Chapter 732: Qin Ruan: Brother Rong, you will thank me in the future

Chapter 732: Chapter 732: Qin Ruan: Brother Rong, you will thank me in the future

After Huo Zhi and Song Qing left, Master Huo’s brows knitted as he asked, shockingly, "Did she bed you?"

Huo Yirong’s eyes widened in surprise, "How could that be possible!"

His lips twitched, displaying a you-must-be-kidding expression.

Master Huo looked puzzled, "Then how did she emerge from your chamber this morning?"

Thinking back on the memories from last night, Huo Yirong had mixed feelings of discomfort that he didn’t usually show in front of others.

After a long silence, Huo Yirong explained harshly, "She took care of me after I was intoxicated by the Fu family."

Beyond his own disbelief, both Master Huo and Qin Ruan, who had been listening, also found it hard to believe his account.

Master Huo retorted sarcastically, "She took care of you overnight? Are you trying to kill her?"

Huo Yirong, fully aware of the misunderstanding, extended his hand to pinch Huo Yao’s little cheek.

With a sarcastic laugh he said, "Song Qing is from the Song family. This year she turned twenty-six, she’s not an agent we raised from childhood. She should have left at the age of twenty-five.

She comes from a minor house and after leaving the Huo family she deserves to be addressed as Miss Song. When I kindly asked her to go, do you know what her response was?"

Pretty clear it was a misunderstanding, Master Huo’s face brightened, "What did she say?"

Huo Yirong revealed a cold smile, "That woman said she wants to live in the Huo family forever!"

Master Huo raised an eyebrow, "Her exact words?"

He didn’t believe that was her exact response.

Huo Yirong thought to himself that those weren’t her exact words, but her implication was close enough.

What really made him angry was Song Qing’s defiance of his words.

Unwilling to elaborate further, Huo Yirong silently continued to pinch Huo Yao’s little cheek.

Song Qing was from the Song family, a minor aristocratic family in Capital City, they had a bit of status at the edge of the circle.

There were many small aristocratic families like the Song family who were affiliated with the Huo family. In order to express their loyalty to the Huo family, they would present their children to the Huo family.

If the children proved to be elite, the Huo family would make a great effort to cultivate them and provide them with a way to succeed.

Song Qing, who had solid skills, was assigned to the Secret Guard Department.

People like her were placed in various positions within the Huo family, and after a certain amount of time, the Huo family would grant them their freedom.

Even after leaving, they remained loyal to the Huo family.

Master Huo’s eyes fell on a little hand coming over to his leg; looking up, he met Huo Anqi’s dark, bright eyes.

The little one’s baby-like cooing was followed by him presenting the weapon he had been playing with to Master Huo.

Master Huo took the weapon and felt its considerable weight.

Normally, a newborn child would not be able to handle something this heavy.

As a new father, Master Huo seemed to be oblivous about this.

He gently looks at his youngest son, "Done playing?"

Huo Anqi looked hopefully at his father, pointing at the ammunition lying on the table.

"Anqi, we must not touch that, it can be dangerous."

Qin Ruan walked over, hoisted baby Huo Anqi onto her lap from the couch.

She warned him about the danger, even as she took the weapon from Master Huo’s hand.

Holding Huo Anqi in one arm and the weapon in the other, she stood by the table and inserted the ammo into the weapon-facing the child.

Huo Yao, who was sitting on the couch, was absorbed in the scene.

He leaned forward with wonder and curiosity in his big eyes, watching his mother and little brother.

After Qin Ruan had reassembled the weapon into its dangerous form, she lifted Huo Anqi’s chin.

She opened her lips slightly, her voice devoid of emotional fluctuation: "Anqi, this is a gun, a very dangerous item. Mommy will show you once, and you’ll just watch. When you grow up, you’ll be allowed to touch it, but normally you should not play with it, okay?"

Huo Anqi’s eyes were still glued to the black weapon in his mother’s hand.

He seemed genuinely curious about the object.

The room fell silent, after a while, Huo Anqi locked his deep black eyes with Qin Ruan’s serene face.

His solemn little face shone with admiration as he gave a small nod.

A satisfactory smile pulled on Qin Ruan’s lips, the crisp sound of the gun’s safety being switched off echoed in the quiet hall.

The hand, delicate but evidently strong, held onto the body of the gun, her slender fingers carefully pulling the trigger.

"Bang!"

The gun popped with a shower of sparks.

Qin Ruan’s shot hit the water lily pot that Huo Yirong had pressed Song Qing against, breaking it.

The pot was destroyed, the water lily was no more, water gushed onto the carpet, soon soaking the expensive rug.

Seeing this scene, Huo Yirong’s lips twitched slightly.

He wasn’t sure if it was his imagination, but he felt like Qin Ruan was showing off her power.

He wasn’t sure if his sister had any issues with him.

A smile spread across Qin Ruan’s face as she met Huo Yirong’s probing gaze.

She implied, "Brother Yirong, believe me, you’ll thank me in the future."

Huo Yirong’s expression was one of disbelief; he didn’t think he’d end up being grateful.

Naturally, if it were anyone else, anyone daring to brandish a weapon in front of him would have ended up being thrown to the beasts in the northern courtyard for a meal.

Master Huo, knowing his second brother’s temperament, cleared his throat - "Ahem".

The moment the cough sounded, Huo Yirong shivered and a smile appeared on his face.

He squinted his cold eyes, and looked at Qin Ruan affectionately, "Sister-in-law, there is no need to worry yourself about a broken pot; if it’s shattered, so be it."

Master Huo turned around, his gaze bearing down on Huo Qiang, "Old Qiang, have it cleaned."

His tone was devoid of emotion, low and dangerous.

Qin Ruan’s finger was still on the trigger as she spun the weapon in her hand. Watching Huo Yirong’s disapproval, her smile was indescribably peculiar.

Huo Yao and Huo Anqi were awe-struck, staring wide-eyed at the scene.

They didn’t understand fully; it was just a hunk of iron, and yet it possessed such formidable power.

The two youngsters locked eyes with one another, revealing shock and curiosity that was atypical for their age.

Qin Ruan removed the ammo clip deftly and handed the weapon back to her son.

She reminded him again, "Remember what you promised Mommy."

Huo Anqi’s small hand gripped the gun and he gave a firm nod.

Master Huo called Qin Ruan over, "Ruanruan, come here."

Obeying him, Qin Ruan walked over and put her hand in his.

Master Huo gave a slight pull, and she was by his side in an instant.

The two sat close together, Master Huo lovingly putting his arm around Qin Ruan’s shoulders, half cradling her.

He leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Don’t spoil them too much."

He was referring to how Qin Ruan had catered to Huo Anqi’s curiosity earlier.

Children should act their age; they shouldn’t be allowed to witness everything they’re curious about.

Already more intelligent and extraordinary than other children, if they continued to be spoiled, it would be difficult to manage them when they grew older.

Master Huo was concerned about Qin Ruan managing their two children in the future.

Knowing their children were difficult to handle, he worried about how much trouble Huo Yao and Huo Anqi could cause for Qin Ruan if he were not around.

Qin Ruan’s eyes went wide and could not agree with this.

She objected, "I’m not spoiling them, I was clearly warning them."
