‘I wonder if Transcendents of the 8th rank have noticed these problems.’

‘Tsk, to lose hair at such a young age, he’s really skipped ahead a few decades of detours.’ Qin Muye looked at a young man nearby who was so excited he had gone bald, wondering what he would do in the future.

“Don’t like it much, you eat it yourself,” Qin Muye savored the taste, which was truly unbearable, so he flatly refused.

“The fight has started… What’s this all about?” Back on the Hometown, Qin Muye was dumbstruck. How long had they been in the Unknown Star Domain? Probably not even an hour altogether.

“Wait, how did it rot this fast?” Qin Muye couldn’t help but be shocked, as he smelled the stench of decay on himself.

“Right, do you want to take a look too?” Casually, Qin Muye peeled off a layer of facial skin, which looked very intact. He’d just felt a bit of itchiness and wanted to give it a try.

“By the way, are you feeling anything right now?” Qin Muye asked out of curiosity.

“Hmm, right, I don’t like sweets.” Qin Muye glanced at the decaying food, feeling this had nothing to do with being a sweet or savory fan but that he just plainly didn’t have a taste for rot.

“Feeling? What feeling?” Zhou Lin turned his head to ask.

“It’s okay, just makes me feel a bit sleepy,” Zhou Lin remarked.

“He Wu, have you come to watch the performance too?” A slightly deep voice came from Zhou Lin, who had a drink in his left hand and seemed to be holding some kind of snack in his right.

“It seems that the newly born prototypes of life forms of Death that emerged from battling the Star Gods must be all the life forms on the Hometown.”

“Cough… Any discomfort in your face or something?” Qin Muye inquired.

“So what should I do next? Given the situation, it doesn’t seem like something I can interfere with, right? Might as well just blow myself up?”

“Oh, I was just asking casually; I didn’t touch anything,” Qin Muye realized he wasn’t going to get any meaningful answers and dropped the matter.

“To be honest, I suspect I’m more likely to die from being unable to adapt to this bizarre situation than from not being human.”

“I remember there was supposed to be a comforting performance today, not far from here,” Qin Muye said as he dragged his increasingly decaying body towards the outside.

“What about something savory? Want to try?” Zhou Lin pulled out another handful.

“Want some?” As he spoke, the other person pulled out a snack from his embrace.

“The more I watch, the more horrifying it gets. I fear the comfort performance site might be even more explosive,” Qin Muye scratched his face and easily tore off a large chunk of flesh.

“Tsk, don’t tell me this dying world intends to live a second life through Death.”

Forget the 7th rank avatars, even Transcendents of the 8th rank wouldn’t be able to withstand such force. It was just a matter of whether they would rot sooner or later.

Either situation was extremely unfriendly to Qin Muye.

But there’s a bright side; from now on, when people compliment him, they can definitely say “brilliant,” saving the trouble of having to awkwardly remark on how he’s grown taller.

If he could discern any problem, he wouldn’t be saying this.

But the blood oozing continuously from his body contaminated both kinds of food.

Of course, those truly shocked are the ones in the audience watching the performance; in their excitement, they might scrape off their scalp.

He still had a very clear understanding of himself.

And within the Hometown, he hadn’t sensed anything wrong other than the ongoing decay.

Zhou Lin, on the other hand, looked even more bizarre, with pitted and uneven flesh on his face, eyes with visible innards, his body mostly exposing bone, and rotting viscera clearly visible, yet he seemed completely unaware of it.

Not only were living creatures decaying, but the entire Hometown was also deteriorating.

The original inhabitants of Hometown should not truly die, but instead maintain a state similar to the Undead, he did not know what this Unknown Star Domain actually wanted to do.

Or perhaps they had discovered it, but in their consciousness, it was just common sense and not seen as something strange.

As a result, so many things had happened inside and out that even he was caught off guard.

It was just like how all known life forms and artificial intelligences in every known Star Domain had once overlooked the existence of the Unknown Star Domain; it was a manipulation of their common sense.

But it was different for the people on Hometown; they seemed to have become a different species, and they didn’t have any problems at all.

Qin Muye, who had come here, was also affected, his body rotting faster and faster, to the point his abdomen had even burst open. He could even reach in and touch his own organs, uncertain whether he could find the sweet snack he ate earlier in his stomach or his lungs.

The snack had decayed to the point of emitting a strong stench; if a normal person ate it, they would need to be rushed to the hospital, but Zhou Lin ate it with great relish.

Along the way, he saw many bizarre sights, such as chunks of rotting flesh falling off while walking, or someone pulling out a large piece of flesh with bone from their clothes, cleaning the meat off the bone before fitting it back in—a bizarre maneuver.

Qin Muye couldn’t help but laugh, then he didn’t think too much and continued towards the consolation performance.

Qin Muye suspected that the artificial intelligence had also broken down; any attempts by the Mechanic to repair it were likely to backfire, as everyone’s common sense had undergone irreversible changes.

Qin Muye casually took it, then stuffed it into his mouth, chewing. After all, it wasn’t his body, it was He Wu’s body. Eating it shouldn’t be a big issue, for he knew the internal organs had long been a mess, with this one bite, he couldn’t tell whether it entered the stomach or the lungs.

Qin Muye looked up and saw, to a backdrop of music, people on stage hopping and jumping, occasionally spewing chunks of flesh and internal organs, which looked quite shocking.

Qin Muye wondered if it was worth staying here to gather intelligence. What sort of intelligence could be gathered here, the progress of decay? What was there to collect about it, it would probably be days before any sort of news.

Qin Muye, with a deadpan expression, “No thanks, I’m not hungry. How’s the performance?”

Qin Muye stepped out of the Library, the faint smell of decay mingling with silence.

Upon looking at his hands, they had turned into white bones, the blood and filth staining the ground, yet surrounding people acted as if they heard nothing; they had long passed through this process, and thus showed no surprise at all.

Who would guess what a dead person wants to do, let alone the corpse of a dead world?

The dead world rising from the grave—what could he do about that? Indeed, there were extraterrestrial species that resembled cats within, but they were unrelated to cats, superficially similar at most. It couldn’t possibly be because of this minor detail that they came back to life.

Therefore, Qin Muye suspected that even if the flesh and internal organs on one’s body completely decayed, one might actually not die but continue existing in a form similar to the Undead. However, it wasn’t the true Undead as such beings are sustained by negative energy or the Power of Death.

He tried to examine himself; the sense of pain was still there, his Superpower was intact, but it was the uncontrollable decay that was the problem.

His body was not really his own; in fact, it was He Wu’s, and he himself was merely parasitically residing in He Wu’s body by means of the Wise Man’s Book Shadow.

All the way, he was collecting various data and feeding it back to his real body, but the efficiency and transmission power were getting lower and lower because he too was slowly decomposing.

The robots nearby were already immobilized; unlike living creatures that can decay bit by bit without much issue, once the robots’ chips started rusting or became damaged, it was a disaster. This situation couldn’t be isolated to just one chip or device; it was comprehensive.

So, it was He Wu’s body that was rotting away. His Shadow Equipment was still relatively intact since it was protected by the power of his real form. But he could only endure a little longer; compared to a world, he was still far too insignificant.

Here, due to the large number of people gathered, the decay was even more terrifying, which caused the locals to rot even faster.

This decay was quite peculiar; there was no sensation at all, as if there were no changes, yet one could sharply notice the issues with oneself.

Zhou Lin, witnessing this, showed little expression but seemed somewhat regretful, “That’s too bad. I thought it tasted quite good. It seems you’re not into sweets.”

Zhou Lin touched his face, pulling off a large piece of skin, “Oh no, did I get something on my face?”

Walking down the street, Qin Muye saw many people more severely decayed than he was, with much flesh fallen off their bodies, yet these people were completely unaware of this fact.
