Chapter 590: Mister Huo: Ruanruan is good, she is mine, not yours

Chapter 590: Chapter 590: Mister Huo: Ruanruan is good, she is mine, not yours

Qin Ruan’s gaze shifted subtly. She noticed out of the corner of her eye that Huo Chuan’s hand, hanging at his side, was slightly curled.

As though she understood something, her face showed a flash of realization.

Did Huo Chuan think that she didn’t want Huo Zhi, that she wasn’t willing to let her return to her side?

Qin Ruan’s lips moved slightly, giving him a reassurance, "It’s been a while since Huo Zhi came back and I haven’t seen her yet. If time permits, let her out for some fresh air. I miss her a bit."

Huo Chuan’s tense face relaxed slightly.

In a calm demeanor, he nodded, "Alright, let’s arrange for her to come visit Madam another day."

Huo Zhi’s identity had been completely revealed in the Huo Family.

He wasn’t sure if Madam would still want Huo Zhi.

There were many who wished to replace Huo Zhi. It had not been easy to work up to this point over the years. He didn’t want to see Little Zhizi end up with a bad outcome.

Huo Zhi’s health had mostly recovered, but she had been particularly dejected these past few days.

She was afraid that the day she completely recovered, Madam might not want her anymore.

By then, Huo Zhi would find it hard to get by in the Huo Family.

Outside the door, the sound of a car was heard.

A hint of anticipation welled up in Qin Ruan’s heart as her brows lifted slightly.

The thought of his return this time made her feel as though they had been separated for a long time.

She walked towards the door, her steps hurried.

Outside the small building.

Huo Qiang opened the backdoor of the car, a man in a heavy coat, graceful yet aloof, with a pale face that added to his ethereal aura, Huo San Ye, stepped out.

Like a noble, he looked down on all creatures, the aura radiating from his body kept people at a distance.

Even those who wanted to get close to him would always be the ones feeling lowly.

Huo Yunjiao looked up, as Qin Ruan, with a gentle smile on her face, appeared in his sight from the stairs.

His gaze lowered, landing gently on Qin Ruan’s belly.

He wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination, but after a few days apart, he thought Qin Ruan’s belly looked much larger.

Qin Ruan stood on the stairs, looking at the man standing in front of the car.

The anticipation she felt when she heard the car’s arrival settled into peace with this moment.

Huo Yunjiao calmly approached Qin Ruan, "It’s cold outside, why didn’t you wait inside?"

His gaze slightly solemn, his voice gentle, yet his face was full of concern.

Qin Ruan scrutinized Huo Yunjiao closely.

The man’s face had lost color and he seemed much thinner.

In just a few short days, he seemed to have grown haggard and lost considerable weight.

Qin Ruan’s eyebrows knitted together tightly and she extended her hand to reach for his.

Huo Yunjiao deftly evaded it, wrapping his arm around Qin Ruan’s shoulder and directing her towards the house.

He sighed, "What’s wrong today, are you feeling unwell? You look rather pale."

Qin Ruan looked up at him, her gaze focused on Huo Yunjiao.

The gentle smile on his balanced lips was dazzling.

When he smiled, he was extremely good-looking. His radiant peach blossom eyes twinkled brilliantly, a smile no one could resist.

In her eyes, San Ye was always warm, gentle, and reserved, making her feel naturally close to him.

Qin Ruan denied softly, "No, it’s you who look rather unwell. Haven’t you been resting properly these past few days?"

"Too many things to handle. I’ll recover after a period of rest."

Lowering his gaze, the corner of his long peach-blossom eyes turned up slightly. He glanced at Qin Ruan casually.

Seeing Ruanruan’s furrowed brows, the curve of his smile deepened a bit.

"Could it be, you’re worried about me?"

Qin Ruan’s eyes were filled with sorrow, "How can I not be worried? You’ve been away for days."

She was genuinely concerned about his health. Seeing him after this long had left her feeling uneasy.

He had visibly lost weight, his face pale and haggard. He looked as though he hadn’t slept for days.

But what truly worried Qin Ruan was that the Purple Energy and the black fog shrouding him had died down.

Under normal circumstances, this would be good news. However, she felt a vibes of death emanating from him.

The pair entered the room, where the servants took their coats.

San Ye kept his arm around Qin Ruan’s shoulder as he led her to the spacious lounge area.

All this while, Qin Ruan had been searching for an opportunity to infuse him with Nether Power.

Huo Yunjiao always managed to avoid her when she was not expecting it.

After several instances, Qin Ruan also began to suspect something was amiss.

This current situation was even more insurmountable.

The master had her sit down in the comfortable and soft sofa area, but he chose to sit across from her.

Huo Yunjiao avoids Qin Ruan’s probing gaze, saying to Huo Qiang standing next to him: "Bring the documents from the car."

Qin Ruan’s facial expression was not very good: "You’re back home, isn’t it time to rest?"

She wore a grave face, her displeasure spread out without any attempt to conceal it.

Huo Yunjiao’s handsome face revealed a pleasant smile, he said with laughter: "These documents are important and need to be completed today."

Qin Ruan was still not happy.

Does this man even know the state of his own health?

If he continues to overwork himself like this, he will eventually have a problem.

Sensing Qin Ruan’s unhappiness, the master could only try his best to soothe her: "My dear Ruanruan, I’ve not spent much time with you recently, that is my fault."

"Who said I wanted you to accompany me?"

Qin Ruan leaned back on the sofa, in a languid pose, her tone also a bit casual.

She seemed to genuinely not want his company, and didn’t care whether he comes home.

Huo Yunjiao looked into her clear eyes, the twinkling stars in them showing no hint of compulsion, yet he felt a stroke of discomfort in his heart.

He had thought that she would throw a temper tantrum after not seeing him for a few days, or suspect that there was something wrong with his health.

He didn’t expect her to have this indifferent attitude.

The master shook his head and laughed, ignoring the inexplicable feeling of loss in his heart.

Huo Qiang brought the documents from the car, handing them over to Huo Yunjiao.

While he was looking over the documents, he conversed with Qin Ruan.

"Has the kid been giving you trouble lately?"

Qin Ruan: "They have been good."

Master Huo turned a page of his document: "Do you enjoy the food prepared by our chef? Have you been drinking your medicinal soup on time?"

"It’s the same every day."

Something felt wrong to Huo Yunjiao, so he raised his eyes to look at Qin Ruan.

This girl was slumped back in the sofa, her arms crossed in front of her chest.

The sight of her conspicuous pregnant belly was hard to miss.

Qin Ruan rubbed her belly, suddenly suggesting: "Master, do you want to feel the baby?"

Huo Yunjiao’s eyes were deep and still, unwavering as they focused on Qin Ruan’s belly, swallowing nervously.

In a few more months, their child would be born.

Before the child is born, his body should have recovered.

This was his child - no, two of them.

In a few months, his bloodline would be continued.

Even after his subsequent demise, the children would prove that he had once existed in this world.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

Unexpectedly, he couldn’t hold it in and coughed.

While looking at Qin Ruan’s belly, his emotions became unstable, his breathing erratic, thus the suppressed urge to cough became uncontrollable.

Huo Qiang brought a cup of warm water over to Huo Yunjiao: "Master, please have a drink."

Qin Ruan sat up straight, her previously indifferent expression replaced with a worried one.

She frowned, looking extremely serious: "What’s going on?"

Seeing his master take the cup, Huo Qiang slightly bowed to Qin Ruan: "Madam, this past days have seen a drop in temperature. The master came back late last night and caught a cold. A doctor has seen him and he has been prescribed medicine for a few days."

His answer was flawless. Qin Ruan looked suspiciously at Master Huo sitting across from her.

The latter gave a comforting smile: "It’s just a minor cold, nothing serious."

With cup in hand, he was about to take a sip when he couldn’t hold back a cough.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

Master Huo held his cup, looking down with tightly narrowed eyes.

He stared at the water in the cup, his gaze as calm as the water within, yet his eyes held a bone-chilling coldness.
