Chapter 658 -660: Suppressing Fate, The Original Zeus
“So, your server crashed again?” Hades looked at Qin Muye with some curiosity.
“No, this time it was a slightly more extreme, I resigned.” Qin Muye said very euphemistically.
“You can resign from that? I’ve never heard of such a thing.” Hades felt there definitely was something being kept from him.
The fairy tale world had now entered a tumultuous phase of reform. Not long ago, Zeus had risen above all other gods, and by now, even Chaos Chaos seemed inferior to Zeus.
At level 9, Zeus was extremely powerful, and he had suppressed the curse on him.
Though he went about his business as usual every day, ensuring he would have no younger sons.
Therefore, when Qin Muye arrived, he witnessed a confrontation between King of Gods Zeus and Chaos Chaos. After a brief exchange of blows, Zeus realized that together they could not defeat Qin Muye, so he stopped fighting and changed to a “Oh, look, it’s my dear nephew” expression and started small talk.
Qin Muye was completely astonished by the change in Zeus’s strength; it hadn’t been long, and yet he was now at level 9.
Moreover, the whole of Mount Olympus had also been elevated. And not just that, as Zeus, the Divine King, rose in status, all of the Titan Divine Race grew stronger as well.
Even the likes of Hades and Poseidon saw both their authority and power ascend.
It seemed that it was not individuals but the entire world that was growing stronger.
But now, Qin Muye didn’t rely on the fairy tale world anymore, so their growth didn’t bother him; in fact, he saw it as a good thing.
However, he could see that Zeus would likely not venture out of the world like the Gendaya Civilization or the GROX Empire; the Titan Divine Race’s dependency on the world was simply too great.
Zeus was an exception, though, since he had surpassed the realm of given authority; to put it more straightforwardly, he granted power to authority, rather than being granted power by it.
Even recreating the world, if Zeus wished, wasn’t too big of an issue.
Qin Muye knew that Zeus had almost reached the original canonical status of Zeus from Ancient Greece, and not even gods like Hades and Poseidon could threaten his position anymore.
It’s highly likely that once he resolves the curse that his younger son will kill him, he will completely transition from polytheism to monotheism and position himself against Christianity’s God.
After all, there’s no corresponding scenario in the Greek fairy tales from Qin Muye’s previous life; they just collapsed mid-way. If Zeus could really transition successfully… maybe it would last a while longer?
At that time, God was indeed formidable, and Greece might not have withstood the challenge.
“You can, but resigning is a bit more difficult.” Qin Muye answered Hades’s question seriously.
Qin Muye naturally had a deep understanding of how to resign from the “Lord Era”; probably he was the only person who had accomplished it, while other Lords were still struggling at level 7.
Of course, people like the True Dragon Emperor might have reached level 8, but what did that matter?
“Okay, but if you resigned, how did you come here? I remember you had to use the Super Space-Time Transmission Channel before, and what about your territory? It wasn’t reclaimed, was it?”
“Most importantly, how long do you plan to stay? You’re not planning to live off your family, right? Let me tell you, you can’t inherit my position as Hades, don’t even think about killing me off to take over.”
Hades appeared quite disdainful, believing that with Qin Muye’s level of filial piety, if he really added freeloading to it, he would definitely try to usurp his position as Hades.
But the problem was Hades’s status came from his authority, and it wasn’t possible to inherit his position just by dethroning him.
And Qin Muye replied with a facepalm, “Do I look like that kind of person? Besides, I covet your position as Hades? I might consider it if it were Zeus’s position as King of the Gods.”
He had become the Abyss Will, possessing a true Endless Abyss world; how could he possibly covet that mere trifle of yours?
“So, are you aiming for Zeus’s position now? I don’t think you can beat Zeus, he has already freed himself from the constraints of fate.” Hades’s voice was laden with solemnity.
“I’ve known about this for a while now. I’ve crossed paths with him before, and he is indeed very strong. So, don’t mess with him if you can help it; it would be best to just close the Netherworld and prevent him from entering. Otherwise, by the time I come to save you, you might have already taken a beating,” Qin Muye said seriously.
If it was the Zeus of the past, he would indeed come over to beat up Hades to flaunt his martial prowess, but the current Zeus is probably busy trying to take his power to the next level.
“…” Hades was speechless, but he thought Qin Muye made a lot of sense. He knew all too well what kind of character Zeus was.
In any case, it was better to be cautious. Previously, he hadn’t expected this matter to arise.
However, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise, at least Zeus wouldn’t deal a mortal blow to him and Poseidon, since they posed no real threat to Zeus.
Because they were no longer on the same level, and moreover, as brothers, naturally, as long as there were no conflicts of interest, there wouldn’t be much discord between them.
“So how long exactly do you plan to stay?” Hades asked again.
He had realized that Qin Muye was exceptionally strong, and the aura he exuded wasn’t good for the Netherworld, or even the whole world. A long stay could cause trouble. A month or two might be fine, but any longer than that, and he would have to send him away.
As the ruler of the Netherworld, he had to take responsibility for the life and death of the entire Netherworld and the mortal world, not just for personal gain. The power granted to him also came with duties; he couldn’t afford to be negligent when it came to major issues.
“Fifteen days, I guess. I mainly came to get used to my own power, which wasn’t quite suitable in the world I was previously in; there were too many calamities. Unlike here, where we only have Zeus as the calamity,” Qin Muye estimated the time before speaking candidly.
“Hmm, that’s reasonable. It’s not that I want to send you away, but you know what your own situation is like. If you stay for too long, it could cause irreversible damage to our world,” Hades also spoke up to explain, sometimes everyone knows what’s going on, but misunderstandings can arise if nobody talks about it.
“Development is still not so great, huh? You know, in the last world I was in, I was imprisoned for twenty-two years and suppressed underground. If it weren’t for my slick maneuvers, I might have not been able to return,” Qin Muye immediately started warping the facts.
Luckily, Hades didn’t believe a word of it.
After chit-chatting for a while longer, Hades said with a sense of ‘as long as you’re happy,’ before he excused himself to tend to his business. He said Qin Muye could look for Persephone if he needed anything, and if Qin Muye really had nothing better to do, he could cover for his sister’s duties for half a month.
As for this offer, Qin Muye said he was very busy and absolutely wouldn’t take over the shift. That was a job for 007, not something just anyone could handle.
He then went to the side hall of the Netherworld Palace to plan for his own subsequent strategies.
“Considering the current situation, my state is roughly equal to that of the Cosmic Will and the Shining Universe in their prime, but there are still deficiencies.”
Qin Muye knew that although he had become the Abyss Will, there were still flaws.
“My current situation allows me to control the Endless Abyss, so next I need to fully integrate the Endless Abyss with myself.”
The current state of affairs was such that he was a part of the Endless Abyss, but what Qin Muye needed to do was to make the Endless Abyss a part of him, meaning to become the world, rather than the Abyss itself.
This matter of primary and secondary importance must not be confused, similar to why the Cosmic Will had failed in the past; it was because of a reversal of priorities.
So his plan was simple; he wanted to completely become the Endless Abyss, not the other way around, where the Abyss Will was part of the Endless Abyss.
“It won’t be easy, but the rewards are immense. Once completed, my strength will likely belong to the topmost tier, at level 9.”
“At that time, I can complete it in the world arranged by the ‘Lord Era,’ a fairy tale world isn’t fit for this purpose.”
A fairy tale world such as an 8th-tier world producing two 9th-tier entities had already reached a saturation point; it was doubtful that other members of the Titan Divine Race could take it a step further on this foundation.
A typical 8th-tier world with one 9th-tier entity is already quite remarkable. Qin Muye should not expect to complete his project in this world.
“The difficulty I’m facing is much less than that of the Cosmic Will back then. After all, the Endless Abyss was crafted by my own hands, whereas the Cosmic Will came from the Shining Universe. The inherent relationship and hierarchy between the two are different than between me and the Endless Abyss.”
If it were a matter of using an original world, the difficulty would certainly be greater than with the Endless Abyss. After all, he built the Endless Abyss from nothing, step by step with resources from various worlds. One could even say Qin Muye understood the Endless Abyss better than the abyss itself.
