Chapter 745: Chapter 745: Master Huo: You are my one and only Mrs. Huo

Huo Yunjiao’s beautiful finger lightly scratched at Qin Ruan’s nose tip.

He smiled and asked, "What are you thinking? You look very serious."

Qin Ruan looked up at the man in front of her, her delicate and pretty face having lost its flush, the previous helplessness face in front of Grandpa San also gone.

Her expression returned to its usual indifference and calm.

Returning to her senses, her mind cleared.

Some things, once unraveled, follow a certain thread and quickly lead to their source.

Qin Ruan narrowed her eyes, her beautiful eyebrows slightly furrowed, "Grandpa San, you planned this."

Their previous conversation in the study, regarding health issues and what lay behind them, had all been diverted by Grandpa San’s light-hearted humor.

With no change in his elegant demeanor, Huo Yunjiao stroked Qin Ruan’s head, coaxing her gently, "You worry too much."

Having said that, he turned and left.

From Qin Ruan’s perspective, this was clearly avoidance.

She quickly followed him, and together they returned to the study.

Grandpa San, who sat at the desk, picked up a few documents and handed them to Qin Ruan who had walked to the desk.

His peach blossom eyes filled with tender feelings, looking at Qin Ruan, he said, "Sign above."

Qin Ruan casually flipped through the document on top, when she saw what was written, her expression turned furious.

It was a share transfer agreement for HEA Group.

Once she signed it, all of the shares belonging to Grandpa San would be transferred to her.

With resentment in her heart, Qin Ruan read through the rest of the documents.

They were all various property transfer agreements under Grandpa San’s name.

"Bang!"

Qin Ruan slammed the documents on the table.

Her eyes, aflame with anger, stared straight at the man in front of her.

"I don’t want these things!"

If it were anyone else, tossing things in front of Grandpa San would have already caused him to lose his temper.

However, the person acting up was Qin Ruan, so he could only soothe her softly: "Ruanruan, be a good girl. This is for you and the baby."

"If you’re around, there’s no need to distinguish between yours and mine. The baby and I don’t need it!"

Qin Ruan declined firmly, leaving no room for negotiation.

She wouldn’t sign the damn transfer agreement.

Huo Yunjiao, touching the dim Buddha beads on his wrist, his drooping eyes cold and sharp.

This displeasure was not directed at Qin Ruan, but towards the things not going as he had planned.

Qin Ruan walked around the desk and sped to Grandpa San’s side.

Perched on the desk, she roughed reached out his hand.

A thread of the Nether Divine Power welled up in her palm, and transferred into Grandpa San’s body through their linked palms, at a slow pace.

Huo Yunjiao tried to pull his arm back, refusing to accept the unknown power that Qin Ruan was channeling.

But Qin Ruan’s grip was too strong, and he could not get away.

Qin Ruan pursed her lips, her eyes downcast, she looked unhappy.

Huo Yunjiao sighed, "Ruanruan, it’s pointless."

Qin Ruan flicked a look at him, "You say it’s pointless, so it’s pointless?"

The Underworld King said that she needed to collect a lot of Evil Qi to save Grandpa San.

She believed that the Underworld King who was exploiting her wouldn’t deceive her on this matter.

Qin Ruan activated the Heavenly Eye, her beautiful eyes sparkling with gold.

She gazed seriously at the purple energy and black Evil Energy on Grandpa San’s body.

They were still intertwined, unclear.

However, there was a change to it. The black Evil energy was stronger than before.

When she thought about the rumors outside about Grandpa San’s life nearing its end, Qin Ruan’s heart began to ache.

She couldn’t stand the people discussing the matter of Grandpa San’s life and death, and it was distressing to think that they were using this as a topic of conversation.

The study fell into silence.

Qin Ruan broke the silence, "Grandpa San, do you know? I met someone today."

Her voice was soft, not as if she was trying to have a heart-to-heart with Grandpa San, but more like someone to confide in.

Huo Yunjiao propped up his forehead with one hand, turned his head to look at Qin Ruan, but didn’t speak or interrupt.

Qin Ruan gathered her courage and continued, "Someone told me they were reincarnated..."

Huo Yunjiao immediately interrupted, "Impossible!"

Qin Ruan intended to tell Grandpa San about Ling Xiaoxuan and Ling Zeheng’s past lives and their unresolved feelings.

But before she could finish, she was interrupted.

She looked at him in surprise, looking at the strong determination on his face.

Huo Yunjiao rubbed his temple and said seriously to Qin Ruan, "Ruanruan, there is no such thing as reincarnation in life."

His tone was firm and convincing, inspiring an inexplicable sense of credibility.

Qin Ruan frowned, unable to agree, "Why wouldn’t there be?"

Huo Yunjiao could not explain why, but hearing the phrase ’life starts over’ a deep consciousness in his mind told him that rebirth was absolutely impossible.

He couldn’t answer Qin Ruan’s question, as it was a powerful awareness ingrained in his soul.

Qin Ruan had thought about the day when she would divulge to him her rebirth.

She had considered many possible reactions.

However, she had not expected his reaction to the concept of rebirth to be so... vehemently opposed.

He did not believe that life could cycle again.

Qin Ruan slowly lowered her head, her courage to confess completely shattered by this revelation.

Her mood sagged slightly, but she never stopped transferring the Nether Power into him.

Those past events and the matter of her rebirth didn’t matter much whether they were shared or not.

In this life, they hadn’t lost their child and they were still together - that was good enough.

"Cough, cough..."

A coughing sound echoed.

Huo Yunjiao covered his mouth, unable to suppress the urge to cough he had been fighting.

Fortunately, this time there was no blood.

Qin Ruan’s fair and cold face tightened with worry, "Are you alright?"

"I’m fine," Huo Yunjiao waved his hand. His eyes fixed on Qin Ruan and suddenly he asked, "How much did you hear outside the study?"

Qin Ruan understood that he was asking about what she had heard when she had returned, outside the study, his conversation with Huo Yirong.

She honestly answered, "You said that when you were young you also had things you were unwilling to accept."

A pleasing laugh echoed in the room. Huo Yunjiao gently squeezed Qin Ruan’s hand, "Ruanruan, I don’t have much to offer because of my weak constitution. If I have to leave one day, I hope to have settled down both you and the child, ensuring that you won’t be worried or bullied. Then I could rest easy."

Qin Ruan gripped his hand tightly.

Her hand was shaking as she said solemnly, "I will not let that day come," her voice missing its usual tranquility.

Huo Yunjiao’s gaze fell on the Buddha bead on his wrist and he said, almost despairingly, "Girl, some things are simply beyond our control."

The death of one’s companion-signified that his life was also nearing its end.

"I don’t believe in fate! I only know that I won’t allow it!"

The golden light in Qin Ruan’s eyes dispersed, and she halted the transfer of Nether Power, quickly pressing her hand over his heart.

"Since we are married and have a child, this life will certainly be guided by my strength, ensuring you live out your natural lifespan."

Her voice was hoarse and deep, barely hiding her sorrow.

Her resolute voice echoed in the study, rippling ceaselessly in his heart.

It sounded a bit naive.

Everyone’s life has a predestined lifecycle, with death awaiting all. Nobody can be spared.

He was just not very lucky, his death would likely come much earlier than most people’s.

He laughed nonchalantly to change the subject, "Ruanruan, your birthday is coming up in a few days, are there any friends you would like to invite?"

This shift of conversation was rather amateurish. Qin Ruan saw through it and didn’t play along.

Her clear eyes dimmed, her long eyelashes quivering slightly, her eyes filled with sadness.

Qin Ruan spoke softly, "I have something I want to tell you."

"Hmm?" Huo Yunjiao responded with a curious hum.

Qin Ruan: "I am very pleased and grateful to have met you, and for you being a part of my life."

The smile on Huo Yunjiao’s face faded, an intelligent glint appearing in his eyes.

He was always reluctant to discuss the heavy topic of death with Qin Ruan.

She was still too young, her mature actions belying her young and immature psyche.

But this girl knew exactly how to hit him where it hurt.

Without a grand confession typical of young people, hers was a plain expression of gratitude, one of heartfelt sincerity.

Because of Qin Ruan’s words, his heart had truly softened.

His thin lips slightly pursed, he quickly stood up, pulling Qin Ruan into his arms.

With her in his embrace, Huo Yunjiao nuzzled her hair, sighing slightly, "Why can’t you be a little more carefree, just like other kids?"

Feeling wronged, Qin Ruan retorted softly, in a rather emotional tone, "I’m not a child, I’m your wife, and mother to Huo Yao and Huo Anqi."

This time, she hated being referred to as a child.

Huo Yunjiao looked at her fondly, whispering reassurances in her ear, "Whether Ruanruan is a child, I am the one who knows that best. Otherwise, where would Huo Yao and Anqi have come from?"

Qin Ruan was left flustered by his teasing, wishing she could shrink into a hole instantly.

"You’re my wife, the one and only Mrs. Huo."

The whisper of his warm and gentle tone sounded ticklish to her ear.

Qin Ruan felt all warm and fuzzy, struggling to pull away from the increasingly heated embrace.

Huo Yunjiao’s strong and steady arms tightly held her, refusing to let her escape.
