Chapter 709: Chapter 709: The eldest, Huo Yao, the second, Huo Anqi, praying for peace

Champs Elysees Manor.

Qin Ruan was brought back and sent to the medical room without delay; the twins were placed in the sterile room.

Chen Hengfeng also came from the hospital and used the most precise and high-end equipment to conduct a full body checkup on Qin Ruan.

The results of the examination left him utterly surprised.

Previously, when the examination was done at the hospital, Qin Ruan’s internal organs were seriously damaged. Her twins almost died in utero because of this.

With such severe injuries, she would need extensive care for the rest of her life to prolong her lifespan.

Unexpectedly, upon reexamination, Qin Ruan’s injuries were healing at a rapid pace.

While she couldn’t be said to be as intact as before the injury, she had nearly recovered.

After hearing this news, Huo Yunjiao heaved a huge sigh of relief.

The tension on Huo Yirong’s face eased slightly. As long as Qin Ruan was okay, everything was fine.

He suggested: "Younger brother, I heard that you haven’t even glanced at the children since they were born. After all, they’re your sister’s children, born at the risk of her life. Why don’t you go see them?"

There was a rampant cold storm in the eyes of the Third Master Huo.

His eyelashes drooped slightly, his eyes half-closed, creating an illusion of calm.

"Alright."

Third Master agreed, then turned and headed for the sterile room.

The two infants lying in the incubator in the room were calm and quiet.

The moment he saw the children, Huo Yunjiao felt a tremor in his heart.

These were his children. They were born of Qin Ruan, sharing his bloodline.

His slender, jade-like fingers rested on the window glass, gently tapping towards the incubator, revealing a longing to touch them.

Deep down, he was not unexcited; yet, this happiness was greatly diminished due to Qin Ruan’s severe injuries.

Huo Yirong’s phone suddenly rang.

He pulled out the phone and saw that it was a call from his grandfather.

"Younger brother, it’s our grandfather. If he is calling me at this hour, he must have come to know about the birth of the twins."

Huo Yunjiao glanced at him: "Answer it."

His voice was flat, without any significant emotional turbulence.

Inside the medical room.

Lying on the bed in her hospital gown, Qin Ruan suddenly opened her eyes. They were filled with a dark, grim anger, and murderous intent was rampant.

Her dark pupils shifted slightly, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings.

The next moment, her hand subconsciously moved to her stomach.

It was flat; her children were gone.

The already pale complexion of Qin Ruan quickly lost its remaining color.

She swiftly rose up and set her feet on the floor barefoot.

Perhaps due to the strain on her injury, Qin Ruan’s face twisted in pain for a moment, then quickly returned to normal.

Pressing her hand on her abdominal wound, she walked out of the medical room step by step.

Even though the children had left her body, Qin Ruan could still sense their presence.

She moved laboriously, step by step, until she reached the sterile room.

The tall silhouette standing in front of the room entered Qin Ruan’s sight.

Upon seeing Third Master Huo, she inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, the children’s father was guarding them.

Qin Ruan straightened her hospital gown and feigned a normal demeanor. She took slow steps towards the sterile room.

Hearing the faint noise behind him, Huo Yunjiao quickly turned around.

His cool eyes overflowed with dissatisfaction and worry when he saw it was Qin Ruan.

"Why are you up?"

Huo Yunjiao hurried to Qin Ruan’s side, supporting her arm.

"I wanted to see the children."

With his help, Qin Ruan stood at the door of the sterile room.

Through the glass window, she clearly saw her two children lying in the incubator.

They were so small, born into this world before they were even full-term.

If not careful, they could easily perish.

Qin Ruan’s heart bled, gripped with lingering fear.

The immense panic that surfaced in the moment of the ambush by the Huangjue Tree Demon still lingered in her heart.

Even at this moment, this feeling of terror has not faded.

A surge of intense humiliation hit her and Qin Ruan’s heart started to ache intensely.

Her body was uncontrollably trembling, she was furious.

Huo Yunjiao, seeing this, wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, avoiding the wound on her abdomen.

"Are you uncomfortable? You just had surgery and need to rest, there will be plenty of opportunities to see the children in the future."

Qin Ruan shook her head weakly: "I’m fine, I just want to see the children again."

Knowing that her recovery was going well, Huo Yunjiao was still concerned, showing skepticism towards Chen Hengfeng’s words.

After all, she had just had surgery, and was greatly weakened.

No matter how well she recovered, her body was still fragile.

Qin Ruan reclined her body, relaxed in the arms of the man behind her.

Her affectionate eyes, filled with both compassion and contentment, looked at the two children in the incubator. No matter how long she looked, it was never enough.

How wonderful, they were both alive.

In Qin Ruan’s eyes was anticipation for the future.

In this life, she was finally able to protect her children.

Huo Yunjiao took out a damp strand of Qin Ruan’s hair that was sticking to her face, speaking softly, "We haven’t named the two children yet. Do you have any ideas, Ruanruan?"

"Huo Yao," Qin Ruan blurted out.

In the past life, it was the name personally given to her child by the father, Mr. Huo.

A trace of a smile surfaced on Huo Yunjiao’s lips, he spoke with deeper meaning, "Huo Yao? You kept calling out this name when you were unconscious, so you had already thought of the baby’s name so early?"

Qin Ruan didn’t speak, her eyes flushed, kept moving between the two children.

The two children looked exactly alike, but she could tell at a glance which one was Huo Yao, who had died in her womb in the former life.

The baby on the left, the one who was kicking up his small foot against the incubator glass, was the child she had failed to protect in her previous life.

Qin Ruan wiped away the tear stains at the corner of her eye and forced a smile.

Pointing to the child on the left, she told the man behind her, "This child’s name is Huo Yao, the other baby, you name him."

The light in Huo Yunjiao’s eyes shifted to the newborn in the sterile room, his smile barely perceptible.

He spoke in a low, gentle voice, "Huo Anqi, advance step by step, prays for peace."

Qin Ruan blinked, her face showing a moment of surprise before she quickly smiled and said, "Nice name, they will certainly grow up peacefully."

"They will."

Huo Yunjiao’s chin was resting on top of Qin Ruan’s head, his voice gentle, filled with affection.

Suddenly Qin Ruan started, "Master Huo..."

"Hm?" Huo Yunjiao’s voice was a little heavy, perhaps he had caught a chill from being up all night.

Qin Ruan turned around, her clear eyes moist.

She reached out to touch the wrinkle between his eyebrows.

"I’m sorry."

Before Huo Yunjiao could ask why she was apologizing, a warm sensation spread across his forehead.

Surprise flashed through his eyes, as he looked at Qin Ruan in confusion.

It took just a few seconds for Master Huo to collapse.

Qin Ruan supported his body, laid him down on the carpet at the entrance to the sterile room.

She touched the man’s tired face with her five fingers, and his brows that remained furrowed even in unconsciousness.

"I’m sorry, almost losing the children again, this grudge must be avenged."

Qin Ruan’s lips were tightly closed, her voice held both regret and suppressed anger.

She pulled her hand away from Master Huo’s cheek, stood up, and looked around.

Qin Ruan’s eyes were cold, her voice chillingly low: "Lan An, I know you’re here, come out!"
