Yugioh Card Summoner
CH.642 Generic Pack Opening chapter title number #20

Luckily for the rest of the qualifiers we didn’t have other cases of people preventing others from taking part.

We did have one case of a competitor destroying a Factory VR station. He got mad after he was disqualified for aggressive contact, got himself a ban from the Factory, and he wasn’t exactly happy about it. So he took it out on the Factory VR station.

In front of multiple adventurers and other guild personnel. So he was made to pay for the damage, and I don’t think I need to tell you, but the Factory VR stations aren’t cheap.

Sure it wasn’t damaged to the point where it couldn’t be repaired, but they didn’t know that, so I just gave them an estimated material value for the station based on current going rates, and just that came to little over 1000 gold. With all the work that would be needed to make one, the real value is realistically more like 5000 gold or something.

Still, 1000 gold is way more than your average C-rank adventurer, which he was, has. So he was turned into a debt slave, with the guild holding onto him as their slave. And the guild didn’t even have money to pay the entire cost in one go, instead asking for a payment plan, which I agreed to.

For my part, I just changed the station with a fresh one from Storage, set up the new one and returned to HomeBase to make the repairs.

No, I couldn’t just fix it with Storage. The repair function only works as long as the item isn’t broken. Or in terms of this world, as long as it has at least 1 durability remaining. But when it goes to 0 durability, it turns into a ‘broken’ item and Storage can’t fix that.

I was able to salvage most of the VR station with Storage, repairing the parts to perfect durability, but I had to swap out a few of them. After re-evaluating the repair cost, the material cost was likely closer to 200 gold, but I honestly don’t care. With the work to make the parts, the cost would still be around the 1000 gold mark, so that is what he will have to work for. It isn’t my fault he couldn’t keep his temper in check.

But now with the qualifiers over, I think it is time for some packs. Because I want to open some before the tournament takes even more of my time.

I have three sets I’m missing cards from and since I like all three of them, I think 10 packs of each will be good.

Starting with Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy.

Spoiler

LTGY 1

Gagagawind; Tatakawa Knight; Starfish; Dragoncarnation; Mimimic; Eagle Shark; Battlin' Boxer Glassjaw; Legendary Atlantean Tridon; Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls

[collapse]

Oh? Got a new card in the first pack. Wasn’t expecting that.

Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls is one of the two adult rulers I was still missing, so it is great to pull it from a pack.

Let’s hope I can get the last missing Ruler from these packs. Next pack.

Spoiler

LTGY 2

Mecha Phantom Beast Stealthray; Stream, Dragon Ruler of Droplets; Reactan, Dragon Ruler of Pebbles; Tatakawa Knight; Mecha Phantom Beast Blackfalcon; Mind Drain; King of the Feral Imps; Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Wolf; Trifortressops

[collapse]

Nothing new in the second pack. Next.

Spoiler

LTGY 3

Reactan, Dragon Ruler of Pebbles; Dragoncarnation; Spellbook of Miracles; Little Fairy; Battlin' Boxer Switchitter; Battlin' Boxer Headgeared; Memory Loss; Fire Formation - Gyokkou; Mecha Phantom Beast Tetherwolf

[collapse]

Fire Formation - Gyokkou I already had, got it with an effect of … some monster that can set Fire Formation spells from the deck. And honestly, it isn’t even that good.

Mecha Phantom Beast Tetherwolf on the other hand is decent. It is also a pretty nice helicopter, so I could probably make some helicopters by studying it, if I wanted. They could be useful for knight orders who need to watch over roads and stuff. And just short distance transportation, especially to places that don’t have an airship dock.

Next pack.

Spoiler

LTGY 4

Shark Fortress; Mimimic; Sonic Warrior; Dragoncarnation; Mind Drain; Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Wolf; Green Duston; Geargiagear; Fairy Cheer Girl

[collapse]

Geargiagear is pretty nice. It summons 2 Geargiano monsters from the deck and even increases their levels by 1. And since it summons from the deck, it can get me new stuff.

Next pack.

Spoiler

LTGY 5

Fire Formation - Kaiyo; Tatakawa Knight; Abyss-scale of the Mizuchi; Dotedotengu; Panther Shark; Battlin' Boxer Switchitter; Battlin' Boxer Glassjaw; Evilswarm Kerykeion; Do a Barrel Roll

[collapse]

Evilswarm Kerykeion is pretty nice. Well, it is useless for me, but in the TCG, it is pretty good. It is also the third higher rarity card in a row, so that is nice.

Next pack.

Spoiler

LTGY 6

High Tide on Fire Island; Fire King Avatar Garunix; Green Duston; Battlin' Boxer Counterpunch; Burner, Dragon Ruler of Sparks; Bachibachibachi; Aerial Recharge; Parsec, the Interstellar Dragon; Xyz Revenge

[collapse]

Battlin' Boxer Counterpunch is just a wannabe Honest, or I guess more like the Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow, for Battlin' Boxers. Except that it only gives 1000 attack, while Honest and Kalut give more. But I suppose Counterpunch can be activated by banishing it from the GY, so that is nice.

Next pack.

Spoiler

LTGY 7

Reactan, Dragon Ruler of Pebbles; Battlin' Boxer Headgeared; High Tide on Fire Island; King of the Feral Imps; Spellbook of Miracles; Memory Loss; Battlin' Boxer Counterpunch; Lightning, Dragon Ruler of Drafts; Number 69: Heraldry Crest

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

LTGY 8

Mermail Abyssocea; Mind Drain; Mecha Phantom Beast Blackfalcon; Five Brothers Explosion; Battlin' Boxer Headgeared; Summon Breaker; Abyss-scale of the Mizuchi; Mecha Phantom Beast Stealthray; Wheel of Prophecy

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

LTGY 9

Spellbook of Miracles; Battlin' Boxer Headgeared; Battlin' Boxer Counterpunch; Eagle Shark; Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Wolf; Blizzard Falcon; Magnum Shield; Summon Breaker; Trifortressops

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

LTGY 10

Dragoncarnation; Risebell the Star Adjuster; Mind Drain; Shark Fortress; Battlin' Boxer Headgeared; Blizzard Falcon; Battlin' Boxer Sparrer; Fire Formation - Gyokkou; Gogogo Gigas

[collapse]

And nothing new here either. Sadly my last higher rarity card got wasted on a repeat Gyokkou. But whatever. Time to change sets.

To Hidden Arsenal 7: Knight of Stars.

Spoiler

HA07 1

Ironhammer the Giant; Evilswarm Golem; Phoenix Beast Gairuda; Constellar Sheratan; Evilswarm Thanatos

[collapse]

Evilswarm Golem, what did you do to AoJ Catastor? I mean you are quite the good monster, but you look … scary.

Phoenix Beast Gairuda is pretty mediocre. Like really. You gain 300 attack when attacking a monster. That’s it? You’re a level 6 with 2500 attack already. I don’t think that 300 more is really going to help. Well, I guess you can get over Gem-Knight Pearl.

Constellar Sheratan is nice. Just an on summon searcher.

And Evilswarm Thanatos can just make itself immune to the effects of other monsters. Which is a great effect just look at Number 81, but not so much on a monster that has 2350/1350 stats.

Next pack.

Spoiler

HA07 2

Evilswarm Coppelia; Gem-Knight Seraphinite; Gishki Photomirror; Evilswarm Obliviwisp; D.D. Esper Star Sparrow

[collapse]

Evilswarm Coppelia is pretty good for my use, as I don’t need to worry about tribute summoning it. And if it is destroyed, I get to mind control someone or something.

Gem-Knight Seraphinite. Another nightmare card for some people. Thanks, Brilliant Fusion. It is decent enough that I might use it, or might give some Gem-Knights to someone else.

Evilswarm Obliviwisp is an effect negater, but only after a battle. Which isn’t terrible, but it lacks a bit in terms of attack.

And D.D. Esper Star Sparrow is great. 3k attack, your opponent has to target it with attacks and effects. And if you are attacked directly while it is in your GY, you get to special summon it. Just a great monster but sadly it was printed too late to be relevant. Or maybe the ‘archetype’ it belonged to was too bad.

Next pack.

Spoiler

HA07 3

Constellar Sheratan; Constellar Meteor; Constellar Antares; Tin Goldfish; Infestation Infection

[collapse]

Constellar Antares is on summon GY recovery. Just a shame it is a level 6 instead of level 4. Well, I don’t have to tribute summon it, so I don’t much care.

Next pack.

Spoiler

HA07 4

Gishki Avance; Phoenix Beast Gairuda; Constellar Alrescha; Fragment Fusion; Lavalval Chain

[collapse]

Gishki Avance is an interesting deck stacker, but deck stacking effects don’t really work for me.

Fragment Fusion is fine, but why does it have to destroy the summoned monster during the end phase?

Next pack.

Spoiler

HA07 5

Evilswarm Mandragora; Evilswarm Salamandra; Constellar Rasalhague; Gem-Knight Seraphinite; Gishki Zielgigas

[collapse]

Evilswarm Mandragora just special summons itself.

And Gishki Zielgigas is pretty nice. Free Pack tokens, I think, at the cost of the shuffling effect not actually working. Also the tokens aren’t free, they cost 1000 HP, but whatever.

Next pack.

Spoiler

HA07 6

Constellar Algiedi; Constellar Virgo; Gishki Natalia; Phoenix Beast Gairuda; Constellar Hyades

[collapse]

Constellar Hyades forces all opposing monsters for face-up defense, which could maybe be useful.

Next pack.

Spoiler

HA07 7

Constellar Meteor; Constellar Star Cradle; Beast-Warrior Puma; Gishki Photomirror; Infestation Infection

[collapse]

Beast-Warrior Puma searches Esper Star Sparrow.

Next pack.

Spoiler

HA07 8

Tin Goldfish; Evilswarm Mandragora; D.D. Jet Iron; Constellar Rasalhague; Constellar Pleiades

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

HA07 9

Constellar Antares; Gishki Psychelone; Constellar Algiedi; Gem-Knight Zirconia; Evilswarm Ophion

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

HA07 10

Constellar Rasalhague; Evilswarm Heliotrope; Gishki Avance; Evilswarm Castor; Daigusto Emeral

[collapse]

Evilswarm Castor gives you an additional normal summon. I still have an unlimited amount of them.

Daigusto Emeral on the other hand can actually do some cool things. Summoning Vanillas from the GY, and the reshuffling of stuff are both quite decent effects.

Now, next set change.

And the last set is naturally Number Hunters.

Spoiler

NUMH 1

Chronomaly Sol Monolith; Zubaba Knight; Unformed Void; Resurrection of Chakra; Box of Friends

[collapse]

Box of Friends is decent enough. Special summoning Normal monsters with 0 attack or defense might not be the best, but that still might include some cards I don’t have yet.

Next pack.

Spoiler

NUMH 2

Photon Lizard; Resurrection of Chakra; Unformed Void; Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker; Box of Friends

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

NUMH 3

Kurivolt; Kagetokage; Photon Lizard; Insect Armor with Laser Cannon; Number Wall

[collapse]

Insect Armor with Laser Cannon sounds familiar, right? Yeah. It is an upgrade of Laser Cannon Armor. Sadly the ‘massive’ 700 attack boost is outdone by Solidarity, and a pure Insect deck is one of the easiest Solidarity decks to make.

Next pack.

Spoiler

NUMH 4

Gash the Dust Lord; CXyz Mechquipped Djinn Angeneral; Mechquipped Angineer; Photon Cerberus; CXyz Battleship Cherry Blossom

[collapse]

Mechquipped Angineer is fine-ish. It turns something into defense position and makes it indestructible by battle or card effect for the turn.

CXyz Battleship Cherry Blossom forces discards, which will never be relevant, and can burn someone based on the number of cards on the field.

Next pack.

Spoiler

NUMH 5

Battlecruiser Dianthus; Gimmick Puppet Nightmare; Rocket Arrow Express; Number 87: Queen of the Night; Number 74: Master of Blades

[collapse]

Battlecruiser Dianthus is the non ranked up version of CXyz Battleship Cherry Blossom that I just got. … and it also sucks. Burn damage based on the number of cards in my opponent’s hand. Well, they have 0 so it doesn’t do anything.

Next pack.

Spoiler

NUMH 6

Photon Lizard; Zubaba Knight; Gimmick Puppet Egg Head; Resurrection of Chakra; Number 74: Master of Blades

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

NUMH 7

Blue Mountain Butterspy; Zombowwow; Rocket Arrow Express; Resurrection of Chakra; Comics Hero King Arthur

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

NUMH 8

Blue Mountain Butterspy; Stoic Challenge; Gimmick Puppet Nightmare; Mechquipped Angineer; Comics Hero King Arthur

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next.

Spoiler

NUMH 9

Blue Mountain Butterspy; Insect Armor with Laser Cannon; Kagetokage; Gimmick Puppet Nightmare; Heroic Challenger - Ambush Soldier

[collapse]

Nothing new here, next, and last, pack.

Spoiler

NUMH 10

Resurrection of Chakra; Zubaba Knight; Number 85: Crazy Box; Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker; CXyz Simon the Great Moral Leader

[collapse]

And nothing new. I feel like Number Hunters is ready to be fully completed, so before I call it a day, I’ll just set up Capsules to get what I’m missing.

And I was missing 5 cards.

Battle Warrior is a vanilla that wasn’t printed until now because … I don’t know.

Photon Alexandra Queen has a mass return to hand effect. Which could be good.

Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder can target and destroy special summoned monsters.

Number 54: Lion Heart inflicts the battle damage you take, or would take, to your opponent.

And CXyz Skypalace Babylon can attack twice, and burns the opponent equal to half of the attack of any monster it destroys. Nice but the non ranked up version is better.

Spoiler

[collapse]

But yeah. That is Number Hunters completed. The set had some really nice stuff, and a lot of Number monsters to power up the Numeron Code. 9 of them, if you want specific numbers.
