself! -
Chapter 479 - 451: The Mare! It’s the Mare Screaming!
Chapter 479: Chapter 451: The Mare! It’s the Mare Screaming!
The moon was wrapped in darkness and the wind was high, making it the perfect time to forge a close relationship with the Tujue.
Zhang San rode Hei northward.
However, this time Zhang San did not take the previous route, but opted for a route slightly to the west of it.
After all, the Tujue were not fools.
On this route, two tribes had been wiped out by himself.
They knew their neighbors were gone, yet did not leave this dangerous area, such enemies were just to his liking.
Riding Hei to the west for a while, Zhang San faintly heard the sound of fighting in the distance.
"Hei, do you hear anything?"
"I heard it! It’s a mare! I hear a mare screaming! It’s so exciting!"
Zhang San looked sternly at the Hei beneath him.
Speaking of which, although this fellow was a Chi Dragon, he had served as a Black Chi Horse for so long and now, when transforming, he even took the form of an eighteen-year-old youth.
Was it time to consider breeding him?
If he could breed a squadron of Chi Dragon Black Cavalry, wouldn’t he make a fortune?
"Let’s go! Let’s see!"
At that moment, Hei was excited, and Zhang San was even more thrilled.
A man and a dragon quickly arrived at the scene of the battle, under the cover of night, where the shouting and killing did not cease.
Zhang San employed the Ninefold Scrutiny and was astoninshed.
Because Zhang San noticed that within the battling "crowd," there were Tujue everywhere.
And the ones clashing with the Tujue were a group of Centaurs!
The lower horse halves of these Centaurs were immensely strong, while the upper human halves were equally muscular but slightly smaller compared to the towering lower halves.
Both sides engaged in archery, with the Centaurs holding their ground well and even shooting farther and with greater penetrative power than the Tujue.
However, there were only about five hundred Centaurs, including men, women, the elderly, and the young.
But facing them on the Tujue side were over two thousand men, not including the women and elderly continuously transporting arrows and rescuing the wounded from tents not far behind.
Even now, a force of four to five hundred Tujue cavalry was flanking the Centaurs from behind.
"Master, let’s help these poor Ying Zhao," Hei said.
"What dirty trick?"
"Ying Zhao. These beings with horse-like lower bodies and human upper bodies are the Ying Zhao clan, a rare demon clan surviving from ancient times. Legend has it they once had wings, but their bloodline nearly vanished, and somehow they survived, losing their wings in the process." [Annotation 108]
Zhang San curiously asked, "Why do you care so much?"
Hei’s face turned red, and he whispered softly, "Master, you see that mare, that buttock, it’s so tempting to touch!"
Zhang San glanced at Hei, never expecting Hei to have such a fetish.
This horse had also followed him for so long, why was he nothing like him at all?
Look at me, I’m very serious.
Zhang San had no strength to complain and glanced towards the Ying Zhao who were about to be surrounded. Indeed, there was one, or rather a striking female Ying Zhao, drawing her bow and shooting three arrows each time.
Time after time, her speed of shooting was even faster than Zhang San using the Meteor Arrow Technique.
However, she did not employ any Archery Technique, relying purely on strength and speed, yet shooting with extreme precision.
Shooting continuously as she charged forward, she seemed determined to suffocate the enemy.
Then she picked up a Long Lance from the ground, swung her arms, directly sweeping about seven or eight Tujue cavalry nearby, then tossed the Long Lance again, piercing two Tujue cavalry with one throw.
So strong!
At this moment, Zhang San actually felt an impulse to have Hei marry.
If his side had such a brave group of Ying Zhao troops, raiding the Tujue would be as easy as snatching sugar-coated hawthorns from his own grandson.
"Watch out behind!"
At that moment, from behind the Ying Zhao tribe, the Turkic Cavalry launched their attack.
With arrows suddenly shooting from behind, breaking the defense formation of the Ying Zhao tribe, many Ying Zhao were injured.
The Tujue people took the opportunity to charge at full speed, like a sharp knife, aiming to split the Ying Zhao tribe’s formation down the middle.
Zhang San knew that once the Tujue completed their formation-splitting maneuver, they could disperse the Ying Zhao tribe’s formation with several charges.
Then they could gradually devour the Ying Zhao tribe.
"Protect the Prince!"
Zhang San noticed that on the Ying Zhao side they quickly gathered, focusing on protecting a male Ying Zhao.
Clearly, he must be the leader of this group of Ying Zhao.
Zhang San did not rush to take action.
On one hand, the battlefield was chaotic—recklessly charging over would likely result in receiving a combined welcome from both the Tujue and the Ying Zhao.
On the other hand, saving someone meant intervening when they were surrounded and hanging by a thread. It wasn’t the best opportunity to intervene just yet.
"Master, that female Ying Zhao is in danger, can I go save her?"
At that moment, Zhang San noticed the previously fierce female Ying Zhao had already rushed back to protect the Ying Zhao Prince, and was now resisting the charging cavalry.
Zhang San whispered, "What if... I mean, what if this female Ying Zhao likes this Prince? If we go and save them, and then the Prince survives and ends up marrying the female Ying Zhao you like, what will you do then?"
Hei was taken aback and retorted, "That Prince shouldn’t be able to beat me, right?"
Zhang San was even more stunned, asking, "And what if you can beat him? What if the female Ying Zhao just likes the Prince?"
Hei shook his head and said, "Master, this is where you humans don’t quite get it. You want to be with a woman, yet you talk about love and consider family background, you think everything through thoroughly before getting together. We from the Demon Clan are different; if we like, we act—see and take! What I desire is mine, unless you kill me!"
Zhang San was seeing Hei’s assertive side for the first time.
Indeed, growing up really does make a difference.
After all, since Hei had been following him, not only had he practiced more diligently, but sometimes Zhang San would also give him some Pills that he couldn’t use.
Having developed rapidly up to now, although the weather was already turning to autumn, it was normal for Hei to be in a spring-like state.
"Since that’s the case, when the time comes, we’ll each take a horse and charge over. I’ll be responsible for saving the Prince, after all, this Prince is likely the leader of this Ying Zhao tribe. You’ll show your prowess in front of your female Ying Zhao. How does that sound?"
"Thank you, Master! Someday you’ll marry eighty mistresses."
"I appreciate the thought, but I fear even uncovering two Kidney Divine Treasures wouldn’t be enough to handle that number!"
Zhang San said, taking out a Mo Blade from his Storage Ring, mounting his horse, and charging toward the direction of the Ying Zhao Prince, now surrounded by over a dozen Turkic Cavalry!

[Note 108]Citation explanation
Ying Zhao, cited from "Shanhaijing: Western Hills": Ying Zhao, its appearance is that of a horse’s body but with a human face, tiger stripes and bird wings, roams the four seas, and its sound is like that of pomegranates.
A horse body with a human face, I’m not sure if it’s a horse’s body but with a human head substituted, or a centaur, but I lean towards a centaur because it looks better.
Tiger stripes and bird wings, I’ve toned these two designs down, as they foreshadow later developments.
Roaming the four seas, its sound like pomegranates probably means it travels the oceans, but I’m not quite sure what the sound signifies. I suspect it might mean it has a loud voice, like a grenade launcher! (Just a guess)
I know everyone is quite concerned about the reproductive structure of centaurs, so I specifically researched a lot of material, but putting it in a footnote takes up too much space. I will present the findings and the full settings of this book in an upcoming interview.
