Young Master Is Being Jealous Again! -
Chapter 715: The Cute and Spoiled Huo Yao, Huo Anqi
Chapter 715: Chapter 715: The Cute and Spoiled Huo Yao, Huo Anqi
Old Mr. Huo’s hand settled atop Qin Ruan’s hand, his voice lowering slightly, "These are for the two children. As their mother, you can accept them on their behalf."
Huo Yirong also reached out, clasping Qin Ruan’s hand that held the documents.
His voice was gentle, "Ruanruan, accept what our grandfather is giving."
Under the entreaties of this grandfather-grandson duo, Qin Ruan felt the thin documents in her hand weigh as much as a fortune.
She now held 50% shares of HEA Group in her hands, which effectively granted her the ultimate decision-making power in the company.
Huo Yirong, along with his elder brother Huo Junxin and sister-in-law Long Wei returned from the medical room and saw the solemn look on Qin Ruan’s face. They laughed and teased her.
"Sister, I’ll have to work under you in the future. Can you raise my pay a bit?"
Qin Ruan’s gaze flashed toward Huo Yirong.
He smirked, "Second Brother, you should worry about fixing your marital status first. What Grandfather will give you then will be beyond any salary."
Huo Yirong paused and glanced at his grandfather’s expression.
He abruptly changed his tone, "I suddenly remember I have work at the company. I’ll leave first and come back to see my little nephews later!"
"You get back here!" Mr. Huo roared.
Preparing to flee, Huo Yirong obediently froze in place.
"That girl from the Fu Family is well-mannered and doesn’t carry any issues. What don’t you see in her?"
Huo Yirong made a pained face, a hint of discomfort in his eyes, "Grandfather, I don’t feel any spark with that woman."
Mr. Huo feigned anger, "You’re not getting any younger. It’s time you settle down. I won’t force you to find me a granddaughter-in-law immediately, but you should make an effort."
Hou Yirong inserted a hand into his pocket, grousing casually, "You’re making it sound like no one wants me."
Mr. Huo chuckled, "You’re acting as though someone wants you."
Huo Yirong became defensive, "How much do you dislike me?"
"Bring me someone who does!"
Huo Yirong pouted, falling silent.
He was worried that, in his desperation, the old man might promptly have him married off to a random woman.
Huo Junxin and Long Wei approached Qin Ruan.
The cultured and mild-mannered Long Wei, laughed to Qin Ruan, "Congratulations, sister. Both of your babies are very adorable."
Qin Ruan loved hearing compliments about her children and responded sincerely, "Thank you, sister-in-law."
Huo Junxin nodded to Huo Yunjiao, "Third Brother, there are some matters left in the cabinet. Your sister-in-law and I will leave first and come back to see the kids later."
"Okay, I’ll see you guys out." Huo Yirong stood to see them off.
As Qin Ruan was preparing to get up, he pressed her hand down, "There’s no need for you to stand, considering your physical condition. Stay and wait, I’ll be back."
Old Mr. Huo also stood up at this point, "I can’t take much more, being this old. Now that I’ve seen the kids and they’re doing well, I’ll be going."
"Father, let me assist you."
Huo Hongxing and Uncle Huo stood up, supporting Old Mr. Huo and walking towards the door.
At this, Qin Ruan could no longer remain seated.
Mr. and Mrs. Yirong sent the Huo family off.
When they returned, Huo Qiang ran anxiously out of the medical room.
"Master, Madam, the children..."
"What’s wrong with the children?"
Qin Ruan wriggled her hand free from Huo Yirong’s hold, and charged toward the medical room.
She ran swiftly, brushing past Huo Qiang who had rushed out, as her speed blew up a corner of his suit.
Yirong’s countenance darkened. He asked sternly, "What happened to the kids?"
Huo Qiang spoke in a rushed voice, "They are tossing in the incubator, as though they want to get out. They keep hitting the glass."
Hit the glass?
Such tiny, soft bodies. If they hurt themselves hitting the glass, it would be a disaster!
Huo Yirong stepped up his pace, quick-marching toward the medical room, instructing Huo Qiang as he went, "Go get Dr. Chen!"
"Yes!"
Huo Qiang halted as he was about to catch up, turning and rushing out.
Outside the sterilization room.
Qin Ruan stood by the window, staring anxiously at the two children inside who were bashing themselves against the incubator.
Yirong walked up to Qin Ruan, his hand landing on her shoulder, "The doctor has been called, don’t worry."
"They’re fine."
Qin Ruan’s lips curved into a graceful arch, the worried look on her face vanished the moment she saw the children.
Yirong looked down in surprise, "Oh?"
"They’re just finding the incubator too cramped and want to come out."
Qin Ruan’s hand landed on the window, longing to reach her children through the barrier.
The two little cherubs who had been attacking the incubator glass seemed to have heard the commotion outside. They halted their "self-torture".
They blinked their grape-like, shiny eyes at Qin Ruan and Huo Yirong who were standing outside.
Huo Yao’s playful and lively eyes rolled cutely as he waved his small fist at both of them.
"Yirong, look, he’s waving at us!"
Qin Ruan excitedly grabbed the arm of the man beside her, shaking it hard. Her voice trembled with excitement.
"I see. I see."
Yirong enveloped her in his arms, his eyes shining as he looked at the older boy in the incubator.
The little fellow sure knows how to please, winning over his mother’s heart the moment he opened his eyes.
The younger one, Huo Anqi, lying on the right, wasn’t willing to lag behind either.
He struggled to prop up his upper body in the incubator, craning his neck to look at Yirong and Qin Ruan.
His eyes, darker than Huo Yao’s, stared at them so intensely.
"Anqi is also looking at us. Do they recognize us?"
Qin Ruan, her excitement causing her fingers to dig into the fabric of Yirong’s clothes, gripped the flesh beneath his shirt.
Yirong inhaled sharply but didn’t shake her hand off. His handsome face twisted momentarily before returning to normal.
"Ruanruan, calm down."
He patted the hand Qin Ruan had clamped onto him in an offhand manner.
Realizing she was overreacting, Qin Ruan withdrew her hand sheepishly, "They’re so cute."
Just yesterday, both babies were so tiny.
It seemed they had not only grown significantly today, but they also looked remarkably intelligent, which couldn’t help but stir emotions.
After all, these were the children she had been waiting for in two lifetimes.
Seeing the new parents, Huo San and Qin Ruan, who had just been promoted to the role of parents, and witnessing the tender love displayed between them, Chen Hengfeng, who hurried to the hospital, felt as if there was no room for anyone else.
He smiled and said: "The two children look quite robust. At this rate, it won’t be long before they can be taken out of the incubator."
"How long will it take approximately?"
Grandfather Huo asked, unable to hide his anticipation.
Chen Hengfeng stood at the door, observing the two children in the room for a while, then said: "At least a week."
To both Grandfather Huo and Qin Ruan, this seemed like a short time indeed.
Their elegant faces showed faint smiles, and their eyes sparkled with unmistakable anticipation.
Within the incubator, Huo Yao and Huo Anqi, each in their own way, played adorably, but fell short of winning a hug from their parents.
Tired from the commotion, they slumped in the incubator, closed their eyes, and fell back into a sound sleep.
Huo Yunjiao said: "The children are asleep."
Qin Ruan gave a response but remained motionless where she stood.
Grandfather Huo playfully said: "You haven’t eaten anything since you woke up, you must be hungry. Go and get something to eat."
She hadn’t noticed until now, but hearing that, Qin Ruan indeed felt a little hungry.
She touched her belly, the wound wasn’t hurting anymore.
"Let’s go."
Grandfather Huo wrapped his arm around Qin Ruan and they left.
While having dinner at the dining table, Grandfather Huo asked, "Ruanruan, your father-in-law does not know that you’ve given birth yet. Do you want to let them know?"
Qin Ruan thought for a moment, then said: "I’ll tell them later."
This was quite a big matter; she shouldn’t conceal it from them.
After they finished eating, Qin Ruan took out her phone. Just as she was about to call her father, she noticed a trending news alert on her screen.
The famous actor had been injured under unknown circumstances on-set yesterday and was still in critical condition at the hospital.
Qin Ruan clicked on the news to find out more but the article was filled with speculation and lacked any substantial information.
With a flick of her fingers, she returned to her contact list and dialed her father’s number.
The call was answered in no time.
"Ruanruan?"
"Dad, it’s me."
"Why are you calling at this hour? Is everything okay?"
Usually, this was the time Qin Anguo would be resting.
Qin Ruan hardly ever called him around this time, so naturally he was worried.
"Dad, I gave birth to two boys."
Qin Ruan’s words left her father stunned for quite some time.
After a long pause, her father exploded: "Are you serious?! Weren’t you just six months pregnant? How could you have given birth already?
Which hospital are you in? How are you feeling? Your older brother isn’t home, but Amei is here. We’ll come over right away! It was such an important event. Why didn’t you mention it earlier, instead of waiting till it’s all over?"
Qin Anguo’s words were filled with worry. Qin Ruan could hear the sound of things being knocked over on his end of the phone.
She reassured him in a soothing voice: "Dad, I didn’t go to the hospital. The babies were born last night. Don’t worry."
"How can I not worry about such a big matter!"
When Qin Anguo heard that the babies had been born last night, he became even more worried and upset.
He called out loudly: "Amei! Amei! Where did that rascal run off to?"
"Meow! Meow!"
Xueqiu’s meow came from the other end of the line.
Amei’s voice soon followed: "Dad, you scared me! What’s the matter?"
Qin Anguo responded hastily: "Hurry up and get ready. Ruanruan has given birth. We need to go see her. This darned girl, she waited till everything was over to tell us about such an important event as giving birth!"
"What?! Ruanruan has given birth?!!"
Amei’s thundering yell came through the phone, causing Qin Ruan to instinctively pull the phone away from her ear for fear of damaging her eardrums.
Amei then took the phone from his father and hurriedly asked: "Ruanruan, did you really give birth?"
Qin Ruan: "Yes, I gave birth last night, the babies are all well."
"And you? Are you okay?"
Amei, despite his unawareness, knew that a baby should only be born at full term.
Even for twins, they should at least be born at eight months.
Having given birth at just over six months, it was obvious that something had gone wrong.
With her comforting and soothing voice, Qin Ruan replied: "I’m also well. It’s quite late now, so don’t rush over. You both can come over to see the babies tomorrow."
Amei: "That’s not up to me. Dad’s already getting dressed."
Qin Ruan was somewhat regretful: "If I had known, I’d have waited until tomorrow to tell you both."
Amei responded with slight sarcasm: "If you had waited until tomorrow, I bet Dad would have lost his patience."
"Be careful when you drive here."
"Got it."
After ending the call, Qin Ruan met Grandfather Huo’s teasing glance.
She shrugged her shoulders and said resignedly: "My dad and brother are coming over now."
It was clear to Huo Yunjiao that while Qin Ruan seemed calm, she was somewhat unsettled.
She was worried about her father-in-law’s reprimands.
He reached out and ruffled Qin Ruan’s hair: "Don’t worry, I’m here."
She responded faintly, barely audible.
Seeing that she was still not at ease, Grandfather Huo held her close, saying: "You’re still weak; your father-in-law dotes on you and wouldn’t want to be harsh."
With all the commotion she had created since last night, he didn’t have the heart to rebuke her, let alone her doting father and brother.
Qin Ruan blinked, somewhat skeptical.
Grandfather Huo added: "I’ll get a room ready so they can stay for the night when they arrive. That way they won’t have to rush back."
"Okay."
