Your Lord Has A Screw Loose?
Chapter 684 - 686: Madly Imbued, You Si Territory

Chapter 684 -686: Madly Imbued, You Si Territory

She Xi’s feeble body crawled forward in the dark and damp cave. The blow he had received earlier allowed him to withstand it through the power of his Snake Father and his own strength, but he was seriously injured nonetheless. His spine was shattered, and his body was contaminated with a considerable amount of an unknown disease.

This disease tormented not only his body but also incessantly eroded his soul, sometimes making it impossible for him to distinguish between reality and illusion.

He couldn’t understand why such a powerful being had suddenly appeared; he could sense that the stranger’s power was nearly equal to his own at his peak. If he hadn’t quickly left the area covered by the kingdom’s influence and lifted the suppression, he wouldn’t have survived that blow at all.

“Finally, I am back, to the ancestral land of my You Si Snake-man Clan.” She Xi looked at the sealed stone door in front of him—unchanged for many years, and due to various environmental changes, it no longer looked like it did when he left.

“Why won’t it open? Why can’t I open it?” Madness tinged She Xi’s expression, whether due to the disease or the inability to open the stone door.

“Snake Father, your offspring pleads with you, please open this door that leads to our home.”

She Xi’s expression grew increasingly unhinged. He knew the Snake-men of You Si were still thriving, having conquered death and aging, possessed immense power, and as long as he could bring back reinforcements, he could rise again.

As for the Barbarians and other tribes? He didn’t even consider them worthy of attention—just a pack of desperate strays.

Yet, his pleas were met with no response, causing She Xi to slowly calm down in the darkness.

There was no leaving; he had to return to the land of You Si. Otherwise, how could he avenge his entire family? When unable to tell apart reality from illusion, he could still hear his wife and children wailing in his ears, their skin flayed, muscles stripped, even their souls steeped and simmered in their blood.

This would be eternal torment.

In the darkness, the madness didn’t dissipate but rather seeped deeper into his bones, permeating his being from a physical to a psychological level.

An 8th-tier Spirit Monster struck, injuring She Xi, who was also of the 8th tier, which was naturally no problem for it. Had the uninjured and peak-condition She Xi wanted to rid himself of the vast unknown diseases afflicting him, it wouldn’t have been easy, but it wouldn’t have been difficult. However, the grievously injured him couldn’t manage at all.

All he could do was watch as the disease took root in his body, eliciting even more horrific madness and suppressing his various abilities like regeneration and self-healing.

Otherwise, his spinal bone would have already healed, and he wouldn’t be in this situation.

As time ticked away second by second, the madness that appeared outwardly restrained seeped deep into his soul, seemingly normal but at any moment liable to spiral out of control, and if it did, the consequences would be terrifying.

The stone door slowly opened, and a hunched shadow of a Snake-man stepped out.

“She Xi, you have failed.”

“I have failed, but I am not content… Father!” She Xi cried out in anguish.

Looking at the crippled She Xi, the old Snake-man sighed, “You have disappointed the Snake Father’s favoritism. I know you are not content, but what next?”

“I am following the Snake Father’s command to take you home.”

The old Snake-man hooked She Xi with the Snake Staff in his hand and started dragging him into the stone door.

With the entry of both Snake-men, the massive stone door closed once again.

In this Underworld known as You Si, the Snake-man Clan had formed a new civilization. They worshipped the Snake Father, basing their culture on longevity, and continuously developed various… forms of art and hedonism.

Progress? What need for progress when worship of the Snake Father sufficed?

As the father of She Xi, who had lived for untold years, She Qi was the High Priest of the Snake-man Clan and touted as the Snake-man closest to the Snake Father.

Yet, She Qi could never understand why the Snake Father showed such favoritism towards this offspring. To She Qi, offspring did not hold significant value. Although the Snake-man Clan found it challenging to produce offspring, it wasn’t impossible, so he had numerous children.

When She Xi initially wanted to leave You Si to establish a wholly new kingdom on the surface, he watched with cold indifference. Nor did he stop She Xi when he chose to leave with the Wanderers.

In She Qi’s eyes, She Xi had always been a very rebellious Snake-man, but it seemed to be precisely because of this rebellion that he had earned their father’s favor. Not only was She Xi permitted to take with him an altar as a symbol of his status, but he was even allowed to take a small portion of their clansmen with him.

If She Xi had succeeded, he would most likely have become the next High Priest of the Snake-man Clan, but clearly, he failed.

“Father, I wish to…”

“No, you don’t wish, your failure is a disgrace to all of us You Si Snake-men.” She Qi interrupted She Xi, whose progeny was essentially insignificant to them, let alone a son who had left for years and was not valued. Had it not been for their father’s explicit permission, She Qi would not have bothered with She Xi, who lay outside You Si like a mud puddle.

He even suspected that She Xi had come back to seize power.

The father’s favoritism towards She Xi made She Qi very wary, so in fact, he would rather have seen She Xi die on the surface.

“The Human Clan is so powerful that it could already annihilate us You Si, and if we do not resolve this, my fate will be You Si’s fate,” She Xi said.

She Qi’s footsteps faltered, and then he said, “You have been scared out of your wits, have you? You describe our ancient slaves and blood food, using the so-called power?”

“Although I have not known the condition of those slaves and blood food on the surface from living within You Si, at least I know they are but a group of lowly servants, how could they possibly compare to us, who carry the blood of our father?”

These words were filled with disdain and arrogance. In She Qi’s eyes, how could these useless slaves they had abandoned years ago possibly pose a threat to them?

“Father, you are too arrogant, so arrogant that you are even unwilling to open your eyes and see. If the Human Clan is weak, how did I get so severely wounded? How did I end up like a mud puddle?” She Xi retorted.

“So what, as long as we don’t leave You Si, that group of slaves and blood food will never be able to break through the gates of You Si, blessed by our father,” She Qi snorted coldly, utterly unconcerned with She Xi’s claim.

If it hadn’t been for She Xi’s stubbornness, how could he have ended up in such a state?

She Xi remained silent, bowing his head. He knew that he and his father, the High Priest, had an unbreakable divide between them, and from any perspective, their characters couldn’t have been more dissimilar.

Seeing that She Xi didn’t argue back, She Qi had no further desire to continue the conversation. He knew his actions might be seen by their father as standard practice, but the more he did, the more mistakes he made. If She Xi had succeeded, he could have earned even more of their father’s favor, but what if he failed? Although their father was still watching She Xi, it was now only a fraction of his original attention.

This was the plight of the failed, but looking at She Xi’s condition, it was clear he hadn’t given up and was merely hindered by his injuries from advancing further.

“I’ve kept your snake den untouched and haven’t let any other Snake-men reside there. It’s been prepared for you. Heal your wounds over these days, stay in You Si and continue the painting you loved, and don’t go out again. The favor you squandered from our father is a blessing other Snake-men can only dream of,” She Qi finally mentioned.

However, he knew it was of no use because he saw She Xi’s dissatisfaction.

More importantly, he wanted to prevent She Xi from dragging the Snake-men of You Si into destruction. The madness born from She Xi’s dissatisfaction made him very vigilant.

“I… understand,” She Xi answered She Qi in a low voice, but whether his words were sincere She Qi did not know. Yet, he also knew that She Xi would stay put until his injuries were fully healed, instead of causing any major trouble.

At least there was time for respite.

“Good, if you understand, then heal well,” After saying this, She Qi turned and left without any delay.

She Xi watched She Qi leave, his eyes brimming with repressed madness, and a ferocious aura steamed from his body relentlessly.

“Old fool, heal, heal! How can I heal when you, as the High Priest, do not provide me with Healing, nor arrange a Doctor for me? How am I supposed to heal!” She Xi roared in a low voice, fierce like a wild beast.

“Cough~ I must recover from my injuries quickly.” Acute pain pushed She Xi to forcibly regain his senses. After reining in his madness, he knew the only way he could recover swiftly.

It was to Sacrifice to the father, to the High Priest!
