Chapter 751: Mister Huo Spits Blood Again, Little Crown Prince Huo Cries
Chapter 751: Chapter 751: Mister Huo Spits Blood Again, Little Crown Prince Huo Cries
Although the Lei Family is considered a minor aristocratic family, it is an existence that cannot be compared with wealthy businessmen of the commercial world.
This family has long established its roots in Capital City, which is something that money cannot measure.
For Lei Ning to offer allegiance to Qin Ruan on behalf of the Lei Family is no small matter.
Qin Ruan’s heart is not as peaceful as it appears on the surface.
This is the first time, since she became Madam Huo, that she has received an olive branch of allegiance from another family.
Towards accepting or not, she is temporarily undecided.
Lei Ning’s attitude is very serious, forcing Qin Ruan to also take it seriously.
She paused for a moment and then said softly, "I need some time to consider."
Lei Ning slightly bowed, expressing his submission, "I hope that by the time we meet again, Madam could give me an answer. The Lei Family will not let you down."
Qin Ruan gave him a deep look, dignifiedly nodded, and turned to leave.
Lei Ning personally accompanied her and Song Qing to the elevator.
As the elevator doors closed, his tense posture quickly deflated.
This was a fallback plan he came up with for the Lei Family.
Qin Ruan’s current status, her mysterious abilities, and her icy yet caring friendship with Ling Xiaoxuan compelled Lei Ning not to let go of this opportunity.
If the Lei Family wanted to reach greater heights, to survive under the scrutiny of the four big families and six aristocratic families in Capital City, they must pledge allegiance to one.
No matter how a minor aristocratic family might feel superior to rich businessmen, they would still have to rely on a powerful family to survive.
Although the Huo Family is the top established family in Capital City, dominating over the other three major families and the six aristocratic families, Lei Ning didn’t choose to pledge allegiance to the Huo Family.
He placed a bet, risking the entire glory of the Lei Family on Qin Ruan.
Lei Ning sincerely believed that this young woman, who behaved maturely and sensibly, would not let him down.
Lei Ning, resting against the wall, took deep breaths.
He had seized the opportunity, now it was time to see if the Lei Family would also be honored.
Qin Ruan who was part of the Huo Family, being the first powerful matron in Capital City, would definitely bring the Lei Family to new heights by having been the first to submit to her power.
Qin Ruan, despite leaving the Huo Family, was an undustable pearl that would certainly shine one day.
If the Lei Family pledged loyalty to her, there would be no loss, they would share in both honor and disgrace.
...
Huo Mansion.
Huo Yunjiao, who was in the nursery playing with Huo Yao and Huo Anqi, suddenly spat out blood.
The vivid red color of the blood was sprayed onto Huo Yao’s baby blanket.
"Master!"
The sight scared the maid, whose face turned pale.
She quickly left the milk bottle she was holding and ran to Huo Yunjiao’s side.
"Bah..."
A drop of blood from the master was splattered on Huo Yao’s little face.
The little one, oblivious to the blood on his face, left his toy and crawled quickly towards his father.
He stretched out his chubby, soft little hand to hook his father’s fingers.
Huo Yunjiao’s elegant face turned pale, he lifted his hand to cover his mouth, swiftly stood up and moved away from his elder son.
The maid stood beside him, her face tense, "Master, I will get the doctor immediately. Please sit down."
Huo Yunjiao lowered his head, meeting the eager eyes of Huo Yao and Huo Anqi.
His voice was a little hoarse, he told the maid, "No need to worry about me, clean Ayao’s bed, take good care of both of the children."
The two little ones seemed to sense that something bad had happened, their eyes were fixed on him.
What were supposed to be pure and innocent eyes of children, instead revealed obvious worry.
Huo Yunjiao took the handkerchief handed by the maid, wiped the blood at the corner of his mouth, and also cleaned the blood off his hands.
It was only when his hands appeared to be clean that he dared to touch Huo Yao and Huo Anqi.
His voice gentle, full of a fatherly love, "Daddy is fine, you two continue to play, be good."
Huo Anqi stretched out his little hand and gripped his grandfather’s finger, his chubby white hand was just right to hold that finger.
Huo Yunjiao moved his hand from Huo Yao’s face, intending to loosen Huo Anqi’s grip on his hand.
The sight of this made the Crown Prince cry.
He was truly crying.
Since his birth, Huo Anqi had never shed tears.
Now, his dark eyes much like those of his grandfather, were filled with large drops of tears, silently rolling down.
He had a good grip on his father’s hand all the while, showing just how much strength he was using for such a delicate age.
Huo Yao was also leaning on his father’s leg, looking up at him with eyes full of anticipation.
The maid quickly cleaned the blood-stained blanket and the soiled toys in the nursery.
She cautiously approached the father and his sons, "Master, are you sure you don’t need the doctor?"
Master Huo lowered his gaze to look at the Buddhist beads on his wrist.
The beads, originally dull in colour, now seemed even darker and lacked any semblance of lustre.
He shook his head gently, "No need, don’t tell anyone about this."
The servant looked worried, "Even Madam should not be informed?"
Master Huo raised his eyes, his line of sight somber and deep.
The servant instinctively shrank back and respectfully said, "I understand."
"Wah..."
The young Crown Prince Huo seemed dissatisfied that his father wasn’t paying attention to him and made baby noises.
Master Huo hugged him, a gentle smile spreading across his otherwise solemn face, "Good boy, Daddy is fine, continue playing with your brother?"
He tried to put his youngest son down, but Huo Anqi clung tightly onto his clothes.
A suppressed cough in his throat threatened to break free, forcing Master Huo to put on a stern face.
"Anqi, be good. Daddy has some work to do and I’ll come play with you later."
The young Prince, aware of his environment since birth, was not easy to trick.
The little boy stopped crying, his black eyes fixed on his father, showing both sympathy and sorrow.
Under the intense scrutiny of his son’s dark eyes, Master Huo felt slightly guilty.
He was unaware of the ominous black energy surrounding his son, Huo Anqi’s aura was far more intense than his own.
The young Prince’s evil energy spread wildly, swiftly filling the large nursery with a chilling aura.
The servant felt a cold draft, instinctively reaching for her sleeves. Her gaze shifted towards the room’s window, feeling as though there was a leak letting in a draft.
Master Huo too noticed this subtle change.
His deep eyes casually focused on his youngest son.
Unseeingly, he exerted an indescribable aura, subtly emitting a faint dominating coldness.
Huo Yao sensed something was wrong and reached out a small hand towards his brother, making baby noises.
The young Prince was startled, his ominous aura faded, and his dark gaze became as clear and bewildered as a child’s should be.
Master Huo gently lifted the corners of his lips, this time easily prying open the tiny hand that clung to his clothes.
He placed the little one on the bed, stood up and looked down from a superior position at his two extraordinary sons.
Huo Yao held his brother’s hand, slowly moving back.
Looking up at his father with an innocent face, he made a baby noise, "Wah..."
Although sounding like a baby, his pretend naivety was very much like his mother’s, like a crafty little fox.
Master Huo’s stern face softened in front of his sons, he leaned over to touch their cheeks, laughing softly, "Behave, I’ll come to play with you later."
Having said that, he turned around to leave.
The two children sitting on the infant bed watched their father leave, their pretend innocence now gone.
Their little faces were tense, their expressions solemn. They were just babies that could only crawl and sit, yet they held expressions as serious as adults.
After Master Huo left, there were only two children and a servant left in the nursery.
Huo Yao let go of Huo Anqi’s hand and rolled his eyes at him.
Opening his mouth, he shouted at his brother in baby noises, "Ah!"
Huo Anqi didn’t spare him a glance, still staring in the direction his father had left.
Huo Yao had had enough and kicked his brother.
Huo Anqi was knocked flat onto the bed without warning, looking quite embarrassed.
Lying down like a frog, he turned his head and glared angrily at his brother.
Huo Yao tried to pull out a proud smile; however, his lips curled into a cute and adorable smile, which made people want to play with him.
Huo Anqi pursed his lips, getting up from the bed. He crawled to Hyo Yao and raised his hand to hit him.
Seeing that the two young masters were about to start fighting again, the servant hurriedly stepped in to separate them.
She held Huo Anqi away from the infant bed, mumbling, "Both young masters, please stop fighting. The Madame will be back soon. If the Madame finds out you are fighting, Master Huo will be upset..."
The two separated brothers seemed not to hear the servant’s dissuasion, each yelling at each other from afar.
Huo Yao sat on the infant bed, opening his mouth at his brother, "Ah!"
Come on, hit me!
Huo Anqi kept a stern face, "Wah!"
Shameless! You just wait!
Huo Yao got angry too, "Ah, ah!"
You little git, I’m your brother!
In the middle of the room, Huo Anqi swung his fist at his brother, "Wah, wah, wah, wah!!"
Get lost! If it weren’t for your trickery, I would have been born first!
Huo Yao laughed adorably and looked up at his younger brother smugly, as if saying that he was too old to quarrel with him.
It made Huo Anqi, who was held in the servant’s arms, furious.
He flailed about, wanting to challenge Huo Yao.
Seeing the day’s chaos, the servant put Huo Anqi in the stroller.
The bed sheet stained with Master Huo’s blood and the bloody toy hadn’t been dealt with yet.
She carried the things and left the room to deal with them in the next room.
Unknown to her, the two princes left behind in the nursery got out, one climbing out of the infant bed and the other landing softly on the rug.
Sight of each other further fuelled their animosity and they started to fight again.
"Ah!"
"Wah!"
After a quick wash, Master Huo pushed open the door of the nursery, only to find his two sons fighting furiously on the carpet.
