Chapter 87: Compatibility
Chapter 87: Compatibility
RINA
Rina was just over it.
She agreed to talk in private because she wanted to throw it down. And that would not be a good addition to her already screwed reputation.
But things just won’t go as planned with this man.
She wanted to tear into him by pointing out how judgemental he was.
Then, she wanted to set him straight by telling him to forget about what had happened before. She said that was a one-time event and should be left in the past.
"A one-time thing?" Idris asked as he got closer to her.
"Yes." Rina scrunched up her face as Idris kept on leaning closer. He towered over her, and his presence was enveloping her.
Idris was explosive, but he might have been too explosive for her. She wouldn’t be able to stand it if he was as judgemental as he was earlier. They wouldn’t be compatible, and it’s not that she wished for anything more for this to even matter.
"We’re not compatible." She told him.
"Not compatible?" He smirked, his face so close now that Rina had to turn her face away.
This was probably the most they’ve spoken in person since the actual work meeting.
"I think you’re making hasty decisions without giving it much thought." He said before planting a chaste kiss on Rina’s ear.
The poor girl panicked at the sudden intimacy and blurted, "There’s no need to think about it. It...It’s obvious!"
The attack on her senses was too much for an inexperienced girl to handle, and she eventually allowed him to "verify" her claim.
"How? How would you even verify such a thing?" Rina asked hesitantly, looking up at Idris with shifty eyes.
"Like this," Idris whispered before going in for a kiss.
She was caught off-guard, gasping at the contact, only to make it easier for him to take what he wanted.
Idris continued his attacks on her lips, her legs weakening at the mounting pleasure. Then Idris moved his lips away before asking.
"Do I have your permission?" His eyes showed so much desire that Rina had to do a double take. That alone gave her butterflies.
Her body was clearly a traitor for reacting like this.
She gave it a hard thought. Okay, maybe it wasn’t so hard because had that been the case, then she wouldn’t end up horizontal and vertical with him again.
"You’re so much better when you don’t open your mouth, you know?" Rina said in annoyance before she claimed his waiting mouth.
The guy was not kidding when he said he would like to test their compatibility.
In the middle of their romp, Rina was suddenly carried to the couch in front of the floor-length mirror.
"Look at you. Look at us. Now tell me we’re not compatible?" Idris spoke from behind her.
Rina couldn’t bring herself to look at the reflection. But she was so close that the only way not to see was to keep her eyes shut the entire time.
She actually tried that, but the sensations she got from not being able to see overwhelmed her senses.
Rina opened her eyes to a reflection that would cement itself in her brain for a very long time.
Her long hair was splayed around her shoulder while Idris occupied the other side, nuzzling her neck with kisses and small bites.
Rina couldn’t imagine making that expression on her face, much like she couldn’t imagine how such lewd sounds could keep on coming from her mouth.
Idris took her from the back, with her sitting on his lap as she unconsciously rode him.
She watched herself being connected to the guy, her body flushed with lust that she had to be held in place by Idris.
When he fondled her breasts, Rina arched against him. And she could clearly see herself doing that.
No wonder the asshole was confident.
It pained her to know that her argument was mute when compared to this.
She looked positively ready to carry his damned babies.
Dammit.
Dammit all to hell!

When morning came, Rina ran away. This was no walk of shame. At best, it started as a crawl, then became a sprint of shame the moment she got far enough.
She didn’t want to wake up the handsome guy who took his sweet time sleeping after all that gallivanting because she had no idea how to face him.
Rina successfully hid until lunchtime, when she had to drag her ass to the exhibition hall for day 2 of the construction summit.
She was planning on being as inconspicuous as possible but was easily spotted by Idris from god knows where.
Was this because architects are used to spotting the tiniest points and lines? He’s insane!
Rina kept thinking this was her karma for throwing Eli under the bus. Because she let Lucian get a hold of her, Idris came barrelling.
It’s an exaggeration, but you get the point.
"Were you that intent on running away?" He asked as he dragged me to the nearest fire exit.
"Correction. I wasn’t running, but I’d be late if I stayed longer." Rina raised a finger to emphasize her point.
Just lie through your teeth.
"So this was left behind intentionally? And not because you were running away?" Idris pulled out an undergarment.
My undergarment. Shit. Rina screamed internally as she grabbed at her underwear.
Both choices were terrible. She’d implicate herself regardless of what she picked. But the priority was to hide the evidence, lest someone walk by to see him holding that.
"Are you nuts?! Give it back!" Rina tried taking the offending underwear from his hand, but he just avoided her attempts.
"Why would I do that when you left this for me?" Idris decided to tuck it away for safekeeping.
"That was an accident! Just like last night!" Rina growled at him.
"You wound me!" Idris pouted, but his eyes were shining.
This asshat!
"Wounded your face! Why did you even drag me here?!"
"First, I wanted to check on you. Second, I’ve decided to accept your proposal." Idris counted with his fingers while Rina’s face kept contorting as he did.
"I’m fine. Alive. What proposal are you talking about? I gave no such thing."
"Tsk. Tsk. Lying isn’t a good thing, you know?"
He shook his head before adding, "You wanted to offer me your firstborn child, didn’t you? I just wanted to tell you that I accept."
Rina’s eyes grew so wide they were practically saucers.
"That was an exaggeration! A figure of speech! Who’d want to offer you a child? And I don’t even have one!"
"Exactly. So you just have to try harder to bear me one. "
"Idris!" Rina’s face was flustered as she angrily called him.
"Yes, honey?"
"Who wants to be your honey?!"
"Fine then, darling." He shrugged, and Rina felt like she should be expecting an aneurysm.
"Eat first, then be angry later." Idris proceeded to drag Rina back to the hall, only for them to come face-to-face with Eliana and Lucian.
Someone just kill me now!
__
Now, hypothetically, how should one go about explaining the cluster fuck that was her life?
Rina tried different ways, but none of it sounded plausible. She’s also got no conclusion.
Should she just say, "I’ve surrendered the white flag to our architect?"
Argggh!
